Genesis 35
1 Yn the mene tyme the Lord spak to Jacob, Ryse thou, and stie to Bethel, and dwelle thou there, and make thou an auter to the Lord, that apperide to thee whanne thou fleddist Esau, thi brother.
Allah berkata kepada Yakub, “Bersiaplah dan kembalilah ke Betel, di mana Aku berjumpa denganmu pada waktu kamu melarikan diri dari kakakmu Esau. Buatlah sebuah mezbah untuk-Ku di tempat itu, dan tinggallah di sana.”
2 Forsothe Jacob seide, whanne al his hous was clepid to gidere, Caste ye a wei alien goddis, that ben `in the myddis of you, and be ye clensid, and chaunge ye youre clothis;
Maka Yakub berkata kepada seluruh anggota keluarganya dan semua orang yang bersama-sama dengan dia, “Singkirkanlah semua patung berhala asing yang ada padamu. Bersihkanlah diri kalian, lalu kenakan pakaian yang bersih juga.
3 rise ye, and stie we into Bethel, that we make there an auter to the Lord, which herde me in the dai of my tribulacioun, and was felowe of my weie.
Marilah kita bersiap-siap pergi ke Betel. Di sana, aku hendak mendirikan mezbah untuk Allah, yang selalu menolongku saat aku kesulitan dan selalu menyertaiku ke mana pun aku pergi.”
4 Therfor thei yauen to hym alle alien goddis which thei hadden, and eere ryngis, that weren in `the eeris of hem; and he deluyde tho vndur a `tre, clepid therubynte, which is bihynde the citee of Sichem.
Lalu mereka menyerahkan kepada Yakub semua patung berhala asing yang ada pada mereka, juga anting-anting di telinga mereka. Yakub mengubur semua benda itu di bawah sebuah pohon besar dekat kota Sikem.
5 And whanne thei yeden, drede assailide alle men by cumpas of the citee, and thei weren not hardi to pursue hem goynge a wei.
Pada waktu Yakub dan rombongan keluarganya berangkat, Allah mendatangkan rasa takut yang hebat atas seluruh penduduk kota-kota sekitar, sehingga tidak ada seorang pun yang berani mengejar mereka.
6 Therfor Jacob cam to Lusa, which is in the lond of Canaan, bi `sire name Bethel, he and al his puple with hym.
Keluarga Yakub tiba di tempat bernama Lus, yang disebut Betel, di Kanaan.
7 And he bildide there an auter to the Lord, and clepide the name of that place The hows of God, for God apperide there to hym, whanne he fledde his brothir.
Di sana, Yakub membuat sebuah mezbah dan menamai tempat itu El Betel, karena di situlah Allah sudah menjumpainya ketika dia lari dari Esau, kakaknya.
8 Delbora, the nurische of Rebecca, diede in the same tyme, and sche was biried at the roote of Bethel, vndir an ook, and the name of the place was clepid The ook of wepyng.
Di tempat itu jugalah Debora, pengasuh Ribka, meninggal dunia. Dia dikuburkan di bawah pohon besar yang di dataran rendah dekat Betel. Sejak saat itu, pohon tersebut dinamai Alon Bakut.
9 Forsothe God apperide eft to Jacob, aftir that he turnede ayen fro Mesopotanye of Sirie, and cam into Bethel, and blesside hym,
Saat Yakub kembali dari Padan Aram, Allah menjumpai dia lagi dan memberkatinya.
10 and seide, Thou schalt no more be clepid Jacob, but Israel schal be thi name. And God clepide hym Israel, and seide to hym,
Kata Allah kepadanya, “Namamu memang Yakub, tetapi mulai sekarang Aku memberi nama baru kepadamu. Kamu akan dikenal dengan nama Israel.
11 Y am God Almyyti, encreesse thou, and be thou multiplied, folkis and puplis of naciouns schulen be of thee, kyngis schulen go out of thi leendis;
Aku, Allah Yang Mahakuasa, memberkatimu supaya kamu beranak cucu hingga menjadi banyak. Bangsa-bangsa akan lahir dari keturunanmu dan kamu akan menjadi leluhur para raja.
12 and Y shal yyue to thee, and to thi seed after thee, the lond which Y yaf to Abraham, and Ysaac.
Tanah yang sudah Aku berikan kepada Abraham dan Isak, akan Aku berikan kepadamu dan keturunanmu.”
13 And God departide fro hym.
Sesudah Allah selesai berbicara kepada Yakub, Dia kembali ke surga.
14 Forsothe Jacob reiside a title ether memorial of stoonys, in the place where ynne God spak to hym, and he sacrifiede ther onne fletynge sacrifices, and schedde out oile,
Lalu Yakub mendirikan sebuah batu sebagai peringatan bahwa di tempat itulah Allah sudah berbicara kepadanya. Yakub menuangkan persembahan air anggur dan minyak zaitun di atas batu tersebut.
15 and clepide the name of that place Bethel.
Yakub menamai tempat itu Betel, karena di situ Allah sudah berbicara kepadanya.
16 Forsothe Jacob yede out fro thennus, and cam in the bigynnynge of somer to the lond that ledith to Effrata; in which lond whanne Rachel trauelide in child beryng,
Kemudian mereka meninggalkan Betel dan melanjutkan perjalanan menuju Efrata. Tetapi sebelum tiba di Efrata, Rahel merasakan sakit menjelang persalinan. Dan persalinannya pun sangat sulit.
17 sche bigan to be in perel for the hardnesse of childberyng; and the medewijf seide to hir, Nyle thou drede, for thou schalt haue also this sone.
Pada titik paling berat dalam persalinannya itu, bidan berkata kepadanya, “Jangan takut, karena kamu melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki.”
18 Forsothe while the soule yede out for sorew, and deeth neiyede thanne, she clepide the name of hir sone Bennony, that is, the sone of my sorewe; forsothe the fadir clepide hym Beniamyn, that is the sone of the riyt side.
Sambil menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya, Rahel menamai anaknya yang baru lahir itu Ben Oni, tetapi Yakub menamainya Benyamin.
19 Therfor Rachel diede, and was biriede in the weie that ledith to Effrata, this is Bethleem.
Sesudah Rahel meninggal, dia dikuburkan di suatu tempat di jalan menuju Efrata, yang juga disebut Betlehem.
20 And Jacob bildide a title on the sepulcre of hir; this is the title of biriel of Rachel `til into present dai.
Yakub mendirikan sebuah batu peringatan di kuburannya, dan batu itu masih ada sampai kitab ini ditulis.
21 Jacob yede fro thennus, and settide tabernacle ouer the tour of the flok.
Sesudah itu, Yakub meneruskan perjalanan sampai di bagian selatan menara Eder dan mendirikan kemahnya di sana.
22 And while he dwellide in that cuntrei, Ruben yede, and slepte with Bala, the secundarie wijf of his fadir, which thing was not hid fro hym. Forsothe the sones of Jacob weren twelue;
Sewaktu Yakub tinggal di sana, Ruben tidur dengan Bilha, budak Rahel yang diperistri Yakub. Berita itu pun sampai kepada Yakub. Inilah kedua belas anak laki-laki Yakub:
23 the sones of Lia weren, the firste gendrid Ruben, and Symeon, and Leuy, and Judas, and Isachar, and Zabulon;
Anak-anaknya dari Lea adalah Ruben (anak sulung), Simeon, Lewi, Yehuda, Isakar, dan Zebulon.
24 the sones of Rachel weren, Joseph and Beniamyn;
Anak-anaknya dari Rahel adalah Yusuf dan Benyamin.
25 the sones of Bala, handmayde of Rachel, weren Dan, and Neptalym;
Anak-anaknya dari Bilha, budak Rahel, adalah Dan serta Naftali.
26 the sones of Zelfa, handmayde of Lya, weren Gad, and Aser. These weren the sones of Jacob, that weren borun to hym in Mesopotanye of Sirie.
Anak-anaknya dari Zilpa, budak Lea, adalah Gad dan Asyer. Itulah semua anak laki-laki Yakub yang lahir di Padan Aram.
27 Also Jacob came to Isaac, his fadir, in to Manbre, a citee Arabee, this is Ebron, in which Manbre Abraham `and Isaac was a pylgrym.
Yakub kembali kepada Isak, ayahnya, di Mamre yang juga disebut Kiryat Arba dan sekarang dikenal dengan nama Hebron. Kakeknya (Abraham) dahulu menetap di sana juga.
28 And the daies of Isaac weren fillid an hundrid and foure scoore of yeris;
Isak meninggal pada usia yang sangat tua, 180 tahun. Lalu TUHAN menempatkan dia bersama dengan nenek moyangnya yang sudah meninggal dunia. Esau dan Yakub menguburkan dia.
29 and he was wastid in age, and diede, and he was put to his puple, and was eeld, and ful of daies; and Esau and Jacob his sones birieden hym.
