Genesis 22
1 And aftir that these thingis weren don, God assaiede Abraham, and seide to hym, Abraham! Abraham! He answerde, Y am present.
Después de esto probó Dios a Abrahán, y le dijo “¡Abrahán!” “Heme aquí”, contestó este.
2 God seide to him, Take thi `sone oon gendrid, whom thou louest, Ysaac; and go into the lond of visioun, and offre thou hym there in to brent sacrifice, on oon of the hillis whiche Y schal schewe to thee.
Le dijo entonces: “Toma a tu hijo único, a quien amas, a Isaac, y ve a la tierra de Moriah, y ofrécele allí en holocausto sobre uno de los montes que Yo te mostraré.”
3 Therfor Abraham roos bi niyt, and sadlide his asse, and ledde with hym twey yonge men, and Ysaac his sone; and whanne he hadde hewe trees in to brent sacrifice, he yede to the place which God hadde comaundid to him.
Se levantó, pues, Abrahán muy de mañana, aparejó su asno y tomó consigo dos de sus criados y a Isaac, su hijo; después de partir leña para el holocausto se puso en camino para ir al lugar que Dios le había indicado.
4 Forsothe in the thridde dai he reiside hise iyen, and seiy a place afer;
Cuando al tercer día Abrahán alzó los ojos y vio el lugar desde lejos,
5 and he seide to hise children, Abide ye here with the asse, Y and the child schulen go thidur; and aftir that we han worschipid, we schulen turne ayen to you.
dijo a sus mozos: “Quedaos aquí con el asno; yo y el niño iremos hasta allá para adorar, y después volveremos con vosotros.”
6 And he took the trees of brent sacrifice, and puttide on Ysaac his sone; forsothe he bar fier, and a swerd in hise hondis. And whanne thei tweyne yeden togidere, Isaac seide to his fadir, My fadir!
Tomó, pues, Abrahán la leña para el holocausto, la cargó sobre Isaac, su hijo, y tomó en su mano el fuego y el cuchillo; y caminaron los dos juntos.
7 And he answerde, What wolt thou, sone? He seide, Lo! fier and trees, where is the beeste of brent sacrifice?
Y se dirigió Isaac a Abrahán, su padre diciendo: “Padre mío”; el cual respondió: “Heme aquí, hijo mío”. Y dijo (Isaac): “He aquí el fuego y la leña, mas ¿dónde está el cordero para el holocausto?”
8 Abraham seide, My sone, God schal puruey to hym the beeste of brent sacrifice.
Contestó Abrahán: “Dios se proveerá de cordero para el holocausto, hijo mío.” Y siguieron caminando los dos juntos.
9 Therfor thei yeden to gidere, and camen to the place whiche God hadde schewid to hym, in which place Abraham bildide an auter, and dresside trees a boue; and whanne he hadde bounde to gidere Ysaac, his sone, he puttide Ysaac in the auter, on the heep of trees.
Llegado al lugar que Dios le había indicado, erigió Abrahán allí el altar, y dispuso la leña, después ató a Isaac su hijo, y le puso sobre el altar, encima de la leña.
10 And he helde forth his hond, and took the swerd to sacrifice his sone.
Y alargando su mano tomó Abrahán el cuchillo para degollar a su hijo,
11 And lo! an aungel of the Lord criede fro heuene, and seide, Abraham! Abraham!
cuando he aquí que el Ángel de Yahvé le llamó desde el cielo, diciendo: “¡Abrahán, Abrahán!” Él respondió: “Heme aquí.”
12 Which answerde, I am present. And the aungel seide to hym, Holde thou not forth thin honde on the child, nether do thou ony thing to him; now Y haue knowe that thou dredist God, and sparidist not thin oon gendrid sone for me.
Dijo entonces (el Ángel): “No extiendas tu mano contra el niño, ni le hagas nada; pues ahora conozco que eres temeroso de Dios, ya que no has rehusado darme tu hijo, tu único.”
13 Abraham reiside hise iyen, and he seiy `bihynde his bak a ram cleuynge bi hornes among breris, which he took, and offride brent sacrifice for the sone.
Y alzó Abrahán los ojos y miró, y vio detrás de él un carnero, enredado por los cuernos en un zarzal. Fue Abrahán y tomó el carnero, y lo ofreció en holocausto en lugar de su hijo.
14 And he clepide the name of that place, The Lord seeth; wherfore it is seyd, til to dai, The Lord schal see in the hil.
Y dio Abrahán a aquel lugar el nombre de “Yahvé ve” por donde se dice hoy día: “En el monte de Yahvé se verá”.
15 Forsothe the aungel of the Lord clepide Abraham the secounde tyme fro heuene,
El Ángel de Yahvé llamó a Abrahán por segunda vez desde el cielo,
16 and seide, The Lord seith, Y haue swore bi my silf, for thou hast do this thing, and hast not sparid thin oon gendrid for me,
y dijo: “Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Yahvé: Por cuanto has hecho esto, y no has rehusado darme a tu hijo, tu único,
17 Y schal blesse thee, and Y schal multiplie thi seed as the sterris of heuene, and as grauel which is in the brynk of the see; thi seed schal gete the yatis of hise enemyes;
te colmaré de bendiciones y multiplicaré grandemente tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo, y como las arenas de la orilla del mar, y tus descendientes poseerán la puerta de sus enemigos;
18 and alle the folkis of erthe schulen be blessid in thi seed, for thou obeiedist to my vois.
y en tu descendencia serán benditas todas las naciones de la tierra, porque has obedecido mi voz.”
19 Abraham turnede ayen to hise children, and thei yeden to Bersabee to gidere, and he dwellide there.
Luego volvió Abrahán a sus criados y levantándose se dirigieron juntos a Bersabee, y habitó Abrahán en Bersabee.
20 And so whanne these thingis weren don, it was teld to Abraham that also Melcha hadde bore sones to Nachor his brother;
Pasadas estas cosas fue dada a Abrahán esta noticia: “También Milcá ha dado a luz hijos a Nacor, tu hermano (cuyos nombres son):
21 Hus the firste gendrid, and Buz his brothir, and Chamuhel the fadir of Sireis,
Us, el cual es su primogénito; Buz, su hermano; Camuel, padre de Aram,
22 and Cased, and Asan, and Feldas,
Cased, Azau, Feldas, Jedlaf y Batuel.
23 and Jedlaf, and Batuhel, of whom Rebecca was borun; Melcha childide these eiyte to Nachor brother of Abraham.
Batuel engendró a Rebeca. Estos ochos dio Milcá a luz a Nacor, hermano de Abrahán.
24 Forsothe his concubyn, Roma bi name, childide Thabee, and Gaon, and Thaas, and Maacha.
Su concubina, llamada Reumá, le dio también hijos: Tábeh, Gáham, Tahas y Maaca.
