Genesis 5
1 This is the book of generacioun of Adam, in the dai wher ynne God made man of nouyt. God made man to the ymage and licnesse of God;
C'est ici le dénombrement de la postérité d'Adam, depuis le jour que Dieu créa l'homme, [lequel] il fit à sa ressemblance.
2 God formede hem male and female, and blesside hem, and clepide the name of hem Adam, in the day in which thei weren formed.
Il les créa mâle et femelle, et les bénit, et il leur donna le nom d'homme, le jour qu'ils furent créés.
3 Forsothe Adam lyuede an hundrid yeer and thretti, and gendride a sone to his ymage and liknesse, and clepide his name Seth.
Et Adam vécut cent trente ans, et engendra [un fils] à sa ressemblance, selon son image, et le nomma Seth.
4 And the daies of Adam after that he gendride Seth weren maad eiyte hundrid yeer, and he gendride sones and douytris.
Et les jours d'Adam, après qu'il eut engendré Seth, furent huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
5 And al the tyme in which Adam lyuede was maad nyne hundrid yeer and thretti, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc qu'Adam vécut, fut neuf cent trente ans; puis il mourut.
6 Also Seth lyuede an hundrid and fyue yeer, and gendride Enos.
Seth aussi vécut cent cinq ans, et engendra Enos.
7 And Seth lyuede aftir that he gendride Enos eiyte hundrid and seuen yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Seth, après qu'il eut engendré Enos, vécut huit cent sept ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
8 And alle the daies of Seth weren maad nyne hundrid and twelue yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Seth vécut, fut neuf cent douze ans; puis il mourut.
9 Forsothe Enos lyuede nynti yeer, and gendride Caynan;
Et Enos, ayant vécu quatre-vingt-dix ans, engendra Kénan.
10 aftir whos birthe Enos lyuede eiyte hundrid and fiftene yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Enos, après qu'il eut engendré Kénan, vécut huit cent quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
11 And alle the daies of Enos weren maad nyne hundrid and fyue yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc qu'Enos vécut, fut neuf cent cinq ans; puis il mourut.
12 Also Caynan lyuyde seuenti yeer, and gendride Malalehel.
Et Kénan ayant vécu soixante-dix ans, engendra Mahalaléel.
13 And Caynan lyuede after that he gendride Malalehel eiyte hundrid and fourti yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Kénan, après qu'il eut engendré Mahalaléel, vécut huit cent quarante ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
14 And alle the dayes of Caynan weren maad nyn hundrid and ten yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Kénan vécut, fut neuf cent dix ans; puis il mourut.
15 Forsothe Malalehel lyuede sixti yeer and fyue, and gendride Jared.
Et Mahalaléel vécut soixante-cinq ans; et il engendra Jéred.
16 And Malalehel lyuede aftir that he gendride Jared eiyte hundrid and thretti yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Mahalaléel, après qu'il eut engendré Jéred, vécut huit cent trente ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
17 And alle the daies of Malalehel weren maad eiyte hundrid nynti and fyue yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Mahalaléel vécut, fut huit cent quatre-vingt quinze ans; puis il mourut.
18 And Jared lyuede an hundrid and two and sixti yeer, and gendride Enoth.
Et Jéred ayant vécu cent soixante-deux ans, engendra Hénoc.
19 And Jared lyuede aftir that he gendride Enoth eiyte hundrid yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Jéred, après avoir engendré Hénoc, vécut huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
20 And alle the dayes of Jared weren maad nyn hundrid and twei and sexti yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Jéred vécut, fut neuf cent soixante-deux ans; puis il mourut.
21 Forsothe Enoth lyuede fyue and sixti yeer, and gendride Matusalem.
Et Hénoc vécut soixante-cinq ans, et engendra Méthuséla.
22 And Enoth yede with God; and Enoth lyuede after that he gendride Matusalem thre hundrid yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Hénoc, après qu'il eut engendré Méthuséla, marcha avec Dieu trois cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
23 And alle the daies of Enoth weren maad thre hundride and fyue and sexti yeer.
Tout le temps donc qu'Hénoc vécut, fut trois cent soixante-cinq ans.
24 And Enoth yeed with God, and apperide not afterward, for God took hym awei.
Hénoc marcha avec Dieu; mais il ne [parut] plus, parce que Dieu le prit.
25 Also Matusalem lyuede an hundrid and `fourscoor yeer and seuene, and gendride Lameth.
Et Méthuséla ayant vécu cent quatre-vingt sept ans, engendra Lémec.
26 And Matusalem lyuede after that he gendride Lameth seuene hundrid and `fourscoor yeer and twei, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Méthuséla, après qu'il eut engendré Lémec, vécut sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
27 And alle the daies of Matusale weren maad nyn hundrid and nyn and sixti yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Méthuséla vécut, fut neuf cent soixante-neuf ans; puis il mourut.
28 Forsothe Lameth lyuede an hundrid and `fourscoor yeer and two, and gendride a sone;
Lémec aussi vécut cent quatre-vingt deux ans, et il engendra un fils.
29 and clepide his name Noe, and seide, This man schal comforte vs of the werkis and traueilis of oure hondis, in the loond which the Lord curside.
Et il le nomma Noé, en disant: Celui-ci nous soulagera de notre œuvre, et du travail de nos mains, sur la terre que l'Eternel a maudite.
30 And Lameth lyuede after that he gendride Noe fyue hundrid `nynti and fyue yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
Et Lémec, après qu'il eut engendré Noé, vécut cinq cent quatre-vingt quinze ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
31 And alle the daies of Lameth weren maad seuene hundrid `thre scoor and seuentene yeer, and he was deed.
Tout le temps donc que Lémec vécut, fut sept cent soixante dix-sept ans; puis il mourut.
32 Forsothe Noe whanne he was of fyue hundrid yeer gendride Sem, Cham, and Jafeth.
Et Noé, âgé de cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, Cam, et Japheth.
