Genesis 28
1 And so Isaac clepide Jacob, and blesside hym, and comaundide to hym, and seide, Nyle thou take a wijf of the kyn of Canaan; but go thou,
Y-sác bèn gọi Gia-cốp, chúc phước cho và dặn rằng: Con chớ chọn một người vợ nào hết trong bọn con gái Ca-na-an.
2 and walke forth in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to the hows of Batuel, fadir of thi modir, and take to thee of thennus a wijf of the douytris of Laban, thin vncle.
Hãy đứng dậy, đi qua xứ Pha-đan-A-ram, tại nhà Bê-tu-ên, ông ngoại con, và cưới ở đó một người vợ trong các con gái của La-ban, là cậu con.
3 Sotheli Almyyti God blesse thee, and make thee to encreesse, and multiplie thee, that thou be in to cumpanyes of puplis;
Cầu xin Đức Chúa Trời toàn năng ban phước cho con, làm con sanh sản, thêm nhiều và trở nên một đám dân đông.
4 and God yyue to thee the blessyngis of Abraham, and to thi seed aftir thee, that thou welde the lond of thi pilgrymage, which he bihiyte to thi grauntsir.
Cầu xin Ngài ban cho con và dòng dõi con phước lành của Aùp-ra-ham, hầu cho xứ con đã kiều ngụ sẽ làm sản nghiệp cho con, tức xứ Ngài đã ban cho Aùp-ra-ham!
5 And whanne Ysaac hadde left hym, he yede forth, and cam in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to Laban, the sone of Batuel of Sirie, the brother of Rebecca, his modir.
Rồi Y-sác sai Gia-cốp đi qua xứ Pha-đan-A-ram, đến nhà La-ban, con trai Bê-tu-ên, vốn người A-ram, lại là anh của Rê-bê-ca, mẹ của Gia-cốp và Ê-sau.
6 Forsothe Esau seiy that his fadir hadde blessid Jacob, and hadde sent him in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, that he schulde wedde a wijf of thennus, and that aftir the blessyng he comaundide to Jacob, and seide, Thou schalt not take a wijf of the douytris of Canaan;
Ê-sau thấy Y-sác đã chúc phước cho Gia-cốp, và sai đi qua xứ Pha-đan-A-ram đặng cưới vợ; và trong lúc đang chúc phước có dặn rằng: Chớ cưới vợ trong bọn con gái Ca-na-an;
7 and that Jacob obeiede to his fadir `and modir, and yede in to Sirie;
lại đã thấy Gia-cốp vâng lời cha mẹ đi qua xứ Pha-đan-A-ram đó,
8 also Esau preuyde that his fadir bihelde not gladli the douytris of Canaan.
thì biết rằng bọn con gái Ca-na-an không vừa ý Y-sác, cha mình;
9 And he yede to Ismael, and weddide a wijf, with out these whiche he hadde bifore, Melech, the douyter of Ismael, sone of Abraham, the sistir of Nabaioth.
nên người bèn đi đến nhà ỗch-ma-ên (ngoài hai người vợ đã có rồi) cưới thêm nàng Ma-ha-lát, con gái của ỗch-ma-ên, cháu nội của Aùp-ra-ham và em của Nê-ba-giốt.
10 Therfor Jacob yede out of Bersabee, and yede to Aran.
Gia-cốp từ Bê-e-Sê-ba đi đến Cha-ran,
11 And whanne he hadde come to sum place, and wolde reste ther inne aftir the goynge doun of the sunne, he took of the stoonus that laien ther, and he puttide vndur his heed, and slepte in the same place.
tới một chỗ kia, mặt trời đã khuất, thì qua đêm tại đó. Người lấy một hòn đá làm gối đầu, và nằm ngủ tại đó;
12 And he seiye in sleep a laddir stondynge on the erthe, and the cop ther of touchinge heuene; and he seiy Goddis aungels stiynge vp and goynge doun ther bi,
bèn chiêm bao thấy một cái thang bắc từ dưới đất, đầu đến tận trời, các thiên sứ của Đức Chúa Trời đi lên xuống trên thang đó.
13 and the Lord fastned to the laddir, seiynge to hym, Y am the Lord God of Abraham, thi fadir, and God of Isaac; Y schal yyue to thee and to thi seed the lond in which thou slepist.
Nầy, Đức Giê-hô-va ngự trên đầu thang mà phán rằng: Ta là Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Aùp-ra-ham, tổ phụ ngươi, cùng là Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sác. Ta sẽ cho ngươi và dòng dõi ngươi đất mà ngươi đang nằm ngủ đây.
14 And thi seed schal be as the dust of erthe, thou schalt be alargid to the eest, and west, and north, and south; and alle lynagis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee and in thi seed.
Dòng dõi ngươi sẽ đông như cát bụi trên mặt đất, tràn ra đến đông tây nam bắc, và các chi họ thế gian sẽ nhờ ngươi và dòng dõi ngươi mà được phước.
15 And Y schal be thi kepere, whidur euer thou schalt go; and Y schal lede thee ayen in to this lond, and Y schal not leeue no but Y schal fil alle thingis whiche Y seide.
Nầy, ta ở cùng ngươi, ngươi đi đâu, sẽ theo gìn giữ đó, và đem ngươi về xứ nầy; vì ta không bao giờ bỏ ngươi cho đến khi ta làm xong những điều ta đã hứa cùng ngươi.
16 And whanne Jacob hadde wakyd of sleep, he seide, Verili the Lord is in this place, and Y wiste not.
Gia-cốp thức giấc, nói rằng: Thật Đức Giê-hô-va hiện có trong nơi đây mà tôi không biết!
17 And he seide dredynge, Hou worschipful is this place! Here is noon other thing no but the hows of God, and the yate of heuene.
Người bắt sợ và nói rằng: Chốn nầy đáng kinh khủng thay! Đây thật là đền Đức Chúa Trời, thật là cửa của trời!
18 Therfor Jacob roos eerli, and took the stoon which he hadde put vndur his heed, and reiside in to a title, and helde oile aboue.
Người dậy sớm, lấy hòn đá của mình dùng gối đầu, dựng đứng lên làm cây trụ, đổ dầu lên trên chót trụ đó;
19 And he clepide the name of that citee Bethel, which was clepid Lusa bifore.
rồi đặt tên chốn nầy là Bê-tên; còn nguyên khi trước tên thành là Lu-xơ.
20 Also he auowide a vow, and seide, If God is with me, and kepith me in the weie in which Y go, and yyueth to me looues to ete, and clothis to be clothid,
Gia-cốp bèn khấn vái rằng: Nếu Đức Chúa Trời ở cùng tôi, gìn giữ tôi trong lúc đi đường, cho bánh ăn, áo mặc,
21 and Y turne ayen in prosperite to the hows of my fadir, the Lord schal be in to God to me.
và nếu tôi trở về bình an đến nhà cha tôi, thì Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ là Đức Chúa Trời tôi.
22 And this stoon, which Y reiside in to a title, schal be clepid the hows of God, and Y schal offre tithis to thee of alle thingis whiche thou schalt yyue to me.
Hòn đá đã dựng làm trụ đây sẽ là đền Đức Chúa Trời, Và tôi sẽ nộp lại cho Ngài một phần mười mọi của cải mà Ngài sẽ cho tôi.
