Isaiah 38
1 In tho daies Esechie was sijk `til to the deth; and Isaie, the profete, the sone of Amos, entride to hym, and seide to hym, The Lord seith these thingis, Dispose thi hous, for thou schalt die, and thou schalt not lyue.
Zu jener Zeit ward Ezechias todkrank. Da besuchte ihn der Prophet Isaias, des Amos Sohn, und sprach zu ihm: "So spricht der Herr: Bestell dein Haus! Denn sterben mußt du, ohne zu genesen."-
2 And Esechie turnede his face to the wal, and preiede the Lord, and seide, Lord, Y biseche;
Da wandte sich Ezechias mit seinem Angesicht zur Wand und betete zum Herrn
3 haue thou mynde, Y biseche, hou Y yede bifore thee in treuthe, and in perfit herte, and Y dide that that was good bifore thin iyen. And Ezechye wept with greet wepyng.
und sprach: "Ach Herr, denk doch daran, daß ich vor Dir gewandelt, treulich und mit ungeteiltem Herzen, und daß ich tat, was Dir gefiel!" Darauf brach Ezechias in lautes Weinen aus.
4 And the word of the Lord was maad to Isaie, and seide,
Da erging das Wort des Herrn an Isaias, also lautend:
5 Go thou, and seie to Ezechye, The Lord God of Dauid, thi fadir, seith these thingis, I haue herd thi preier, and Y siy thi teeris. Lo! Y schal adde on thi daies fiftene yeer;
"Auf! Sprich zu Ezechias: Also spricht der Herr, des Davids, deines Vaters, Gott: 'Ich hörte dein Gebet und schaute deine Tränen. So lege ich denn deinen Tagen noch fünfzehn Jahre zu.
6 and Y schal delyuere thee and this citee fro the hond of the kyng of Assiriens, and Y schal defende it.
Ich rette dich aus des Assyrerkönigs Hand samt dieser Stadt; ich schirme diese Stadt!
7 Forsothe this schal be to thee a signe of the Lord, that the Lord schal do this word, which he spak.
Dies diene dir vom Herrn als Zeichen, daß wirklich auch der Herr das tut, was er verspricht!
8 Lo! Y schal make the schadewe of lynes, bi which it yede doun in the orologie of Achas, in the sunne, to turne ayen backward bi ten lynes. And the sunne turnede ayen bi ten lynes, bi degrees bi whiche it hadde go doun.
Die Schatten von den Stufen laß ich soviel rückwärtsgehen, wie schon die Sonne an des Achaz Sonnenzeiger sank, zehn Stufen.'" Da stieg die Sonne um zehn Stufen wieder, So viele Stufen sie gesunken war.
9 The scripture of Ezechie, kyng of Juda, whanne he hadde be sijk, and hadde rekyuered of his sikenesse.
Ein Gedicht von Ezechias, dem Judakönig, als er krank war und von seiner Krankheit dann genas:
10 I seide, in the myddil of my daies Y schal go to the yatis of helle. Y souyte the residue of my yeeris; (Sheol h7585)
"Ich spreche: In meines Lebens voller Kraft soll ich das Tor der Unterwelt betreten und mich beraubt des Restes meiner Jahre sehen. (Sheol h7585)
11 Y seide, Y schal not se the Lord God in the lond of lyueris; Y schal no more biholde a man, and a dwellere of reste.
Schon habe ich gesprochen: Ich soll den Herrn nicht wiedersehn im Lande der Lebendigen und Menschen nicht mehr schauen dort bei des Totenreichs Bewohnern.
12 My generacioun is takun awei, and is foldid togidere fro me, as the tabernacle of scheepherdis is foldid togidere. Mi lijf is kit doun as of a webbe; he kittide doun me, the while Y was wouun yit. Fro the morewtid `til to the euentid thou schalt ende me;
Mein Zelt soll abgebrochen werden und eingerollt. Aufrollen willst Du, einem Weber gleich, mein Leben, abschneiden mich vom Faden. Bevor die Nacht dem Tage folgt, bist Du schon mit mir fertig.
13 Y hopide til to the morewtid; as a lioun, so he al to-brak alle my boonys. Fro the morewtid til to the euentid thou schalt ende me; as the brid of a swalewe, so Y schal crie;
Du handelst richtig wie ein Löwe; so wird all mein Gebein zermalmt. Bevor die Nacht dem Tage folgt, bist du mit mir schon fertig.
14 Y schal bithenke as a culuer. Myn iyen biholdynge an hiy, ben maad feble. Lord, Y suffre violence, answere thou for me; what schal Y seie,
Wie eine Schwalbe ächze ich und seufze wie die Drosseln. Zur Höhe tränen meine Augen: Ich bin so hart bedrückt, Herr! Tritt Du doch für mich ein!
15 ether what schal answere to me, whanne `I mysilf haue do? Y schal bithenke to thee alle my yeeris, in the bitternisse of my soule.
Wo soll ich Worte finden? Was er mir angekündigt, tut er auch. All meine Jahre ende ich in Bitternis.
16 Lord, if me lyueth so, and the lijf of my spirit is in siche thingis, thou schalt chastise me, and schalt quykene me.
Herr, deshalb mögen sie noch weiter dauern, und möge doch mein Geist in ihnen allen lebend sein! Mach mich gesund und laß mich weiter leben!
17 Lo! my bitternesse is moost bittir in pees; forsothe thou hast delyuered my soule, that it perischide not; thou hast caste awey bihynde thi bak alle my synnes.
Zum Heile dient mir dann die bittre Bitternis, bewahrst Du meine Seele vor dem sichern Untergange, weil hinter Deinen Rücken Du all meine Sünden wirfst.
18 For not helle schal knowleche to thee, nethir deth schal herie thee; thei that goon doun in to the lake, schulen not abide thi treuthe. (Sheol h7585)
Die Unterwelt lobpreist Dich nicht; Dich lobt auch nicht der Tod. Die rühmen Deine Treue nicht, die in die Grüfte sinken. (Sheol h7585)
19 A lyuynge man, a lyuynge man, he schal knouleche to thee, as and Y to dai; the fadir schal make knowun thi treuthe to sones.
Nur wer noch lebt, nur wer noch lebt, der kann Dich loben so wie ich's heute möchte tun. Der Vater kündete alsdann den Söhnen Deine Treue an.
20 Lord, make thou me saaf, and we schulen synge oure salmes in all the daies of oure lijf in the hous of the Lord.
Zu Hilfe, Herr! Wir wollen alle unsere Lebenstage im Haus des Herrn die Saitenspiele rühren." -
21 And Ysaie comaundide, that thei schulden take a gobet of figus, and make a plaster on the wounde; and it schulde be heelid.
Isaias befahl hierauf, ein Feigenpflaster herbeizubringen und dies auf das Geschwür zu streichen, auf daß er genese.
22 And Ezechie seide, What signe schal be, that Y schal stie in to the hous of the Lord?
Da sprach Ezechias: "Was ist das Zeichen, daß ich wieder in das Haus des Herrn eingehen kann?"
