Isaiah 46
1 Bel is brokun, Nabo is al to-brokun; her symylacris lijk to wielde beestis and werk beestis ben brokun; youre birthuns
Bêl a fléchi, Nebo s’est affaissé; leurs statues ont été posées sur des animaux, des bêtes de somme. Vous les portiez jadis, maintenant elles sont chargées, pesant fardeau, sur des montures qu’elles accablent.

Ensemble ils ont fléchi et se sont abattus; ils n’ont pu sauver la charge et sont allés, de leur personne, en captivité.
3 The hous of Jacob, and al the residue of the hous of Israel, here ye me, whiche ben borun of my wombe, whiche ben borun of my wombe.
Ecoutez-moi, maison de Jacob, et vous tous, débris de la maison d’Israël, qui êtes soutenus par moi depuis le berceau et portés depuis votre naissance.
4 Til to eelde Y my silf, and til to hoor heeris Y schal bere; Y made, and Y schal bere, and Y schal saue.
Jusqu’à votre vieillesse, je resterai le même pour vous; jusqu’à votre âge extrême, je vous porterai. Comme je l’ai fait, je continuerai à vous porter, à vous soutenir, à vous sauver.
5 To whom han ye licned me, and maad euene, and han comparisound me, and han maad lijk?
À qui oserez-vous me comparer, m’égaler? Avec qui me mettrez-vous en parallèle comme étant semblables?
6 Whiche beren togidere gold fro the bagge, and peisen siluer with a balaunce, and hiren a goldsmyth to make a god, and thei fallen doun, and worschipen; thei berynge beren in schuldris,
En voilà qui sortent avec profusion l’or de leur bourse et pèsent de l’argent à la balance; ils engagent un orfèvre pour qu’il en fasse un dieu, puis se courbent et se prosternent.
7 and settynge in his place; and he schal stonde, and schal not be mouyd fro his place; but also whanne thei crien to hym, he schal not here, and he schal not saue hem fro tribulacioun.
Ils le chargent sur leur épaule, ils le transportent et le mettent en place: le voilà fixé, il ne bouge plus! Que si l’on crie vers lui, il ne répond pas, il ne vient en aide à personne dans le malheur.
8 Haue ye mynde of this, and be ye aschamed; ye trespassouris, go ayen to the herte.
Souvenez-vous de cela et comportez-vous en hommes; infidèles, prenez-le à cœur.
9 Bithenke ye on the formere world, for Y am God, and no God is ouer me, nether is lijk me.
Rappelez-vous le passé, les temps reculés, car je suis le Tout-Puissant, il n’en est pas d’autre, je suis Dieu, et nul n’est comme moi.
10 And Y telle fro the bigynnyng the laste thing, and fro the bigynnyng tho thingis that ben not maad yit; and Y seie, My councel schal stonde, and al my wille schal be don.
Dès le début, j’annonce les choses futures, et longtemps d’avance ce qui n’est pas encore accompli; je parle ma décision demeure, et tout ce que je veux, je le réalise.
11 And Y clepe a brid fro the eest, and the man of my wille fro a ferr lond; and Y spak, and Y schal brynge that thing; Y haue maad of nouyt, and Y schal make that thing.
Du Levant j’ai appelé un aigle, d’un pays lointain l’homme de mon dessein. Oui, ce que j’ai annoncé, je le fais arriver; ce que j’ai conçu, je l’exécute.
12 Ye of hard herte, here me, that ben fer fro riytfulnesse.
Écoutez-moi, hommes au cœur endurci, si éloignés du bien! ´
13 Y made nyy myn riytfulnesse, it schal not be drawun afer, and myn helthe shal not tarie; Y schal yyue helthe in Sion, and my glorie in Israel.
Je hâte la venue de ma justice, elle n’est plus loin; mon secours ne se fera pas attendre. Dans Sion, je dispenserai le salut à Israël, qui est ma gloire.
