< Jeremiah 21 >

1 The word which was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, whanne king Sedechie sente to hym Phassur, the sone of Helchie, and Sofonye, the preest, the sone of Maasie, and seide,
[the] word which to be to(wards) Jeremiah from with LORD in/on/with to send: depart to(wards) him [the] king Zedekiah [obj] Pashhur son: child Malchiah and [obj] Zephaniah son: child Maaseiah [the] priest to/for to say
2 Axe thou the Lord for vs, for Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, fiytith ayens vs; if in hap the Lord do with vs bi alle hise merueilis, and he go awei fro vs.
to seek please about/through/for us [obj] LORD for Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon to fight upon us perhaps to make: do LORD with us like/as all to wonder his and to ascend: rise from upon us
3 And Jeremye seide to hem, Thus ye schulen seie to Sedechie,
and to say Jeremiah to(wards) them thus to say [emph?] to(wards) Zedekiah
4 The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the instrumentis of batel that ben in youre hondis, and with which ye fiyten ayens the king of Babiloyne, and ayens Caldeis, that bisegen you in the cumpas of wallis; and Y schal gadere tho togidere in the myddis of this citee.
thus to say LORD God Israel look! I to turn: repell [obj] article/utensil [the] battle which in/on/with hand your which you(m. p.) to fight in/on/with them with king Babylon and with [the] Chaldea [the] to confine upon you from outside to/for wall and to gather [obj] them to(wards) midst [the] city [the] this
5 And Y schal ouercome you in hond stretchid forth, and in strong arm, and in stronge veniaunce, and indignacioun, and in greet wraththe;
and to fight I with you in/on/with hand to stretch and in/on/with arm strong and in/on/with face: anger and in/on/with rage and in/on/with wrath great: large
6 and Y schal smyte the dwelleris of this citee, men and beestis schulen die bi greet pestilence.
and to smite [obj] to dwell [the] city [the] this and [obj] [the] man and [obj] [the] animal in/on/with pestilence great: large to die
7 And after these thingis, seith the Lord, Y schal yyue Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and hise seruauntis, and his puple, and that ben left in this citee fro pestilence, and swerd, and hungur, in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lijf of hem; and he schal smyte hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd; and he schal not be bowid, nether schal spare, nether schal haue mercy.
and after so utterance LORD to give: give [obj] Zedekiah king Judah and [obj] servant/slave his and [obj] [the] people and [obj] [the] to remain in/on/with city [the] this from [the] pestilence from [the] sword and from [the] famine in/on/with hand: power Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon and in/on/with hand: power enemy their and in/on/with hand: power to seek soul: life their and to smite them to/for lip: edge sword not to pity upon them and not to spare and not to have compassion
8 And thou schalt seie to this puple, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y yyue bifore you the weie of lijf, and the weie of deth.
and to(wards) [the] people [the] this to say thus to say LORD look! I to give: put to/for face: before your [obj] way: conduct [the] life and [obj] way: conduct [the] death
9 He that dwellith in this citee, schal die bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence; but he that goith out, and fleeth ouer to Caldeis that bisegen you, schal lyue, and his lijf schal be as a prey to hym.
[the] to dwell in/on/with city [the] this to die in/on/with sword and in/on/with famine and in/on/with pestilence and [the] to come out: come and to fall: fall upon [the] Chaldea [the] to confine upon you (and to live *Q(K)*) and to be to/for him soul: life his to/for spoil
10 For Y haue set my face on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good, seith the Lord; it schal be youun in the hond of the king of Babiloyne, and he schal brenne it with fier.
for to set: make face my in/on/with city [the] this to/for distress: harm and not to/for welfare utterance LORD in/on/with hand: power king Babylon to give: give and to burn her in/on/with fire
11 And thou schalt seie to the hous of the king of Juda, the hous of Dauid, Here ye the word of the Lord.
and to/for house: palace king Judah to hear: hear word LORD
12 The Lord seith these thingis, Deme ye eerli doom, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre studies.
house: household David thus to say LORD to judge to/for morning justice and to rescue to plunder from hand: power to oppress lest to come out: issue like/as fire rage my and to burn: burn and nothing to quench from face: because evil (deed your *Q(K)*)
13 Lo! Y to thee, dwelleresse of the sad valei and pleyn, seith the Lord, which seien, Who schal smyte vs, and who schal entre in to oure housis?
look! I to(wards) you to dwell [the] valley rock [the] plain utterance LORD [the] to say who? to descend upon us and who? to come (in): come in/on/with habitation our
14 And Y schal visite on you bi the fruyt of youre studies, seith the Lord; and Y schal kyndle fier in the forest therof, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in the cumpas therof.
and to reckon: punish upon you like/as fruit deed your utterance LORD and to kindle fire in/on/with wood her and to eat all around her
