Hebrews 1
1 God, that spak sum tyme bi prophetis in many maneres to oure fadris, at the
Deus, que no passado falou várias vezes e de várias maneiras com os nossos antepassados, por meio dos profetas,
2 laste in these daies he hath spoke to vs bi the sone; whom he hath ordeyned eir of alle thingis, and bi whom he made the worldis. (aiōn g165)
nestes últimos dias, tem falado conosco por meio do seu Filho. Deus escolheu o Filho para ser o herdeiro de tudo o que existe e fez o universo por meio dele. (aiōn g165)
3 Which whanne also he is the briytnesse of glorie, and figure of his substaunce, and berith alle thingis bi word of his vertu, he makith purgacioun of synnes, and syttith on the riythalf of the maieste in heuenes;
O Filho é a glória radiante de Deus e a expressão exata do seu verdadeiro caráter. Ele sustenta tudo por sua palavra poderosa. Depois que ele purificou os homens dos seus pecados, sentou-se à direita de Deus, a Majestade, no céu.
4 and so myche is maad betere than aungels, bi hou myche he hath eneritid a more dyuerse name bifor hem.
Ele foi colocado em uma posição muito acima daquela dos anjos, pois recebeu um nome ainda mais importante do que o deles.
5 For to whiche of the aungels seide God ony tyme, Thou art my sone, Y haue gendrid thee to dai? And eftsoone, Y schal be to hym in to a fadir, and he schal be to me in to a sone?
Deus nunca disse a qualquer anjo: “Você é o meu Filho e hoje eu me tornei o seu Pai” ou: “Eu serei um Pai para ele, e ele será um Filho para mim.”
6 And whanne eftsoone he bryngith in the firste bigetun sone in to the world, he seith, And alle the aungels of God worschipe hym.
Além disso, quando enviou ao mundo o seu Filho Primogênito, ele disse: “Que todos os anjos de Deus o adorem.”
7 But he seith to aungels, He that makith hise aungels spiritis, and hise mynystris flawme of fier.
Em relação aos anjos é dito: “Deus faz com que seus anjos se tornem ventos e os seus servos, chamas de fogo.”
8 But to the sone he seith, God, thi trone is in to the world of world; a yerde of equite is the yerde of thi rewme; (aiōn g165)
Porém, em relação ao Filho, ele diz: “O seu trono, ó Deus, dura para todo o sempre e, em seu Reino, a justiça é o cetro que representa o seu poder. (aiōn g165)
9 thou hast louyd riytwisnesse, and hatidist wickidnesse; therfor the God, thi God, anoyntide thee with oile of ioye, more than thi felowis.
Você ama o que é justo e odeia a injustiça. E é por isso que Deus, o seu Deus, colocou você acima de qualquer outro, ao ungi-lo com o azeite da alegria.”
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the bigynnyng foundidist the erthe, and heuenes ben werkis of thin hondis; thei schulen perische,
“Senhor, no início você criou a terra. Os céus são produto de suas mãos.
11 but thou schalt perfitli dwelle; and alle schulen wexe elde as a cloth, and thou schalt chaunge hem as a cloth,
Eles chegarão a um fim, mas você permanecerá para sempre. Eles vão se desgastar exatamente como acontece com as roupas,
12 and thei schulen be chaungid. But thou art the same thi silf, and thi yeeris schulen not faile.
e você irá dobrá-los como a uma capa. Como as roupas, eles serão trocados, mas você é sempre o mesmo, e a sua vida não tem fim.”
13 But to whiche of the aungels seide God at ony tyme, Sitte thou on my riythalf, till Y putte thin enemyes a stool of thi feet?
Mas, ele nunca disse isso a um anjo: “Sente-se a minha direita, até que eu coloque os seus inimigos submissos aos seus pés.”
14 Whether thei alle ben not seruynge spiritis, sente to seruen for hem that taken the eritage of heelthe?
O que são os anjos? Eles são seres que servem, enviados para ajudar aqueles que receberão a salvação.
