Isaiah 56
1 The Lord seith these thingis, Kepe ye doom, and do ye riytfulnesse, for whi myn helthe is niy, that it come, and my riytfulnesse, that it be schewid.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: Observez ce qui est droit, et pratiquez ce qui est juste; car mon salut est près de venir, et ma justice d'être manifestée.
2 Blessid is the man, that doith this, and the sone of man, that schal take this; kepynge the sabat, that he defoule not it, kepynge hise hondis, that he do not ony yuel.
Heureux l'homme qui fait ces choses, et le fils des hommes qui s'y attache, gardant le sabbat pour ne pas le profaner, et gardant ses mains de faire aucun mal!
3 And seie not the sone of a comelyng, that cleueth faste to the Lord, seiynge, Bi departyng the Lord schal departe me fro his puple; and a geldyng, ether a chast man, seie not, Lo! Y am a drie tree.
Et que le fils de l'étranger, qui s'attache à l'Éternel, ne dise pas: L'Éternel me sépare de son peuple. Que l'eunuque ne dise pas: Voici, je suis un arbre sec.
4 For the Lord seith these thingis to geldingis, that kepen my sabatis, and chesen what thingis Y wolde, and holden my boond of pees.
Car ainsi a dit l'Éternel: Pour les eunuques qui garderont mes sabbats, qui choisiront ce qui m'est agréable et s'attacheront à mon alliance,
5 Y schal yyue to hem a place in myn hous, and in my wallis, and the beste name of sones and douytris; Y schal yyue to hem a name euerlastynge, that schal not perische.
Je leur donnerai une place dans ma maison et dans mes murs, et un nom meilleur que celui de fils et de filles; je leur donnerai un nom éternel, qui ne sera pas retranché.
6 And Y schal brynge in to blis the sones of a comelyng, that cleuen faste to the Lord, that thei worschipe hym, and loue his name, that thei be to hym in to seruauntis; ech man kepynge the sabat, that he defoule it not, and holdynge my boond of pees;
Et les enfants de l'étranger, qui se seront joints à l'Éternel pour le servir, pour aimer le nom de l'Éternel et pour être ses serviteurs; tous ceux qui garderont le sabbat pour ne pas le profaner, et qui s'attacheront à mon alliance;
7 Y schal brynge hem in to myn hooli hil, and Y schal make hem glad in the hous of my preier; her brent sacrifices and her slayn sacrifices schulen plese me on my auter; for whi myn hous schal be clepid an hous of preier to alle puplis,
Je les amènerai sur ma montagne sainte, et les réjouirai dans ma maison de prière; leurs holocaustes et leurs sacrifices seront agréés sur mon autel; car ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour tous les peuples.
8 seith the Lord God, that gaderith togidere the scaterid men of Israel. Yit Y schal gadere togidere to hym alle the gaderid men therof.
Le Seigneur, l'Éternel a dit, lui qui rassemble les dispersés d'Israël: J'en rassemblerai encore auprès de lui, outre les siens déjà rassemblés.
9 Alle beestis of the feeld, come ye to deuoure, alle beestis of the forest.
Vous, toutes les bêtes des champs, venez pour manger, et vous, toutes les bêtes des forêts!
10 Alle the biholderis therof ben blinde, alle thei knewen not; doumbe doggis, that moun not berke, seynge veyn thingis, slepynge, and louynge dremes;
Les gardiens de mon peuple sont tous aveugles; ils ne connaissent rien. Ce sont tous des chiens muets, qui ne peuvent aboyer, voyant trouble, se tenant couchés, aimant à sommeiller.
11 and moost vnschamefast doggis knewen not fulnesse. Tho scheepherdis knewen not vndurstondyng; alle thei bowyden in to her weie, ech man to his aueryce, fro the hiyeste `til to the laste.
Les chiens sont voraces, ils ne peuvent se rassasier. Et les bergers sont sans intelligence, suivant tous leur propre voie, courant chacun à ses profits, jusqu'au dernier.
12 Come ye, take we wyn, and be we fillid of drunkenesse; and it schal be as to dai, so and to morewe, and myche more.
Venez, disent-ils, je prendrai du vin, et nous nous enivrerons de boisson forte; et nous ferons demain comme aujourd'hui, et beaucoup plus encore!
