Genesis 4
1 Forsothe Adam knewe Eue his wijf, which conseyuede, and childide Cayn, and seide, Y haue gete a man bi God.
Y conoció Adán a su mujer Eva, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Caín, y dijo: He ganado varón por el SEÑOR.
2 And efte sche childide his brother Abel. Forsothe Abel was a kepere of scheep, and Cayn was an erthe tilyere.
Y otra vez dio a luz a su hermano Abel. Y fue Abel pastor de ovejas, y Caín fue labrador de la tierra.
3 Sotheli it was don after many daies, that Cayn offride yiftis to the Lord of the fruytis of erthe;
Y aconteció andando el tiempo, que Caín trajo del fruto de la tierra presente al SEÑOR.
4 and Abel offride of the first gendrid of his floc, and of the fatnesse of tho. And the Lord bihelde to Abel and to the yiftis of hym;
Y Abel trajo también de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, y de su grosura. Y miró el SEÑOR a Abel y a su presente;
5 sotheli he bihelde not to Cayn and to hise yiftis. And Cayn was wrooth greetli, and his cheer felde doun.
y a Caín y a su presente no miró. Y se ensañó Caín en gran manera, y decayó su semblante.
6 And the Lord seide to hym, Whi art thou wrooth, and whi felde doun thi face?
Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Caín: ¿Por qué te has ensañado, y por qué se ha inmutado tu rostro?
7 Whether not if thou schalt do wel, thou schalt resseyue; but if thou doist yuele, thi synne schal be present anoon in the yatis? but the desir therof schal be vndur thee, and thou schalt be lord therof.
Cierto que si bien hicieres, será acepto; y si no hicieres bien, a las puertas duerme el pecado, y a ti será su deseo, y tú te enseñorearás de él.
8 And Cayn seide to Abel his brother, Go we out. And whanne thei weren in the feeld, Cayn roos ayens his brother Abel, and killide him.
Y habló Caín a su hermano Abel; y aconteció que estando ellos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra su hermano Abel, y le mató.
9 And the Lord seide to Cayn, Where is Abel thi brother? Which answerde, Y woot not; whether Y am the kepere of my brothir?
Y El SEÑOR dijo a Caín: ¿Dónde está Abel tu hermano? Y él respondió: No sé; ¿soy yo guarda de mi hermano?
10 And God seide to Cayn, What hast thou do? the vois of the blood of thi brother crieth to me fro erthe.
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama a mí desde la tierra.
11 Now therfor thou schalt be cursid on erthe, that openyde his mouth, and resseyuede of thin hond the blood of thi brothir.
Ahora pues, maldito seas tú de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir la sangre de tu hermano de tu mano:
12 Whanne thou schalt worche the erthe, it schal not yyue his fruytis to thee; thou schalt be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute on erthe in alle the daies of thi lijf.
Cuando labrares la tierra, no te volverá a dar su fuerza; vagabundo y extranjero serás en la tierra.
13 And Cayn seide to the Lord, My wickidnesse is more than that Y disserue foryyuenesse; lo!
Y dijo Caín al SEÑOR: Grande es mi iniquidad para perdonar.
14 to dai thou castist me out fro the face of the erthe; and Y schal be hid fro thi face, and Y schal be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute in erthe; therfore ech man that schal fynde me schal slee me.
He aquí me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y de tu presencia me esconderé; y seré vagabundo y extranjero en la tierra; y será que cualquiera que me hallare, me matará.
15 And the Lord seide to hym, It schal not be don so, but ech man that schal slee Cayn shal be punyschid seuenfold. And the Lord settide a signe in Cayn, that ech man that schulde fynde hym schulde not slee hym.
Y le respondió el SEÑOR: Cierto que cualquiera que matare a Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces el SEÑOR puso señal en Caín, para que no lo hiriese cualquiera que le hallara.
16 And Cayn yede out fro the face of the Lord, and dwellide fleynge aboute in erthe, at the eest coost of Eden.
Y salió Caín de delante del SEÑOR, y habitó en tierra de Nod, al oriente de Edén.
17 Forsothe Cayn knewe his wiif, which conseyuede, and childide Enoth; and Cayn bildide a citee, and clepide the name therof of the name of hise sone Enoth.
Y conoció Caín a su mujer, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Enoc; y edificó una ciudad, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad del nombre de su hijo, Enoc.
18 Forsothe Enoth gendride Irad, and Irad gendride Manyael, and Manyael gendride Matusael, and Matusael gendride Lameth;
Y a Enoc nació Irad, e Irad engendró a Mehujael, y Mehujael engendró a Metusael, y Metusael engendró a Lamec.
19 that took twei wyues, the name to o wijf was Ada, and the name to the tother was Sella.
Y tomó para sí Lamec dos mujeres: el nombre de la una fue Ada, y el nombre de la otra Zila.
20 And Ada gendride Jabel, that was the fadir of dwellers in tentis and of shepherdis;
Y Ada dio a luz a Jabal, el cual fue padre de los que habitan en tiendas, y crían ganados.
21 and the name of his brother was Tubal, he was the fadir of syngeris in harpe and orgun.
Y el nombre de su hermano fue Jubal, el cual fue padre de todos los que tocan arpa y órgano.
22 And Sella gendride Tubalcayn, that was an hamerbetere, and smyyt on alle werkis of bras and of yrun; forsothe the sistir of Tubalcayn was Neoma.
Y Zila también dio a luz a Tubal-Caín, acicalador de toda obra de bronce y de hierro: y la hermana de Tubal-Caín fue Naama.
23 And Lameth seide to his wyues Ada and Sella, Ye wyues of Lameth, here my vois, and herkne my word; for Y haue slayn a man bi my wounde, and a yong wexynge man bi my `violent betyng;
Y dijo Lamec a sus mujeres: Ada y Zila, oíd mi voz; mujeres de Lamec, escuchad mi dicho: Que varón mataré por mi herida, y un joven por mi golpe;
24 veniaunce schal be youun seuenfold of Cayn, forsothe of Lameth seuentisithis seuensithis.
que siete veces será vengado Caín, mas Lamec setenta veces siete.
25 Also yit Adam knewe his wijf, and sche childide a sone, and clepide his name Seth, and seide, God hath put to me another seed for Abel, whom Cayn killide.
Y conoció aún Adán a su mujer, la cual dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Set; porque Dios (dijo ella) me ha dado otra simiente por Abel, al cual mató Caín.
26 But also a sone was borun to Seth, which sone he clepide Enos; this Enos bigan to clepe inwardli the name of the Lord.
Y a Set también le nació un hijo, y llamó su nombre Enós. Entonces comenzó a ser invocado el nombre del SEÑOR.
