< Genesis 29 >
1 Therfor Jacob passide forth, and cam in to the eest lond;
and to lift: journey Jacob foot his and to go: come land: country/planet [to] son: descendant/people front: east
2 and seiy a pit in the feeld, and thre flockis of scheep restynge bisidis it, for whi scheep weren watrid therof, and the mouth therof was closid with a greet stoon.
and to see: see and behold well in/on/with land: country and behold there three flock flock to stretch upon her for from [the] well [the] he/she/it to water: watering [the] flock and [the] stone great: large upon lip [the] well
3 And the custom was that whanne alle scheep weren gaderid togidere, thei schulden turne awei the stoon, and whanne the flockis weren fillid thei schulden put it eft on the mouth of the pit.
and to gather there [to] all [the] flock and to roll [obj] [the] stone from upon lip [the] well and to water: watering [obj] [the] flock and to return: return [obj] [the] stone upon lip [the] well to/for place her
4 And Jacob seide to the scheepherdis, Brithren, of whennus ben ye? Whiche answeriden, Of Aran.
and to say to/for them Jacob brother: male-sibling my from where? you(m. p.) and to say from Haran we
5 And he axide hem and seide, Wher ye knowen Laban, the sone of Nachor? Thei seiden, We knowen.
and to say to/for them to know [obj] Laban son: descendant/people Nahor and to say to know
6 Jacob seide, Is he hool? Thei seiden, He is in good staat; and lo! Rachel, his douytir, cometh with his flok.
and to say to/for them peace: well-being to/for him and to say peace: well-being and behold Rachel daughter his to come (in): come with [the] flock
7 And Jacob seide, Yit myche of the dai is to come, and it is not tyme that the flockis be led ayen to the fooldis; sotheli yyue ye drynk to the scheep, and so lede ye hem ayen to mete.
and to say look! still [the] day great: large not time to gather [the] livestock to water: watering [the] flock and to go: went to pasture
8 Whiche answeriden, We moun not til alle scheep be gederid to gidere, and til we remouen the stoon fro the mouth of the pit to watir the flockis.
and to say not be able till which to gather all [the] flock and to roll [obj] [the] stone from upon lip [the] well and to water: watering [the] flock
9 Yit thei spaken, and lo! Rachel cam with the scheep of hir fadir.
still he to speak: speak with them and Rachel to come (in): come with [the] flock which to/for father her for to pasture he/she/it
10 And whanne Jacob seiy hir, and knewe the douytir of his modris brothir, and the scheep of Laban his vncle, he remeuyde the stoon with which the pit was closid;

11 and whanne the flok was watrid, he kisside hir, and he wepte with `vois reisid.
and to kiss Jacob to/for Rachel and to lift: loud [obj] voice his and to weep
12 And he schewide to hir that he was the brothir of hir fadir, and the sone of Rebecca; and sche hastide, and telde to hir fadir.
and to tell Jacob to/for Rachel for brother: male-relative father her he/she/it and for son: child Rebekah he/she/it and to run: run and to tell to/for father her
13 And whanne he hadde herd, that Jacob, the sone of his sistir, cam, he ran ayens hym, and he biclippide Jacob and kisside hym, and ledde in to his hows. Forsothe whanne the causis of the iurney weren herd,
and to be like/as to hear: hear Laban [obj] report Jacob son: child sister his and to run: run to/for to encounter: meet him and to embrace to/for him and to kiss to/for him and to come (in): bring him to(wards) house: home his and to recount to/for Laban [obj] all [the] word: thing [the] these
14 Laban answeride, Thou art my boon and my fleisch. And aftir that the daies of o moneth weren fillid, Laban seide to him,
and to say to/for him Laban surely bone my and flesh my you(m. s.) and to dwell with him month day
15 `Whethir for thou art my brothir, thou schalt serue me frely? seie thou what mede thou schalt take.
and to say Laban to/for Jacob for brother: male-relative my you(m. s.) and to serve me for nothing to tell [emph?] to/for me what? wage your
16 Forsothe Laban hadde twei douytris, the name of the more was Lya, sotheli the lesse was clepid Rachel;
and to/for Laban two daughter name [the] great: old Leah and name [the] small Rachel
17 but Lya was blere iyed, Rachel was of fair face, and semeli in siyt.
and eye Leah tender and Rachel to be beautiful appearance and beautiful appearance
18 And Jacob louede Rachel, and seide, Y schal serue thee seuene yeer for Rachel thi lesse douytir.
and to love: lover Jacob [obj] Rachel and to say to serve you seven year in/on/with Rachel daughter your [the] small
19 Laban answeride, It is betere that Y yyue hir to thee than to anothir man; dwelle thou at me.
and to say Laban (pleasant *LB(ah)*) to give: give I [obj] her to/for you from to give: give I [obj] her to/for man another to dwell [emph?] with me me
20 Therfor Jacob seruyde seuene yeer for Rachel; and the daies semyden fewe to hym for the greetnesse of loue.
and to serve Jacob in/on/with Rachel seven year and to be in/on/with eye: appearance his like/as day one in/on/with love his [obj] her
21 And he seide to Laban, Yyue thou my wijf to me, for the tyme is fillid that Y entre to hir.

22 And whanne many cumpenyes of freendis weren clepid to the feeste, he made weddyngis,
and to gather Laban [obj] all human [the] place and to make feast
23 and in the euentid Laban brouyte in to hym Lya his douytir,
and to be in/on/with evening and to take: take [obj] Leah daughter his and to come (in): bring [obj] her to(wards) him and to come (in): come to(wards) her
24 and yaf an handmaide, Selfa bi name, to the douyter. And whanne Jacob hadde entrid to hir bi custom, whanne the morewtid was maad, he seiy Lya,
and to give: give Laban to/for her [obj] Zilpah maidservant his to/for Leah daughter his maidservant
25 and seide to his wyues fadir, What is it that thou woldist do? wher Y seruede not thee for Rachel? whi hast thou disseyued me?
and to be in/on/with morning and behold he/she/it Leah and to say to(wards) Laban what? this to make: do to/for me not in/on/with Rachel to serve with you and to/for what? to deceive me
26 Laban answerde, It is not custom in oure place that we yyue first the `lesse douytris to weddyngis;
and to say Laban not to make: do so in/on/with place our to/for to give: give(marriage) [the] little to/for face: before [the] firstborn
27 fille thou the wouke of daies of this couplyng, and Y schal yyue to thee also this Rachel, for the werk in which thou schalt serue me bi othere seuene yeer.
to fill week this and to give: give(marriage) to/for you also [obj] this in/on/with service which to serve with me me still seven year another
28 Jacob assentide to the couenaunt, and whanne the wouke was passid,
and to make: do Jacob so and to fill week this and to give: give(marriage) to/for him [obj] Rachel daughter his to/for him to/for woman: wife
29 he weddide Rachel, to whom the fadir hadde youe Bala seruauntesse.
and to give: give Laban to/for Rachel daughter his [obj] Bilhah maidservant his to/for her to/for maidservant
30 And at the laste he vside the weddyngis desirid, and settide the loue of the `wijf suynge bifore the former; and he seruede at Laban seuene othere yeer.
and to come (in): come also to(wards) Rachel and to love: lover also [obj] Rachel from Leah and to serve with him still seven year another
31 Forsothe the Lord seiy that he dispiside Lya, and openyde hir wombe while the sistir dwellide bareyn.
and to see: see LORD for to hate Leah and to open [obj] womb her and Rachel barren
32 And Lia childide a sone conseyued, and clepide his name Ruben, and seide, The Lord seiy my mekenesse; now myn hosebonde schal loue me.
and to conceive Leah and to beget son: child and to call: call by name his Reuben for to say for to see: see LORD in/on/with affliction my for now to love: lover me man: husband my
33 And eft sche conseyuede, `and childide a sone, and seide, For the Lord seiy that Y was dispisid, he yaf also this sone to me; and sche clepide his name Symeon.
and to conceive still and to beget son: child and to say for to hear: hear LORD for to hate I and to give: give to/for me also [obj] this and to call: call by name his Simeon
34 And sche conseyuede the thridde tyme, and childide anothir sone, and she seide also, Now myn hosebonde schal be couplid to me, for Y childide thre sones to him; and therfor sche clepide his name Leuy.
and to conceive still and to beget son: child and to say now [the] beat to join man: husband my to(wards) me for to beget to/for him three son: child upon so to call: call by name his Levi
35 The fourthe tyme sche conseyuede, and childide a sone, and seide, Now I schal knouleche to the Lord; and herfor she clepide his name Judas; and ceesside to childe.
and to conceive still and to beget son: child and to say [the] beat to give thanks [obj] LORD upon so to call: call by name his Judah and to stand: stand from to beget
