Genesis 29
1 Therfor Jacob passide forth, and cam in to the eest lond;
Y alzó Jacob sus pies; y fue a la tierra de los hijos de oriente.
2 and seiy a pit in the feeld, and thre flockis of scheep restynge bisidis it, for whi scheep weren watrid therof, and the mouth therof was closid with a greet stoon.
Y miró, y vio un pozo en el campo: y he aquí tres rebaños de ovejas, que yacían cerca de él; porque de aquel pozo abrevaban los ganados: y había una gran piedra sobre la boca del pozo.
3 And the custom was that whanne alle scheep weren gaderid togidere, thei schulden turne awei the stoon, and whanne the flockis weren fillid thei schulden put it eft on the mouth of the pit.
Y juntábanse allí todos los rebaños, y revolvían la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevaban las ovejas, y volvían la piedra sobre la boca del pozo a su lugar.
4 And Jacob seide to the scheepherdis, Brithren, of whennus ben ye? Whiche answeriden, Of Aran.
Y díjoles Jacob: Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde sois? Y ellos respondieron: De Harán somos.
5 And he axide hem and seide, Wher ye knowen Laban, the sone of Nachor? Thei seiden, We knowen.
Y él les dijo: ¿Conocéis a Labán, hijo de Nacor? Y ellos dijeron: Sí, le conocemos.
6 Jacob seide, Is he hool? Thei seiden, He is in good staat; and lo! Rachel, his douytir, cometh with his flok.
Y él les dijo: ¿Tiene paz? Y ellos dijeron: Paz: y, he aquí, Raquel su hija viene con el ganado.
7 And Jacob seide, Yit myche of the dai is to come, and it is not tyme that the flockis be led ayen to the fooldis; sotheli yyue ye drynk to the scheep, and so lede ye hem ayen to mete.
Y él dijo: He aquí, aun el día es grande: no es aun tiempo de recoger el ganado, abrevad las ovejas, e id a apacentar.
8 Whiche answeriden, We moun not til alle scheep be gederid to gidere, and til we remouen the stoon fro the mouth of the pit to watir the flockis.
Y ellos respondieron: No podemos, hasta que se junten todos los rebaños, y revuelvan la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, para que abrevemos las ovejas.
9 Yit thei spaken, and lo! Rachel cam with the scheep of hir fadir.
Estando aun él hablando con ellos, Raquel vino con el ganado de su padre, porque ella era la pastora.
10 And whanne Jacob seiy hir, and knewe the douytir of his modris brothir, and the scheep of Laban his vncle, he remeuyde the stoon with which the pit was closid;
Y fue, que como Jacob vio a Raquel, hija de Labán hermano de su madre, y a las ovejas de Labán el hermano de su madre, llegó Jacob, y revolvió la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevó el ganado de Labán hermano de su madre.
11 and whanne the flok was watrid, he kisside hir, and he wepte with `vois reisid.
Y Jacob besó a Raquel, y alzó su voz, y lloró:
12 And he schewide to hir that he was the brothir of hir fadir, and the sone of Rebecca; and sche hastide, and telde to hir fadir.
Y Jacob dijo a Raquel, como era hermano de su padre, y como era hijo de Rebeca: y ella corrió, y dio las nuevas a su padre.
13 And whanne he hadde herd, that Jacob, the sone of his sistir, cam, he ran ayens hym, and he biclippide Jacob and kisside hym, and ledde in to his hows. Forsothe whanne the causis of the iurney weren herd,
Y fue, que como oyó Labán las nuevas de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió a recibirle; y abrazóle, y besóle, y trájole a su casa: y él contó a Labán todas estas cosas.
14 Laban answeride, Thou art my boon and my fleisch. And aftir that the daies of o moneth weren fillid, Laban seide to him,
Y Labán le dijo: Ciertamente hueso mío, y carne mía eres. Y estuvo con él un mes de tiempo.
15 `Whethir for thou art my brothir, thou schalt serue me frely? seie thou what mede thou schalt take.
Y dijo Labán a Jacob: ¿Por ser tú mi hermano, me has de servir de balde? Declárame qué será tu salario.
16 Forsothe Laban hadde twei douytris, the name of the more was Lya, sotheli the lesse was clepid Rachel;
Y Labán tenía dos hijas: el nombre de la mayor era Lia: y el nombre de la menor, Raquel.
17 but Lya was blere iyed, Rachel was of fair face, and semeli in siyt.
Y los ojos de Lia eran tiernos; y Raquel era de hermoso semblante, y de hermoso parecer.
18 And Jacob louede Rachel, and seide, Y schal serue thee seuene yeer for Rachel thi lesse douytir.
Y Jacob amó a Raquel, y dijo: Yo te serviré siete años por Raquel, tu hija menor.
19 Laban answeride, It is betere that Y yyue hir to thee than to anothir man; dwelle thou at me.
Y Labán respondió: Mejor es que te la dé a ti, que no que la dé a otro varón: está conmigo.
20 Therfor Jacob seruyde seuene yeer for Rachel; and the daies semyden fewe to hym for the greetnesse of loue.
Así sirvió Jacob por Raquel siete años, y pareciéronle como pocos días, porque la amaba.
21 And he seide to Laban, Yyue thou my wijf to me, for the tyme is fillid that Y entre to hir.
Y dijo Jacob a Labán: Dáme mi mujer, porque mi tiempo es cumplido, para que entre a ella.
22 And whanne many cumpenyes of freendis weren clepid to the feeste, he made weddyngis,
Entonces Labán congregó a todos los varones de aquel lugar, e hizo banquete.
23 and in the euentid Laban brouyte in to hym Lya his douytir,
Y fue, que a la tarde tomó a Lia su hija, y trájola a él, y él entró a ella.
24 and yaf an handmaide, Selfa bi name, to the douyter. And whanne Jacob hadde entrid to hir bi custom, whanne the morewtid was maad, he seiy Lya,
Y dio Labán a Zelfa su sierva a su hija Lia por sierva.
25 and seide to his wyues fadir, What is it that thou woldist do? wher Y seruede not thee for Rachel? whi hast thou disseyued me?
Y venida la mañana, he aquí que era Lia, y él dijo a Labán: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho? ¿No te he servido por Raquel? ¿por qué pues me has engañado?
26 Laban answerde, It is not custom in oure place that we yyue first the `lesse douytris to weddyngis;
Y Labán respondió: No se hace así en nuestro lugar, que se dé la menor antes de la mayor.
27 fille thou the wouke of daies of this couplyng, and Y schal yyue to thee also this Rachel, for the werk in which thou schalt serue me bi othere seuene yeer.
Cumple la semana de esta, y dársete ha también esta por el servicio que sirvieres conmigo otros siete años.
28 Jacob assentide to the couenaunt, and whanne the wouke was passid,
E hizo Jacob así, que cumplió la semana de aquella, y él le dio a Raquel su hija por mujer.
29 he weddide Rachel, to whom the fadir hadde youe Bala seruauntesse.
Y dio Labán a Raquel su hija, a Bala su sierva por sierva.
30 And at the laste he vside the weddyngis desirid, and settide the loue of the `wijf suynge bifore the former; and he seruede at Laban seuene othere yeer.
Y entró también a Raquel, y la amó también más que a Lia: y sirvió con él aun otros siete años.
31 Forsothe the Lord seiy that he dispiside Lya, and openyde hir wombe while the sistir dwellide bareyn.
Y vio Jehová que Lia era aborrecida, y abrió su matriz; y Raquel era estéril.
32 And Lia childide a sone conseyued, and clepide his name Ruben, and seide, The Lord seiy my mekenesse; now myn hosebonde schal loue me.
Y concibió Lia, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Rubén, porque dijo: Porque vio Jehová mi aflicción; por tanto ahora me amará mi marido.
33 And eft sche conseyuede, `and childide a sone, and seide, For the Lord seiy that Y was dispisid, he yaf also this sone to me; and sche clepide his name Symeon.
Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Porque oyó Jehová, que yo era aborrecida, me ha dado también este. Y llamó su nombre Simeón.
34 And sche conseyuede the thridde tyme, and childide anothir sone, and she seide also, Now myn hosebonde schal be couplid to me, for Y childide thre sones to him; and therfor sche clepide his name Leuy.
Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Ahora esta vez será juntado mi marido conmigo, porque le he parido tres hijos: por tanto llamó su nombre Leví.
35 The fourthe tyme sche conseyuede, and childide a sone, and seide, Now I schal knouleche to the Lord; and herfor she clepide his name Judas; and ceesside to childe.
Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré a Jehová. Por eso llamó su nombre Judá: y dejó de parir.
