Jeremiah 11
1 The word that was maad of the Lord to Jeremye,
Das Wort, das an Jeremia von seiten Jahwes erging, also lautend:
2 and seide, Here ye the wordis of this couenaunt, and speke ye to the men of Juda, and to the dwelleris of Jerusalem; and thou schalt seie to hem,
Hört die Worte dieses Gesetzes, und sage sie den Leuten von Juda und den Bewohnern von Jerusalem!
3 The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Cursid be the man that herith not the wordis of this couenaunt,
- und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jahwe, der Gott Israels: Verflucht ist der Mann, der auf die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht hört,
4 which Y comaundide to youre fadris, in the dai in which Y ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt, fro the irone furneis; and Y seide, Here ye my vois, and do ye alle thingis whiche Y comaundide to you, and ye schulen be in to a puple to me, and Y schal be in to God to you;
die ich euren Vätern anbefahl, als ich sie aus Ägypten, aus dem eisernen Schmelzofen wegführte, indem ich sprach: gehorcht meinem Befehl und thut danach, ganz wie ich euch gebieten werde; so sollt ihr mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein!
5 that Y reise the ooth which Y swoor to youre fadris, that Y schulde yyue to hem a lond flowynge with mylk and hony, as this dai is. And Y answeride, and seide, Amen, Lord.
damit ich den Eid aufrecht erhalte, den ich euren Vätern geschworen, daß ich ihnen ein Land verleihen wolle, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, wie ihr es jetzt noch besitzt! - Da antwortete ich und sprach: So sei es, Jahwe!
6 And the Lord seide to me, Crye thou alle these wordis in the citees of Juda, and with out Jerusalem, and seie thou, Here ye the wordis of this couenaunt, and do ye tho;
Sodann sprach Jahwe zu mir: Verkünde alle diese Worte in den Städten Judas und auf den Gassen Jerusalems und sprich: Hört die Worte dieses Gesetzes und thut danach!
7 for Y witnessynge haue witnessid to youre fadris, in the dai in which Y ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt, `til to this dai; Y roos eerli, and witnesside, and seide, Here ye my vois.
Denn zwar habe ich immer und immer wieder eure Väter, als ich sie aus Ägypten wegführte und fernerhin bis auf den heutigen Tag aufs Ernstlichste verwarnt und gesagt: Gehorcht meinem Befehle!
8 And thei herden not, nether bowiden doun her eere, but thei yeden forth ech man in the schrewidnesse of his yuel herte; and Y brouyte in on hem alle the wordis of this couenaunt, which Y comaundide that thei schulden do, and thei diden not.
Aber sie hörten nicht, noch neigten sie ihr Ohr, wandelten vielmehr ein jeder nach seinem eigenen bösen Sinn, und so ließ ich denn alle Drohungen dieses Gesetzes, das ich ihnen zu halten geboten hatte, das sie aber nicht hielten, an ihnen in Erfüllung gehen.
9 And the Lord seide to me, Sweryng togidere is foundun in the men of Juda, and in the dwelleris of Jerusalem;
Da sprach Jahwe zu mir: Es besteht eine Verschwörung unter den Leuten von Juda und den Bewohnern von Jerusalem;
10 thei turneden ayen to the formere wickidnessis of her fadris, that nolden here my wordis; and therfor these men yeden aftir alien goddis, for to serue hem; the hous of Israel and the hous of Juda maden voide my couenaunt, which Y made with the fadris of hem.
sie sind in die Verschuldungen ihrer Vorväter zurückgefallen, die sich weigerten, meine Worte zu hören, - und so folgen auch sie andern Göttern, ihnen zu dienen: gebrochen haben das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda meinen Bund, den ich mit ihren Vätern geschlossen habe!
11 Wherfor the Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bringe in on hem yuels, of whiche thei schulen not mow go out; and thei schulen crie to me, and Y schal not here hem.
Deshalb spricht Jahwe also: Nun will ich Unheil über sie bringen, aus dem herauszukommen ihnen nicht gelingen soll, und wenn sie dann zu mir schreien, werde ich nicht auf sie hören.
12 And the citees of Juda and the dwellers of Jerusalem schulen go, and schulen crye to hem, to whiche thei offren sacrifices; and thei schulen not saue hem in the tyme of her turment.
Gehen aber die Städte Judas und die Bewohner Jerusalems alsdann hin, um zu den Göttern zu schreien, denen sie zu räuchern pflegen, so werden die ihnen in der Zeit ihres Unglücks ebensowenig helfen können.
13 For thou, Juda, thi goddis weren bi the noumbre of thi citees, and thou settidist auters of schenschipe, bi the noumbre of the weies of Jerusalem, auters to offre sacrifices to Baalym.
Allerdings so zahlreich wie deine Städte sind, so zahlreich sind deine Götter geworden, Juda, und so zahlreich wie die Gassen Jerusalems sind, habt ihr Altäre errichtet, dem Baal zu räuchern.
14 Therfor nyle thou preie for this puple, and take thou not heriyng and preier for hem; for Y schal not here in the tyme of the cry of hem to me, in the tyme of the turment of hem.
Du aber sollst nicht für dieses Volk beten, noch sollst du flehentliche Bitte für sie laut werden lassen, denn ich werde durchaus nicht hören, wenn sie mich zur Zeit ihres Unglücks anrufen!
15 What is it, that my derlyng doith many greet trespassis in myn hous? whether hooli fleischis schulen do awei fro thee thi malice, in which thou hast glorie?
Was will mein Geliebter in meinem Tempel - ihn ausführen, den listigen Anschlag? Werden Gebetsgeschrei und heiliges Opferfleisch deine Bosheit von dir fortnehmen, daß du alsdann frohlocken darfst?
16 The Lord clepide thi name an olyue tre, fair, ful of fruyt, schapli; at the vois of a greet speche fier brent an hiy ther ynne, and the buyschis therof ben brent.
Einen frischgrünen Ölbaum, prangend mit stattlicher Frucht, nannte dich Jahwe: bei gewaltigem Wettergebrause legt er Feuer an ihn, und es zersplittern seine Äste.
17 And the Lord of oostis that plauntide thee, spak yuel on thee, for the yuels of the hous of Israel, and of the hous of Juda, whiche thei diden to hem silf, and offriden to Baalym, to terre me to wraththe.
Jahwe der Heerscharen, der dich einpflanzte, hat dir Schlimmes angedroht, um der Bosheit des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda willen, die sie verübt, um mich zum Zorne zu reizen, indem sie dem Baal räucherten.
18 Forsothe, Lord, thou schewidist to me, and Y knew; thou schewidist to me the studies of hem.
Jahwe aber ließ mich's erfahren, und da erfuhr ich es: damals ließest du mich ihr Treiben schauen!
19 And Y am as a mylde lomb, which is borun to slayn sacrifice; and Y knew not, that thei thouyten counsels on me, and seiden, Sende we a tre in to the brede of hym, and rase we hym awei fro the lond of lyueris, and his name be no more hadde in mynde.
Ich selbst war wie ein zahmes Lamm, das zum Schlachten geführt wird, und wußte nicht, daß sie wider mich Anschläge planten: Laßt uns den Baum in seinem Safte verderben und ihn ausrotten aus dem Lande der Lebendigen, daß seines Namens fernerhin nicht mehr gedacht werde!
20 But thou, Lord of oostis, that demest iustli, and preuest reynes and hertis, se Y thi veniaunce of hem; for to thee Y schewide my cause.
Nun, Jahwe der Heerscharen, der du gerecht richtest und Nieren und Herz prüfest: laß mich deine Rache an ihnen schauen, denn auf dich habe ich meine Sache gewälzt!
21 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis to the men of Anathot, that seken thi lijf, and seien, Thou schalt not prophesie in the name of the Lord, and thou schalt not die in oure hondis.
Darum spricht Jahwe also in betreff der Männer von Anathoth - sie, die dir nach dem Leben trachten, indem sie sagen: Du sollst nicht weissagen im Namen Jahwes, sonst mußt du durch unsere Hand sterben!
22 Therfor the Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal visite on hem; the yonge men of hem schulen die bi swerd, the sones of hem and the douytris of hem schulen die for hungur;
Deshalb spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen also: Fürwahr, ich will sie strafen: die jungen Männer sollen durchs Schwert umkommen, ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter sollen Hungers sterben;
23 and no relifs, ether children abidynge, schulen be of hem; for Y schal bringe ynne yuel on the men of Anathot, the yeer of the visitacioun of hem.
kein Überrest soll ihnen bleiben, denn ich werde Unheil über die Männer von Anathoth bringen im Jahre ihrer Heimsuchung.
