< Hosea 12 >
1 Effraym fedith wynd, and sueth heete. Al dai he multiplieth leesyng, and distriyng; and he made boond of pees with Assiriens, and bar oile in to Egipt.
ʻOku kai ʻe ʻIfalemi ʻae matangi, pea ʻoku muimui ki he matangi hahake: ʻoku ne fakalahi ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē ʻae loi mo e fakaʻauha, pea ʻoku nau fai ʻae fuakava mo e kau ʻAsilia, pea ʻoku ʻave ʻae lolo ki ʻIsipite.
2 Therfor the doom of the Lord is with Juda, and visityng is on Jacob; bi the weies of hym, and bi the fyndyngis of hym he schal yelde to hym.
3 In the wombe he supplauntide his brother, and in his strengthe he was dressid with the aungel.
Naʻa ne kuku ʻae muivaʻe ʻo hono taʻokete ʻi he manāva, pea ʻi hono mālohi naʻa ne lavaʻi ʻae ʻOtua:
4 And he was strong to the aungel, and was coumfortid; he wepte, and preiede hym; in Bethel he foond hym, and there he spak with vs.
ʻIo, naʻa ne mālohi ki he ʻāngelo, pea ne lavaʻi: naʻa ne tangi, pea ne lotu tāumaʻu kiate ia: naʻa ne ʻilo ia ʻi Peteli, pea naʻa ne folofola kiate kitautolu ʻi ai.
5 And the Lord God of oostis, the Lord, is the memorial of hym.
ʻIo, ko Sihova, ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi tokolahi; ko Sihova ko hono fakamanatu ia.
6 And thou schalt turne to thi God. Kepe thou merci and doom, and hope thou euere in thi God.
Ko ia, tafoki koe ki ho ʻOtua: fai ki he ʻaloʻofa mo e fakamaau, pea tatali ki ho ʻOtua maʻuaipē.
7 Chanaan louyde fals caleng, a gileful balaunce in his hond.
Ko e tangata fakatau ia, ʻoku ʻi hono nima ʻae meʻa fua tautau ʻoe kākā: ʻoku ne manako ke fakamālohiʻi.
8 And Effraym seide, Netheles Y am maad riche, Y haue founde an idol to me; alle my trauelis schulen not fynde to me the wickidnesse, whiche Y synnede.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe ʻIfalemi, “Kuo hoko au ʻo koloaʻia, kuo u ʻilo maʻaku ʻae meʻa lahi: ʻi heʻeku ngaahi ngāue kotoa pē ʻe ʻikai te nau ʻilo ai ha hia ʻiate au ke angahala.”
9 And Y am thi Lord God fro the lond of Egipt; yit Y schal make thee to sitte in tabernaclis, as in the daies of feeste.
“Pea ko au, ko Sihova, ko ho ʻOtua, mei he fonua ʻo ʻIsipite, te u toe ngaohi koe ke nofo ʻi he ngaahi fale fehikitaki, ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe kātoanga mamafa.
10 And Y spak bi profetis, and Y multiplied profesie, and Y was licned in the hond of profetis.
Kuo u lea foki ʻi he kau palōfita, pea kuo u fakalahi ʻae ngaahi meʻa hā mai, pea kuo u lea ʻaki ʻae fakatātā, ʻi he ngāue ʻae kau palōfita.
11 If Galaad worschipith an idol, therfor thei erren in veyn offryng to oxis in Galgal; for whi and the auteris of hem schulen be as heepis on the forewis of the feeld.
ʻOku ai ʻae hia ʻi Kiliati? Ta ko e moʻoni ko e vaʻinga ʻakinautolu: ʻoku nau feilaulau ʻaki ʻae fanga pulu ʻi Kilikali; ʻio, ko honau ngaahi feilaulauʻanga ʻoku hangē ko e fokotuʻunga ʻi he ngaahi luo ʻoe ngoue.
12 Jacob fledde in to the cuntrei of Sirie, and Israel seruyde for a wijf, and seruyde, ether kepte, for a wijf.
Pea naʻe hola ʻa Sēkope ki he fonua ʻo Silia, pea naʻe tauhi ʻe ʻIsileli ke maʻu ha uaifi, pea ke maʻu ha uaifi naʻa ne tauhi sipi.
13 But bi a profete the Lord ledde Israel out of Egipt, and bi a profete he was kept.
Pea naʻe ʻomi ʻe Sihova ʻa ʻIsileli mei ʻIsipite ʻi ha palōfita, pea ʻi ha palōfita naʻe fakamoʻui ia.
14 Effraym terride me to wrathfulnesse in hise bitternessis, and the blood of hym schal come on hym; and his Lord schal restore to hym the schenschipe of him.
Naʻe fakatupu ʻiate ia ʻae houhau fakamamahi ʻe ʻIfalemi: ko ia te ne tuku hono toto ʻiate ia, pea ko hono manuki ʻe toe liliu kiate ia ʻe hono ʻEiki.
