Genesis 22
1 And aftir that these thingis weren don, God assaiede Abraham, and seide to hym, Abraham! Abraham! He answerde, Y am present.
কিছুকাল পর ঈশ্বর অব্রাহামকে পরীক্ষা করলেন। তিনি তাঁকে বললেন, “অব্রাহাম!” “আমি এখানে,” অব্রাহাম উত্তর দিলেন।
2 God seide to him, Take thi `sone oon gendrid, whom thou louest, Ysaac; and go into the lond of visioun, and offre thou hym there in to brent sacrifice, on oon of the hillis whiche Y schal schewe to thee.
তখন ঈশ্বর বললেন, “তোমার ছেলেকে, তোমার একমাত্র ছেলেকে, যাকে তুমি ভালোবাসো তাকে—সেই ইস্হাককে—নাও ও মোরিয়া প্রদেশে যাও। সেখানে এমন একটি পর্বতের উপর তাকে হোমবলিরূপে উৎসর্গ করো, যেটি আমি তোমাকে দেখিয়ে দেব।”
3 Therfor Abraham roos bi niyt, and sadlide his asse, and ledde with hym twey yonge men, and Ysaac his sone; and whanne he hadde hewe trees in to brent sacrifice, he yede to the place which God hadde comaundid to him.
পরদিন ভোরবেলায় অব্রাহাম উঠে তাঁর গাধায় জিন চাপালেন। তিনি তাঁর দাসদের মধ্যে দুজনকে ও তাঁর ছেলে ইস্হাককে সাথে নিলেন। হোমবলির জন্য যথেষ্ট পরিমাণ কাঠ কাটার পর তিনি সেই স্থানের উদ্দেশে যাত্রা শুরু করলেন, যেটির বিষয়ে ঈশ্বর তাঁকে আগেই বলে দিয়েছিলেন।
4 Forsothe in the thridde dai he reiside hise iyen, and seiy a place afer;
তৃতীয় দিনে অব্রাহাম চোখ তুলে তাকিয়ে দূর থেকে সেই স্থানটি দেখলেন।
5 and he seide to hise children, Abide ye here with the asse, Y and the child schulen go thidur; and aftir that we han worschipid, we schulen turne ayen to you.
তিনি তাঁর দাসদের বললেন, “ছেলেটিকে সাথে নিয়ে আমি যখন সেখানে যাচ্ছি, তখন তোমরা গাধাটির সঙ্গে এখানেই থাকো। আমরা আরাধনা করব ও পরে তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসব।”
6 And he took the trees of brent sacrifice, and puttide on Ysaac his sone; forsothe he bar fier, and a swerd in hise hondis. And whanne thei tweyne yeden togidere, Isaac seide to his fadir, My fadir!
অব্রাহাম হোমবলির কাঠ নিয়ে সেগুলি তাঁর ছেলে ইস্হাকের কাঁধে চাপিয়ে দিলেন, এবং তিনি স্বয়ং আগুন ও ছুরি নিলেন। তাঁরা দুজন যখন একসাথে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন,
7 And he answerde, What wolt thou, sone? He seide, Lo! fier and trees, where is the beeste of brent sacrifice?
ইস্হাক মুখ খুলে তাঁর বাবা অব্রাহামকে বললেন, “বাবা?” “বলো বাছা?” অব্রাহাম উত্তর দিলেন। “আগুন ও কাঠ তো এখানে আছে,” ইস্হাক বললেন, “কিন্তু হোমবলির জন্য মেষশাবক কোথায়?”
8 Abraham seide, My sone, God schal puruey to hym the beeste of brent sacrifice.
অব্রাহাম উত্তর দিলেন, “বাছা, ঈশ্বর স্বয়ং হোমবলির জন্য মেষশাবকের জোগান দেবেন।” আর তাঁরা দুজন একসাথে এগিয়ে গেলেন।
9 Therfor thei yeden to gidere, and camen to the place whiche God hadde schewid to hym, in which place Abraham bildide an auter, and dresside trees a boue; and whanne he hadde bounde to gidere Ysaac, his sone, he puttide Ysaac in the auter, on the heep of trees.
ঈশ্বর যে স্থানটির কথা বলেছিলেন, তারা যখন সেখানে পৌঁছালেন, তখন অব্রাহাম সেখানে একটি যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করলেন ও সেটির উপর কাঠ বিছিয়ে দিলেন। তিনি তাঁর ছেলে ইস্হাককে বেঁধে সেই বেদিতে, কাঠের উপর শুইয়ে দিলেন।
10 And he helde forth his hond, and took the swerd to sacrifice his sone.
পরে তিনি হাত বাড়িয়ে ছুরিটি ধরে তাঁর ছেলেকে হত্যা করতে উদ্যত হলেন।
11 And lo! an aungel of the Lord criede fro heuene, and seide, Abraham! Abraham!
কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুর দূত স্বর্গ থেকে তাঁকে ডেকে বললেন, “অব্রাহাম, অব্রাহাম!” “আমি এখানে,” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন।
12 Which answerde, I am present. And the aungel seide to hym, Holde thou not forth thin honde on the child, nether do thou ony thing to him; now Y haue knowe that thou dredist God, and sparidist not thin oon gendrid sone for me.
“ছেলেটির গায়ে হাত দিয়ো না,” দূত বললেন। “ওর কোনও ক্ষতি কোরো না। এখন আমি বুঝেছি যে তুমি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করো, কারণ আমাকে তুমি তোমার ছেলেটি, তোমার একমাত্র ছেলেটি দিতে অসম্মত হওনি।”
13 Abraham reiside hise iyen, and he seiy `bihynde his bak a ram cleuynge bi hornes among breris, which he took, and offride brent sacrifice for the sone.
অব্রাহাম চোখ তুলে তাকিয়ে দেখতে পেলেন সেখানে ঝোপঝাড়ের মধ্যে একটি মদ্দা মেষ শিং আটকানো অবস্থায় পড়ে আছে। তিনি সেখানে গিয়ে মদ্দা মেষটিকে এনে তাঁর ছেলের পরিবর্তে সেটিকে এক হোমবলিরূপে উৎসর্গ করলেন।
14 And he clepide the name of that place, The Lord seeth; wherfore it is seyd, til to dai, The Lord schal see in the hil.
অতএব অব্রাহাম সেই স্থানটির নাম দিলেন সদাপ্রভু জোগাবেন। আর আজও পর্যন্ত একথা বলা হয়ে থাকে, “সদাপ্রভুর পর্বতে তা জোগানো হবে।”
15 Forsothe the aungel of the Lord clepide Abraham the secounde tyme fro heuene,
সদাপ্রভুর দূত দ্বিতীয়বার স্বর্গ থেকে অব্রাহামকে ডাক দিলেন
16 and seide, The Lord seith, Y haue swore bi my silf, for thou hast do this thing, and hast not sparid thin oon gendrid for me,
এবং বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করছেন, আমি নিজের নামে শপথ করছি, যেহেতু তুমি এই কাজটি করেছ এবং আমাকে তোমার ছেলেটি, তোমার একমাত্র ছেলেটি দিতে অসম্মত হওনি,
17 Y schal blesse thee, and Y schal multiplie thi seed as the sterris of heuene, and as grauel which is in the brynk of the see; thi seed schal gete the yatis of hise enemyes;
তাই অবশ্যই আমি তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করব ও তোমার বংশধরদের আকাশের তারাগুলির মতো ও সমুদ্রের বালুকণার মতো বিপুল সংখ্যক করে তুলব। তোমার বংশধররা তাদের শত্রুদের নগরগুলি দখল করে নেবে,
18 and alle the folkis of erthe schulen be blessid in thi seed, for thou obeiedist to my vois.
এবং তোমার সন্তানসন্ততির মাধ্যমে পৃথিবীর সব জাতি আশীর্বাদ লাভ করবে, কারণ তুমি আমার বাধ্য হয়েছ।”
19 Abraham turnede ayen to hise children, and thei yeden to Bersabee to gidere, and he dwellide there.
পরে অব্রাহাম তাঁর দাসদের কাছে ফিরে এলেন, এবং তাঁরা সবাই মিলে বের-শেবার উদ্দেশে যাত্রা শুরু করলেন। আর অব্রাহাম বের-শেবাতেই থেকে গেলেন।
20 And so whanne these thingis weren don, it was teld to Abraham that also Melcha hadde bore sones to Nachor his brother;
কিছুকাল পর অব্রাহামকে বলা হল, “মিল্কাও মা হয়েছেন; তিনি আপনার ভাই নাহোরের জন্য এই ছেলেদের জন্ম দিয়েছেন:
21 Hus the firste gendrid, and Buz his brothir, and Chamuhel the fadir of Sireis,
প্রথমজাত ঊষ, তার ভাই বূষ, কমূয়েল (অরামের বাবা),
22 and Cased, and Asan, and Feldas,
কেষদ, হসো, পিলদশ, যিদলফ ও বথূয়েল।”
23 and Jedlaf, and Batuhel, of whom Rebecca was borun; Melcha childide these eiyte to Nachor brother of Abraham.
বথূয়েল রিবিকার বাবা। মিল্কা অব্রাহামের ভাই নাহোরের জন্য এই আটটি ছেলের জন্ম দিলেন।
24 Forsothe his concubyn, Roma bi name, childide Thabee, and Gaon, and Thaas, and Maacha.
যার নাম রূমা, নাহোরের সেই উপপত্নীও এই ছেলেদের জন্ম দিল: টেবহ, গহম, তহশ ও মাখা।
