Genesis 28
1 And so Isaac clepide Jacob, and blesside hym, and comaundide to hym, and seide, Nyle thou take a wijf of the kyn of Canaan; but go thou,
Niin Isaak kutsui poikansa Jakobin ja siunasi häntä, käski ja sanoi hänelle: älä ota emäntää Kanaanin tyttäristä.
2 and walke forth in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to the hows of Batuel, fadir of thi modir, and take to thee of thennus a wijf of the douytris of Laban, thin vncle.
Vaan valmista ja mene Mesopotamiaan, Betuelin sinun äitis isän huoneesen: ja ota sinulles sieltä emäntä, Labanin sinun enos tyttäristä.
3 Sotheli Almyyti God blesse thee, and make thee to encreesse, and multiplie thee, that thou be in to cumpanyes of puplis;
Ja Jumala kaikkivaltias siunatkoon sinua, ja tehköön sinun hedelmälliseksi ja enätköön sinun, ettäs tulisit (suureksi) kansain joukoksi.
4 and God yyue to thee the blessyngis of Abraham, and to thi seed aftir thee, that thou welde the lond of thi pilgrymage, which he bihiyte to thi grauntsir.
Antakoon myös sinulle Abrahamin siunauksen, sinulle ja sinun siemenelles sinun kanssas: periäkses sitä maata, jossas muukalainen olet, jonka Jumala Abrahamille antanut on.
5 And whanne Ysaac hadde left hym, he yede forth, and cam in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, to Laban, the sone of Batuel of Sirie, the brother of Rebecca, his modir.
Niin lähetti Isaak Jakobin tyköänsä menemään Mesopotamiaan, Labanin, Betuelin Syrialaisen pojan tykö, Rebekan, Jakobin ja Esaun äidin, veljen.
6 Forsothe Esau seiy that his fadir hadde blessid Jacob, and hadde sent him in to Mesopotanye of Sirie, that he schulde wedde a wijf of thennus, and that aftir the blessyng he comaundide to Jacob, and seide, Thou schalt not take a wijf of the douytris of Canaan;
Koska Esau näki, että Isaak oli siunannut Jakobin, ja lähettänyt hänen Mesopotamiaan ottamaan sieltä itsellensä emäntää: ja että hän, sittekuin hän hänen siunannut oli, käski häntä ja sanoi: ei sinun pidä ottaman emäntää Kanaanin tyttäristä.
7 and that Jacob obeiede to his fadir `and modir, and yede in to Sirie;
Ja että Jakob oli isällensä ja äidillensä kuuliainen; ja meni Mesopotamiaan.
8 also Esau preuyde that his fadir bihelde not gladli the douytris of Canaan.
Esau näki myös, ettei Isaak hänen isänsä voinut nähdä Kanaanin tyttäriä;
9 And he yede to Ismael, and weddide a wijf, with out these whiche he hadde bifore, Melech, the douyter of Ismael, sone of Abraham, the sistir of Nabaioth.
Meni Esau Ismaelin tykö: ja otti Mahalatin Ismaelin Abrahamin pojan tyttären, Nabojotin sisaren, emännäksensä, paitsi entisiä.
10 Therfor Jacob yede out of Bersabee, and yede to Aran.
Niin Jakob läksi BerSabasta: ja meni Haraniin.
11 And whanne he hadde come to sum place, and wolde reste ther inne aftir the goynge doun of the sunne, he took of the stoonus that laien ther, and he puttide vndur his heed, and slepte in the same place.
Ja joutui yhteen paikkaan, ja oli siinä yötä: sillä aurinko oli laskenut, ja otti kiven siitä paikasta, ja pani päänsä alaiseksi, ja makasi siinä paikassa.
12 And he seiye in sleep a laddir stondynge on the erthe, and the cop ther of touchinge heuene; and he seiy Goddis aungels stiynge vp and goynge doun ther bi,
Ja näki unta, ja katso, tikapuut seisoivat maan päällä, joiden pää ulottui taivaasen: ja katso, Jumalan enkelit kävivät ylös ja alas niitä myöten.
13 and the Lord fastned to the laddir, seiynge to hym, Y am the Lord God of Abraham, thi fadir, and God of Isaac; Y schal yyue to thee and to thi seed the lond in which thou slepist.
Ja katso, Herra seisoi niiden päällä, ja sanoi: Minä olen Herra, Abrahamin sinun isäs Jumala, ja Isaakin Jumala: tämän maan, jonka päällä sinä makaat, annan minä sinulle ja sinun siemenelles.
14 And thi seed schal be as the dust of erthe, thou schalt be alargid to the eest, and west, and north, and south; and alle lynagis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee and in thi seed.
Ja sinun siemenes pitää oleman niinkuin maan tomu, ja sinun pitää leviämän länteen ja itään, pohjaan ja etelään päin. Ja sinussa pitää kaikki sukukunnat maan päällä siunatuksi tuleman, ja sinun siemenessäs.
15 And Y schal be thi kepere, whidur euer thou schalt go; and Y schal lede thee ayen in to this lond, and Y schal not leeue no but Y schal fil alle thingis whiche Y seide.
Ja katso, minä olen sinun kanssas, ja varjelen sinua, kuhunkas ikänänsä joudut, ja saatan sinun jällensä tälle maalle: sillä en minä hylkää sinua siihenasti, että minä kaikki teen, mitä minä sinulle puhunut olen.
16 And whanne Jacob hadde wakyd of sleep, he seide, Verili the Lord is in this place, and Y wiste not.
Koska Jakob heräsi unestansa, niin hän sanoi: totisesti on Herra tässä paikassa: ja en minä sitä tietänyt.
17 And he seide dredynge, Hou worschipful is this place! Here is noon other thing no but the hows of God, and the yate of heuene.
Niin hän pelkäsi, ja sanoi: kuinka peljättävä on tämä paikka! ei tässä muu ole kuin Jumalan huone ja taivaan ovi.
18 Therfor Jacob roos eerli, and took the stoon which he hadde put vndur his heed, and reiside in to a title, and helde oile aboue.
Ja Jakob nousi varhain aamulla, ja otti kiven, jonka hän oli pannut päänsä alaiseksi, ja pani sen pystyälle muistopatsaaksi: ja vuodatti öljyä sen päälle.
19 And he clepide the name of that citee Bethel, which was clepid Lusa bifore.
Kutsui siis sen paikan BetEl; vaan muinaisiin aikoin se kutsuttiin Luts.
20 Also he auowide a vow, and seide, If God is with me, and kepith me in the weie in which Y go, and yyueth to me looues to ete, and clothis to be clothid,
Niin Jakob teki lupauksen, sanoen: jos Jumala on minun kanssani, ja varjelee minua tällä tiellä, jota minä vaellan, antaa myös minulle leipää syödäkseni, ja vaatetta verhokseni:
21 and Y turne ayen in prosperite to the hows of my fadir, the Lord schal be in to God to me.
Ja tulen takaperin rauhassa kotia isäni tykö: ja Herra on minun Jumalani.
22 And this stoon, which Y reiside in to a title, schal be clepid the hows of God, and Y schal offre tithis to thee of alle thingis whiche thou schalt yyue to me.
Niin tämä kivi, jonka minä panin pystyälle muistopaatsaaksi, pitää oleman Jumalan huone: ja kaikista, jotkas minulle annat, annan minä tosin sinulle kymmenykset.
