Genesis 4
1 Forsothe Adam knewe Eue his wijf, which conseyuede, and childide Cayn, and seide, Y haue gete a man bi God.
੧ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੱਵਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
2 And efte sche childide his brother Abel. Forsothe Abel was a kepere of scheep, and Cayn was an erthe tilyere.
੨ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਹਾਬਲ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਜੜੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
3 Sotheli it was don after many daies, that Cayn offride yiftis to the Lord of the fruytis of erthe;
੩ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਇਨ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਤੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
4 and Abel offride of the first gendrid of his floc, and of the fatnesse of tho. And the Lord bihelde to Abel and to the yiftis of hym;
੪ਹਾਬਲ ਵੀ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੌਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
5 sotheli he bihelde not to Cayn and to hise yiftis. And Cayn was wrooth greetli, and his cheer felde doun.
੫ਪਰ ਕਾਇਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਇਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
6 And the Lord seide to hym, Whi art thou wrooth, and whi felde doun thi face?
੬ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਛਾਈ ਹੈ?
7 Whether not if thou schalt do wel, thou schalt resseyue; but if thou doist yuele, thi synne schal be present anoon in the yatis? but the desir therof schal be vndur thee, and thou schalt be lord therof.
੭ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਭੇਟ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਬਲ ਹੋ।
8 And Cayn seide to Abel his brother, Go we out. And whanne thei weren in the feeld, Cayn roos ayens his brother Abel, and killide him.
੮ਫੇਰ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
9 And the Lord seide to Cayn, Where is Abel thi brother? Which answerde, Y woot not; whether Y am the kepere of my brothir?
੯ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਹਾਬਲ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ? ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਭਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਰਾਖ਼ਾ ਹਾਂ?
10 And God seide to Cayn, What hast thou do? the vois of the blood of thi brother crieth to me fro erthe.
੧੦ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
11 Now therfor thou schalt be cursid on erthe, that openyde his mouth, and resseyuede of thin hond the blood of thi brothir.
੧੧ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਰਾਪੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।
12 Whanne thou schalt worche the erthe, it schal not yyue his fruytis to thee; thou schalt be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute on erthe in alle the daies of thi lijf.
੧੨ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਹੀ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।
13 And Cayn seide to the Lord, My wickidnesse is more than that Y disserue foryyuenesse; lo!
੧੩ਕਾਇਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ।
14 to dai thou castist me out fro the face of the erthe; and Y schal be hid fro thi face, and Y schal be vnstable of dwellyng and fleynge aboute in erthe; therfore ech man that schal fynde me schal slee me.
੧੪ਵੇਖ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਦੁਰਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਲੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇਗਾ।
15 And the Lord seide to hym, It schal not be don so, but ech man that schal slee Cayn shal be punyschid seuenfold. And the Lord settide a signe in Cayn, that ech man that schulde fynde hym schulde not slee hym.
੧੫ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਤ ਗੁਣਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ।
16 And Cayn yede out fro the face of the Lord, and dwellide fleynge aboute in erthe, at the eest coost of Eden.
੧੬ਸੋ ਕਾਇਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੋਂ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਨ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਨੋਦ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੱਸ ਗਿਆ।
17 Forsothe Cayn knewe his wiif, which conseyuede, and childide Enoth; and Cayn bildide a citee, and clepide the name therof of the name of hise sone Enoth.
੧੭ਕਾਇਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਨੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਨੋਕ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
18 Forsothe Enoth gendride Irad, and Irad gendride Manyael, and Manyael gendride Matusael, and Matusael gendride Lameth;
੧੮ਹਨੋਕ ਤੋਂ ਈਰਾਦ ਜੰਮਿਆ, ਈਰਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਹੂਯਾਏਲ ਜੰਮਿਆ, ਮਹੂਯਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਮਥੂਸ਼ਾਏਲ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਥੂਸ਼ਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਮਕ ਜੰਮਿਆ।
19 that took twei wyues, the name to o wijf was Ada, and the name to the tother was Sella.
੧੯ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ, ਇੱਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਦਾਹ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜ਼ਿੱਲਾਹ ਸੀ।
20 And Ada gendride Jabel, that was the fadir of dwellers in tentis and of shepherdis;
੨੦ਆਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੰਬੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪਾਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
21 and the name of his brother was Tubal, he was the fadir of syngeris in harpe and orgun.
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜ਼ੂਬਲ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਰਬਤ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਨ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
22 And Sella gendride Tubalcayn, that was an hamerbetere, and smyyt on alle werkis of bras and of yrun; forsothe the sistir of Tubalcayn was Neoma.
੨੨ਜ਼ਿੱਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਤੂਬਲ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਲੋਹੇ, ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਢਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਬਲ ਕਾਇਨ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਨਾਮਾਹ ਸੀ।
23 And Lameth seide to his wyues Ada and Sella, Ye wyues of Lameth, here my vois, and herkne my word; for Y haue slayn a man bi my wounde, and a yong wexynge man bi my `violent betyng;
੨੩ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ - ਆਦਾਹ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੱਲਾਹ, ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ, ਹੇ ਲਾਮਕ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਤੇ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਓ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੱਟੜ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਭਰੂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਟ ਮਾਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
24 veniaunce schal be youun seuenfold of Cayn, forsothe of Lameth seuentisithis seuensithis.
੨੪ਜੇ ਕਾਇਨ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਸੱਤ ਗੁਣਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਲਾਮਕ ਦਾ ਸਤੱਤਰ ਗੁਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
25 Also yit Adam knewe his wijf, and sche childide a sone, and clepide his name Seth, and seide, God hath put to me another seed for Abel, whom Cayn killide.
੨੫ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੇਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਨ ਨੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ।
26 But also a sone was borun to Seth, which sone he clepide Enos; this Enos bigan to clepe inwardli the name of the Lord.
੨੬ਅਤੇ ਸੇਥ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੋਸ਼ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
