Bel se dobla, Nebo se encorva; sus imágenes son puestas sobre bestias y jumentos; esos (ídolos) que solíais llevar, son para las bestias carga abrumadora.
2 with heuy charge `til to werynesse weren rotun, and ben al to-brokun togidere; tho miyten not saue the berere, and the soule of hem schal go in to caitifte.
Se encorvan y se postran a una, no pueden salvar al que los lleva, porque ellos mismos son llevados cautivos.
3 The hous of Jacob, and al the residue of the hous of Israel, here ye me, whiche ben borun of my wombe, whiche ben borun of my wombe.
Escuchadme, casa de Jacob, y todo lo que queda de la casa de Israel; vosotros, los que llevo Yo desde el nacimiento, y que sois mi carga desde el seno materno.
4 Til to eelde Y my silf, and til to hoor heeris Y schal bere; Y made, and Y schal bere, and Y schal saue.
Hasta vuestra vejez soy Yo el mismo, y os soportaré hasta que encanezcáis. Ya lo hice, y seguiré llevándoos; cargaré con vosotros y os salvaré.
5 To whom han ye licned me, and maad euene, and han comparisound me, and han maad lijk?
¿A quién queréis compararme? ¿A quién igualarme? ¿Con quién parangonarme, para que seamos semejantes?
6 Whiche beren togidere gold fro the bagge, and peisen siluer with a balaunce, and hiren a goldsmyth to make a god, and thei fallen doun, and worschipen; thei berynge beren in schuldris,
Sacan ellos del bolsillo el oro, y pesan la plata en la balanza; pagan a un platero, para que les haga un dios, ante el cual se postran y adoran.
7 and settynge in his place; and he schal stonde, and schal not be mouyd fro his place; but also whanne thei crien to hym, he schal not here, and he schal not saue hem fro tribulacioun.
Lo cargan sobre los hombros y lo llevan, lo colocan en su lugar y allí se queda, sin moverse de su sitio. Aun cuando le invocan no responde, ni los salva de la tribulación.
8 Haue ye mynde of this, and be ye aschamed; ye trespassouris, go ayen to the herte.
Recordad esto, y sed hombres; tenedlo en cuenta, oh transgresores de la Ley.
9 Bithenke ye on the formere world, for Y am God, and no God is ouer me, nether is lijk me.
Acordaos de lo que pasó desde los tiempos antiguos; que Yo soy Dios, y no hay otro. Yo soy Dios, y no hay quien sea semejante a Mí.
10 And Y telle fro the bigynnyng the laste thing, and fro the bigynnyng tho thingis that ben not maad yit; and Y seie, My councel schal stonde, and al my wille schal be don.
Yo anuncio desde el principio lo que ha de venir, y mucho tiempo antes lo que aún no se ha hecho. Yo digo: “Mi designio subsistirá, ejecutaré toda mi voluntad.”
11 And Y clepe a brid fro the eest, and the man of my wille fro a ferr lond; and Y spak, and Y schal brynge that thing; Y haue maad of nouyt, and Y schal make that thing.
Yo llamo del Oriente un ave de rapiña, y de tierra remota a un varón que Yo he designado. Lo he dicho y lo cumpliré, lo he ideado, y lo voy a realizar.
12 Ye of hard herte, here me, that ben fer fro riytfulnesse.
Escuchadme hombres de duro corazón, que estáis lejos de la justicia.
13 Y made nyy myn riytfulnesse, it schal not be drawun afer, and myn helthe shal not tarie; Y schal yyue helthe in Sion, and my glorie in Israel.
Yo hago venir mi justicia, que no está lejos, y mi salvación que no tardará. Yo pondré en Sión la salud, y mi gloria en Israel.
