Genesis 35
1 Yn the mene tyme the Lord spak to Jacob, Ryse thou, and stie to Bethel, and dwelle thou there, and make thou an auter to the Lord, that apperide to thee whanne thou fleddist Esau, thi brother.
Đức Chúa Trời phán cùng Gia-cốp rằng: Hãy chổi dậy, đi lên Bê-tên mà ở, và hãy lập nơi đó một bàn thờ cho Đức Chúa Trời, là Đấng hiện ra cùng ngươi đang lúc chạy trốn khỏi Ê-sau, anh ngươi.
2 Forsothe Jacob seide, whanne al his hous was clepid to gidere, Caste ye a wei alien goddis, that ben `in the myddis of you, and be ye clensid, and chaunge ye youre clothis;
Gia-cốp bèn nói cùng vợ con và mọi kẻ đi theo mình rằng: Hãy dẹp các tượng thần ngoại bang khỏi giữa các ngươi, làm cho mình được thanh sạch và thay áo xống đi.
3 rise ye, and stie we into Bethel, that we make there an auter to the Lord, which herde me in the dai of my tribulacioun, and was felowe of my weie.
Đoạn, chúng ta hãy chổi dậy, đi đến Bê-tên, nơi đó ta sẽ lập một bàn thờ cho Đức Chúa Trời, là Đấng đã trả lời ta trong lúc nguy hiểm, và đã phù hộ ta trong khi đi đường.
4 Therfor thei yauen to hym alle alien goddis which thei hadden, and eere ryngis, that weren in `the eeris of hem; and he deluyde tho vndur a `tre, clepid therubynte, which is bihynde the citee of Sichem.
Họ bèn đưa cho Gia-cốp các tượng thần ngoại bang của mình, và các vòng đeo nơi tai; rồi người chôn mấy vật đó dưới gốc cây dẻ bộp, gần thành Si-chem.
5 And whanne thei yeden, drede assailide alle men by cumpas of the citee, and thei weren not hardi to pursue hem goynge a wei.
Đoạn, chúng khởi hành. Đức Chúa Trời bèn giáng sự kinh hãi cho các thành ở chung quanh đó, nên họ chẳng dám đuổi theo các con trai của Gia-cốp.
6 Therfor Jacob cam to Lusa, which is in the lond of Canaan, bi `sire name Bethel, he and al his puple with hym.
Gia-cốp cùng mọi kẻ đi theo đến tại Lu-xơ (là thành Bê-tên), thuộc về xứ Ca-na-an.
7 And he bildide there an auter to the Lord, and clepide the name of that place The hows of God, for God apperide there to hym, whanne he fledde his brothir.
Người lập tại đó một bàn thờ, đặt tên chốn nầy Eân-Bê-tên, vì là nơi Đức Chúa Trời đã hiện ra cùng người trong lúc chạy trốn khỏi anh mình.
8 Delbora, the nurische of Rebecca, diede in the same tyme, and sche was biried at the roote of Bethel, vndir an ook, and the name of the place was clepid The ook of wepyng.
Khi đó Đê-bô-ra, mụ vú của Rê-be-ca, qua đời, được chôn thân dưới thành Bê-tên tại gốc dẻ bộp; nhân đó người ta gọi là cây A-lôn-Ba-cút.
9 Forsothe God apperide eft to Jacob, aftir that he turnede ayen fro Mesopotanye of Sirie, and cam into Bethel, and blesside hym,
Khi ở xứ Pha-đan-A-ram đến, Đức Chúa Trời lại hiện ra cùng Gia-cốp nữa, ban phước cho người,
10 and seide, Thou schalt no more be clepid Jacob, but Israel schal be thi name. And God clepide hym Israel, and seide to hym,
và phán rằng: Tên ngươi là Gia-cốp, sau nầy sẽ chẳng gọi Gia-cốp nữa, nhưng sẽ đặt là Y-sơ-ra-ên. Rồi Ngài đặt tên người là Y-sơ-ra-ên.
11 Y am God Almyyti, encreesse thou, and be thou multiplied, folkis and puplis of naciouns schulen be of thee, kyngis schulen go out of thi leendis;
Đức Chúa Trời lại phán rằng: Ta là Đức Chúa Trời toàn năng; ngươi hãy sanh sản và thêm nhiều; một dân cho đến nhiều dân đều sẽ do nơi ngươi mà sanh, cùng các vua sẽ do nơi mình ngươi mà ra.
12 and Y shal yyue to thee, and to thi seed after thee, the lond which Y yaf to Abraham, and Ysaac.
Xứ ta đã cho Aùp-ra-ham và Y-sác thì ta sẽ cho ngươi cùng dòng dõi ngươi.
13 And God departide fro hym.
Đức Chúa Trời bèn ngự lên khỏi nơi Ngài đã phán cùng Gia-cốp.
14 Forsothe Jacob reiside a title ether memorial of stoonys, in the place where ynne God spak to hym, and he sacrifiede ther onne fletynge sacrifices, and schedde out oile,
Người dựng một cây trụ đá tại nơi Đức Chúa Trời đã phán cùng mình, dâng lễ quán và tưới dầu vào.
15 and clepide the name of that place Bethel.
Đoạn, Gia-cốp đặt tên nơi Đức Chúa Trời đã phán cùng mình là Bê-tên.
16 Forsothe Jacob yede out fro thennus, and cam in the bigynnynge of somer to the lond that ledith to Effrata; in which lond whanne Rachel trauelide in child beryng,
ỳ từ Bê-tên đi, họ còn cách Ê-phơ-rát chừng vài thôi đường, thì Ra-chên sanh nở. Việc sanh nở của người thật đau đớn.
17 sche bigan to be in perel for the hardnesse of childberyng; and the medewijf seide to hir, Nyle thou drede, for thou schalt haue also this sone.
Trong khi khó sanh, bà mụ nói rằng: Đừng sợ chi, vì nàng còn một con trai nữa.
18 Forsothe while the soule yede out for sorew, and deeth neiyede thanne, she clepide the name of hir sone Bennony, that is, the sone of my sorewe; forsothe the fadir clepide hym Beniamyn, that is the sone of the riyt side.
Vả, bởi Ra-chên gần trút linh hồn, vì đang cơn hấp hối, nên người đặt đứa con trai đó tên là Bê-nô-ni; còn cha nó lại đặt tên là Bên-gia-min.
19 Therfor Rachel diede, and was biriede in the weie that ledith to Effrata, this is Bethleem.
Vậy, Ra-chên qua đời, được chôn bên con đường đi về Ê-phơ-rát, tức là Bết-lê-hem.
20 And Jacob bildide a title on the sepulcre of hir; this is the title of biriel of Rachel `til into present dai.
Gia-cốp dựng một mộ-bia; ấy là mộ-bia của Ra-chên đến ngày nay hãy còn di tích.
21 Jacob yede fro thennus, and settide tabernacle ouer the tour of the flok.
Kế đó, Y-sơ-ra-ên đi, đóng trại ở ngoài nơi tháp Ê-đe.
22 And while he dwellide in that cuntrei, Ruben yede, and slepte with Bala, the secundarie wijf of his fadir, which thing was not hid fro hym. Forsothe the sones of Jacob weren twelue;
Vả, nhầm khi Y-sơ-ra-ên ngụ tại xứ nầy, thì Ru-bên có đến nằm cùng Bi-la, vợ lẽ của cha mình; Y-sơ-ra-ên hay được việc đó.
23 the sones of Lia weren, the firste gendrid Ruben, and Symeon, and Leuy, and Judas, and Isachar, and Zabulon;
Vả, Gia-cốp có được mười hai con trai. Con của Lê-a là Ru-bên, trưởng nam của Gia-cốp; kế nữa là Si-mê-ôn, Lê-vi, Giu-đa, Y-sa-ca và Sa-bu-lôn.
24 the sones of Rachel weren, Joseph and Beniamyn;
Con của Ra-chên là Giô-sép và Bên-gia-min.
25 the sones of Bala, handmayde of Rachel, weren Dan, and Neptalym;
Con của Bi-la, đòi của Ra-chên là Đan và Nép-ta-li;
26 the sones of Zelfa, handmayde of Lya, weren Gad, and Aser. These weren the sones of Jacob, that weren borun to hym in Mesopotanye of Sirie.
và con của Xinh-ba, đòi của Lê-a, là Gát và A-se. Aáy đó là các con trai của Gia-cốp sanh tại xứ Pha-đan-A-ram.
27 Also Jacob came to Isaac, his fadir, in to Manbre, a citee Arabee, this is Ebron, in which Manbre Abraham `and Isaac was a pylgrym.
Gia-cốp đến cùng Y-sác, cha mình, ở Mam-rê, tại thành Ki-ri-át-A-ra-ba, tức là Hếp-rôn, nơi Aùp-ra-ham và Y-sác đã kiều ngụ.
28 And the daies of Isaac weren fillid an hundrid and foure scoore of yeris;
Y-sác hưởng thọ được một trăm tám mươi tuổi.
29 and he was wastid in age, and diede, and he was put to his puple, and was eeld, and ful of daies; and Esau and Jacob his sones birieden hym.
Người tuổi cao tác lớn, thỏa mãn về đời mình, tắt hơi, được về cùng tổ phụ. Ê-sau và Gia-cốp, hai con trai, chôn người.
