Genesis 48
1 And so whanne these thingis weren don, it was teld to Joseph, that his fadir was sijk. And he took hise twei sones, Manasses and Effraym, and he disposide to go.
Sau đó ít lâu, Giô-sép hay tin cha bị đau, ông liền dẫn hai con là Ma-na-se và Ép-ra-im đến thăm.
2 And it was seid to the elde man, Lo! thi sone Joseph cometh to thee; which was coumfortid, and sat in the bed.
Nghe Giô-sép đến, Gia-cốp cố gắng ngồi dậy trên giường.
3 And whanne Joseph entride to hym, he seide, Almyyti God apperide to me in Luza, which is in the lond of Canaan, and blesside me,
Gia-cốp bảo Giô-sép: “Đức Chúa Trời Toàn Năng đã hiện đến và ban phước cho cha tại Lu-xơ, xứ Ca-na-an.
4 and seide, Y schal encreesse and multiplie thee, and Y schal make thee in to cumpanyes of puplis, and Y schal yyue to thee this lond, and to thi seed aftir thee, in to euerlastinge possessioun.
Ngài bảo: ‘Ta sẽ làm cho con sinh sôi nẩy nở nhanh chóng và trở thành một dân tộc đông đảo. Ta sẽ ban xứ này cho dòng dõi con làm cơ nghiệp vĩnh viễn.’
5 Therfor thi twei sones, that ben borun to thee in the lond of Egipt bifore that Y cam hidir to thee, schulen be myne, Effraym and Manasses as Ruben and Symeon schulen be arettid to me;
Bây giờ, Ép-ra-im và Ma-na-se, hai đứa con trai con, đã sinh tại Ai Cập trước khi cha đến, sẽ thuộc về cha, và hưởng cơ nghiệp của cha như Ru-bên và Si-mê-ôn.
6 forsothe the othere whiche thou schalt gendre aftir hem schulen be thine; and thei schulen be clepid bi the name of her britheren in her possessiouns.
Còn những đứa con sinh sau sẽ thuộc về con và hưởng cơ nghiệp của con thế cho Ép-ra-im và Ma-na-se.
7 Forsothe whanne Y cam fro Mesopotamye, Rachel was deed to me in the lond of Canaan, in thilke weie; and it was the bigynnyng of somer; and Y entride in to Effrata, and beriede hir bisidis the weie of Effrata, which bi anothir name is clepid Bethleem.
Khi cha đi đường từ Pha-đan về Ca-na-an, gần đến Ép-ra-ta, mẹ con từ biệt cha, qua đời. Cha chôn mẹ bên con đường về Bết-lê-hem.”
8 Forsothe Jacob seiy the sones of Joseph, and seide to him, Who ben these?
Thấy hai con Giô-sép, Ít-ra-ên liền hỏi: “Các cháu đó phải không?”
9 He answeride, Thei ben my sones, whiche God yaf to me in this place. Jacob seide, Brynge hem to me that Y blesse hem.
Giô-sép thưa: “Vâng, đây là hai con trai Đức Chúa Trời đã cho con tại Ai Cập.” Gia-cốp bảo: “Dẫn lại đây để cha chúc phước lành cho hai cháu.”
10 For `the iyen of Israel, dasewiden for greet eelde, and he myyte not se clereli; and he kisside and collide tho children ioyned to hym, and seide to his sone,
Vì tuổi già, Ít-ra-ên không nhìn thấy rõ, nên Giô-sép dắt hai con lại gần cho cha ôm hôn chúng nó.
11 Y am not defraudid of thi siyt; ferthermore God schewide to me thi seed.
Ít-ra-ên nói với Giô-sép: “Trước kia, cha tưởng không bao giờ thấy lại mặt con, mà bây giờ Đức Chúa Trời cho cha thấy được các cháu nữa.”
12 And whanne Joseph hadde take hem fro `the fadris lappe, he worschipide lowe to erthe.
Giô-sép đỡ hai con ra khỏi đầu gối và khom lưng cúi mặt xuống đất.
13 And he sette Effraym on his riyt side, that is, on the lift side of Israel; forsothe he settide Manasses in his lift side, that is, on the riyt side of the fadir; and he ioynede bothe to hym.
Tay phải ông nắm Ép-ra-im để đưa sang phía trái Ít-ra-ên; tay trái ông nắm Ma-na-se để đưa sang phía tay phải của cha.
14 Which helde forth the riyt hond, and settide on `the heed of Effraym, the lesse brothir; sotheli he settide the left hond on `the heed of Manasses, that was the more thury birthe. Jacob chaungide `the hondes,
Ít-ra-ên đặt tay phải lên đầu Ép-ra-im, đứa nhỏ; và tay trái lên đầu Ma-na-se, đứa lớn.
15 and blesside his sone Joseph, and seide, God, in whos siyt my fadris Abraham and Isaac yeden; God, that fedith me fro my yong wexynge age til in to present day;
Ông chúc phước lành cho Giô-sép: “Cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời của Áp-ra-ham và Y-sác, mà tổ phụ con đã tôn thờ, là Đức Chúa Trời đã chăn dắt con từ khi ra đời cho đến nay,
16 the aungel that delyuerede me fro alle yuelis, blesse thes children, and my name be clepid on hem, and the names of my fadris Abraham and Ysaac; and wexe thei in multitude on erthe.
là thiên sứ đã giải cứu con khỏi mọi tai họa, xin ban phước lành cho hai đứa trẻ này, nguyện chúng nó nối danh con, cũng như danh Áp-ra-ham và Y-sác là các tổ phụ con, nguyện dòng dõi chúng nó gia tăng đông đảo trên mặt đất.”
17 Forsothe Joseph seiy that his fadir hadde set the riyt hond on the heed of Effraym, and took heuyli, and he enforside to reise the fadris hond takun fro the heed of Effraym, and to bere `ouer on `the heed of Manasses.
Khi thấy cha đặt tay phải lên đầu Ép-ra-im, Giô-sép không bằng lòng, nên cầm tay ấy đặt qua đầu Ma-na-se.
18 And he seide to the fadir, Fadir, it acordith not so; for this is the firste gendrid; sette thi riyt hond on the heed `of hym.
Ông nói: “Thưa cha, cha nhầm rồi. Đứa này là con trưởng, cha nên đặt tay phải lên đầu nó.”
19 Which forsook and seide, Y woot, my sone, Y woot; and sotheli this child schal be in to puplis, and he schal be multiplied; but his yonger brother schal be more than he, and `his seed schal encreesse in to folkis.
Gia-cốp không chịu: “Cha biết chứ, không phải nhầm đâu con. Ma-na-se sẽ thành một dân tộc lớn, nhưng em nó sẽ lớn hơn, dòng dõi sẽ đông đảo vô cùng.”
20 And he blesside hem in that tyme, and seide, Israel schal be blessid in thee, Joseph, and it schal be seid, God do to thee as to Effraym and as to Manasses. And he settide Effraym bifore Manasses;
Gia-cốp lại chúc phước cho hai đứa trẻ: “Vì hai cháu mà sau này người Ít-ra-ên sẽ chúc nhau: Cầu Đức Chúa Trời ban cho anh được giống như Ép-ra-im và Ma-na-se.” Vậy, Gia-cốp đặt Ép-ra-im trước Ma-na-se.
21 and seide to Joseph, his sone, Lo! Y die, and God schal be with you, and schal lede you ayen to the lond of youre fadris;
Ít-ra-ên nói với Giô-sép: “Cha sắp qua đời, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời sẽ ở với các con và đưa các con về quê hương Ca-na-an.
22 Y yyue to thee o part ouer thi britheren which Y took fro the hand of Amorei, in my swerd and bowe.
Cha sẽ cho con phần đất nhiều hơn các anh em, là đất người A-mô-rít mà cha đã chiếm được bằng cung gươm.”
