Genesis 21
1 Forsothe God visitide Sare, as he bihiyte, and fillide tho thingis, that he spak.
Yahvé visitó a Sara como había dicho, y Yahvé hizo con Sara lo que había dicho.
2 And sche conseyuede, and childide a sone in hir eeld, in the tyme wherynne God biforseide to hir.
Sara concibió y dio a luz un hijo a Abraham en su vejez, en el tiempo establecido del que Dios le había hablado.
3 And Abraham clepide the name of his sone, whom Sare childide to him, Ysaac.
Abraham llamó a su hijo que le había nacido, y que Sara le dio a luz, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcidide hym in the eiyte dai, as God comaundide to him,
Abraham circuncidó a su hijo Isaac a los ocho días de nacido, como Dios le había ordenado.
5 whanne he was of an hundrid yeer; for Ysaac was borun in this age of the fadir.
Abraham tenía cien años cuando le nació su hijo Isaac.
6 And Sare seide, The Lord made leiyynge to me, and who euer schal here schal leiye with me.
Sara dijo: “Dios me ha hecho reír. Todo el que oiga se reirá conmigo”.
7 And eft sche seide, Who schulde here, and bileue to Abraham, that Sare schulde yyue soukyng to a sone, whom sche childide to him now an eld man?
Ella dijo: “¿Quién le habría dicho a Abraham que Sara amamantaría a sus hijos? Pues le he dado a luz un hijo en su vejez”.
8 Therfor the child encreesside, and was wenyd; and Abraham made a greet feeste in the dai of his wenyng.
El niño creció y fue destetado. Abraham hizo una gran fiesta el día en que Isaac fue destetado.
9 And whanne Sare seiy the sone of Agar Egipcian pleiynge with Ysaac hir sone, sche seide to Abraham,
Sara vio que el hijo de Agar la egipcia, que había dado a luz a Abraham, se burlaba.
10 Cast thou out the handmayde and hir sone; for the sone of the handmayde schal not be eir with my sone Ysaac.
Entonces dijo a Abraham: “¡Echa a esta sierva y a su hijo! Porque el hijo de esta sierva no será heredero de mi hijo Isaac”.
11 Abraham took this heuyli for his sone;
La cosa fue muy penosa a los ojos de Abraham a causa de su hijo.
12 and God seide to hym, Be it not seyn scharp to thee on the child, and on thin handmayde; alle thingis whiche Sare seith to thee, here thou hir vois, for in Isaac seed schal be clepid to thee;
Dios le dijo a Abraham: “No te aflijas por el niño y por tu sierva. En todo lo que te diga Sara, escucha su voz. Porque tu descendencia llevará el nombre de Isaac.
13 but also I schal make the sone of the handmaid in to a greet folk, for he is thi seed.
También haré una nación del hijo de la sierva, porque es tu hijo.”
14 And so Abraham roos eerli, and took breed, and a botel of watir, and puttide on hir schuldre, and bitook the child, and lefte hir; and whanne sche hadde go, sche yede out of the weie in the wildirnesse of Bersabee.
Abraham se levantó de madrugada, tomó pan y un recipiente de agua y se lo dio a Agar, poniéndoselo al hombro; le dio el niño y la despidió. Ella partió y anduvo errante por el desierto de Beerseba.
15 And whanne the watir in the botel was endid, sche castide awei the child vndur a tre that was there;
El agua de la vasija se agotó, y ella puso al niño debajo de uno de los arbustos.
16 and sche yede awei, and sche sat euene ayens as fer as a bowe may caste; for sche seide, Y schal not se the child diynge; and sche sat ayens, and reiside hir vois, and wepte.
Fue y se sentó frente a él, a una buena distancia, como a un tiro de arco. Porque dijo: “No me dejes ver la muerte del niño”. Se sentó frente a él, alzó la voz y lloró.
17 Forsothe the Lord herde the vois of the child, and the aungel of the Lord clepide Agar fro heuene, and seide, What doist thou, Agar? nyle thou drede, for God hath herd the vois of the child fro the place where ynne he is.
Dios escuchó la voz del niño. El ángel de Dios llamó a Agar desde el cielo y le dijo: “¿Qué te preocupa, Agar? No tengas miedo. Porque Dios ha escuchado la voz del niño donde está.
18 Rise thou, and take the child, and holde his hoond; for Y schal make hym in to a greet folc.
Levántate, levanta al niño y sostenlo con tu mano. Porque yo haré de él una gran nación”.
19 And God openyde hir iyen, and sche seiy a pit of watir, and sche yede, and fillide the botel, and sche yaf drynk to the child;
Dios le abrió los ojos y vio un pozo de agua. Fue, llenó el recipiente de agua y le dio de beber al niño.
20 and was with him, and he encresside, and dwellide in wildernesse, and he was maad a yong man an archer,
Dios estuvo con el niño, y éste creció. Vivió en el desierto, y al crecer se convirtió en arquero.
21 and dwellide in the deseert of Faran; and his modir took to him a wijf of the lond of Egipt.
Vivió en el desierto de Parán. Su madre le consiguió una esposa de la tierra de Egipto.
22 In the same tyme Abymelech, and Ficol, prince of his oost, seide to Abraham, God is with thee in alle thingis whiche thou doist;
En aquel tiempo, Abimelec y Ficol, el capitán de su ejército, hablaron con Abraham, diciendo: “Dios está contigo en todo lo que haces.
23 therfore swere thou bi God that thou noye not me, and myn eiris, and my kynrede; but bi the mersi whych Y dide to thee, do thou to me, and to the lond in which thou lyuedist a comelyng.
Ahora, pues, júrame aquí por Dios que no harás un trato falso conmigo, ni con mi hijo, ni con el hijo de mi hijo. Sino que según la bondad que yo he hecho contigo, tú harás conmigo y con la tierra en la que has vivido como extranjero.”
24 And Abraham seide, Y schal swere.
Abraham dijo: “Lo juraré”.
25 And he blamyde Abymelech for the pit of watir, which hise seruauntis token awey bi violence.
Abraham se quejó a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelec habían quitado con violencia.
26 And Abymelech answerde, I wiste not who dide this thing, but also thou schewidist not to me, and Y herde not outakun to dai.
Abimelec dijo: “No sé quién ha hecho esto. No me lo has dicho, y no me he enterado hasta hoy”.
27 And so Abraham took scheep and oxun, and yaf to Abymalech, and bothe smyten a boond of pees.
Abraham tomó ovejas y ganado y se los dio a Abimelec. Aquellos dos hicieron un pacto.
28 And Abraham settide seuene ewe lambren of the flok asidis half.
Abraham puso siete corderos del rebaño por separado.
29 And Abymelech seide to hym, What wolen these seuene ewe lambren to hem silf, whiche thou madist stonde asidis half?
Abimelec le dijo a Abraham: “¿Qué significan estas siete ovejas que has puesto solas?”
30 And he seide, Thou schalt take of myn hond seuene ewe lambren, that tho be in to witnessyng to me, for Y diggide this pit.
Dijo: “Tomarás estas siete ovejas de mi mano, para que me sirvan de testimonio de que he cavado este pozo”.
31 Therfor thilke place was clepid Bersabee, for euere eithir swore there;
Por eso llamó a ese lugar Beersheba, porque ambos hicieron allí un juramento.
32 and thei maden boond of pees for the pit of an ooth.
Así que hicieron un pacto en Beerseba. Abimelec se levantó con Ficol, el capitán de su ejército, y volvieron a la tierra de los filisteos.
33 Forsothe Abymelech roos, and Ficol, prince of his chyualrie, and thei turneden ayen in to the lond of Palestyns. Sotheli Abraham plauntide a wode in Bersabee, and inwardli clepide there the name of euerlastinge God;
Abraham plantó un tamarisco en Beerseba, y allí invocó el nombre de Yahvé, el Dios eterno.
34 and he was an erthetiliere ether a comelynge of the lond of Palestynes in many dayes.
Abraham vivió muchos días como extranjero en la tierra de los filisteos.
