< Genesis 18 >
1 Forsothe in the valei of Mambre the Lord apperide to Abraham, sittynge in the dore of his tabernacle, in thilke heete of the dai.
Pea naʻe hā mai ʻa Sihova kiate ia ʻi he fonua ʻo Mamili, ʻi heʻene nofo ʻi he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻi he pupuha ʻoe ʻaho.
2 And whanne he hadde reisid his iyen, thre men apperiden to hym, and stoden nyy hym. And whanne he hadde seyn hem, he ran fro the dore of his tabernacle in to the meting of hem, and he worschipide on erthe,
Pea hanga hake ʻe ia hono mata ʻo sio, pea vakai, ʻoku tutuʻu mai ʻae tangata ʻe toko tolu kiate ia: pea ʻi heʻene mamata ki ai, naʻa ne lele mei he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ke fakafetaulaki kiate kinautolu, pea naʻe punou hifo ia ki he kelekele,
3 and seide, Lord, if Y haue founde grace in thin iyen, passe thou not thi seruaunt,
ʻO ne pehē, “Ko hoku ʻEiki, ko eni, kapau kuo u maʻu ʻae lelei ʻi ho ʻao, ʻofa ke ʻoua naʻa ke ʻalu mei hoʻo tamaioʻeiki.
4 but I schal brynge a litil watir, and youre feet be waischid, and reste ye vndur the tre;
Tuku ke ʻomi ha vai siʻi, pea fufulu homou vaʻe, pea mou mālōlō ʻi he lolo ʻakau.
5 and Y schal sette a mussel of breed, and youre herte be coumfortid; aftirward ye schulen passe; for herfor ye bowiden to youre seruaunt. Whiche seiden, Do thou as thou hast spoke.
6 Abraham hastide in to the tabernacle, to Sare, and seide to hir, Hast thou, meddle thou thre half buschelis of clene flour; and make thou looues bakun vndur aischis.
Pea ʻalu fakatoʻotoʻo ʻa ʻEpalahame ki he fale, kia Sela ʻo ne pehē, “Teuteu fakavave ʻae fua ʻe tolu ʻoe mahoaʻa lelei ʻo natu ia, ʻo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae ngaahi foʻi mā, pea taʻo ia ʻi he ngotoʻumu.
7 Forsothe he ran to the droue of beestis, and took therof a calf moost tendre and best, and yaf to a child, which hastide, and sethede the calfe;
8 and he took botere, and mylk, and the calf which he hadde sode, and settide bifore hem; forsothe Abraham stood bisidis hem vndur the tre.
Pea ne toʻo mai ʻae pota, mo e huʻahuhu, pea mo e ʻuhiki pulu naʻa ne ngaohi, ʻo ne tuku ia ʻi honau ʻao; pea tuʻu ia ʻo ofi kiate kinautolu ʻi he lolo ʻakau, pea naʻa nau kai.”
9 And whanne thei hadden ete, thei seiden to hym, Where is Sare thi wijf? He answerde, Lo! sche is in the tabernacle.
Pea nau pehē kiate ia, “Ko e fē ʻa Sela, ko ho uaifi?” Pea pehēange ʻe ia, “Vakai, ʻoku ʻi he fale fehikitaki ia.”
10 To whom the Lord seide, Y schal turne ayen, and Y schal come to thee in this tyme, if Y lyue; and Sare, thi wijf, schal haue a sone. Whanne this was herd, Sare leiyede bihynde the dore of the tabernacle.
Pea ne pehē, “Ko e moʻoni te u toe haʻu kiate koe, ʻi he kuonga totonu; pea vakai, ʻe maʻu ʻe ho uaifi ko Sela, ha tama.” Pea naʻe ongoʻi ʻe Sela ʻi he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki, ʻaia naʻe ʻi hono tuʻa.
11 Forsothe bothe weren olde, and of greet age, and wommans termes ceessiden to be maad to Sare.
Pea naʻe motuʻa ʻa ʻEpalahame mo Sela, pea naʻe lahi hona taʻu: naʻe ʻikai kei ia Sela ʻae anga ʻoe fefine.
12 And she leiyede, seiynge pryueli, after that Y wexede eld, and my lord is eld, schal Y yyue diligence to lust?
Ko ia naʻe katakata loto ai ʻa Sela, ʻo pehē, “He ko e moʻoni, te u nekeneka au, ka kuo u motuʻa, pea kuo motuʻa mo ʻeku ʻeiki foki?”
13 Forsothe the Lord seide to Abraham, Whi leiyeth Sare, thi wijf, seiynge, whether Y an eld womman schal bere child verili?
Pea folofola ʻa Sihova kia ʻEpalahame, ʻo pehē, “Ko e hā naʻe kata ai ʻa Sela, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko e moʻoni koā te u fanauʻi ha tama ʻeau ka kuo u motuʻa?’
14 whether ony thing is hard to God? Bi the biheeste Y schal turne ayen to thee in this same tyme, if Y lyue; and Sara schal haue a sone.
He ʻoku ai ha meʻa ʻe taha ʻoku faingataʻa kia Sihova? ʻI he kuonga kuo kotofa te u toe haʻu kiate koe, pea ʻe maʻu ʻe ho uaifi ko Sela ʻae tama.”
15 Sare was aferd for drede, and denyede, seiynge, Y leiyede not. Forsothe the Lord seide, It is not so, but thou leiyedist.
Pea fakafisi ʻa Sela ʻo pehē, “Naʻe ʻikai te u kata;” he naʻa ne manavahē. Pea ne pehē, “ʻIkai, ka naʻa ke kata pe.”
16 Therfor whanne the men hadden risen fro thennus, thei dressiden the iyen ayens Sodom; and Abraham yede to gidre, ledynge hem forth.
Pea tuʻu hake ʻae kau tangata mei ai, pea hanga atu ki Sotoma, pea ʻalu ʻa ʻEpalahame mo kinautolu, ke moimoiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he hala.
17 And the Lord seide, Wher Y mowe hele fro Abraham what thingis Y schal do,
Pea pehē ʻe Sihova, “He te u fufū mei ʻa ʻEpalahame ʻae meʻa te u fai?
18 sithen he schal be in to a greet folk and moost strong, and alle naciouns of erthe schulen be blessid in hym?
He ko e moʻoni ʻe hoko ʻa ʻEpalahame ko e puleʻanga lahi mo mālohi ʻaupito, pea ʻe monūʻia ʻiate ia ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani.
19 For Y woot that Abraham schal comaunde hise children, and his hows after hym, that thei kepe the weie of the Lord, and that thei do riytfulnesse and dom, that the Lord bringe for Abraham alle thingis whiche he spak to Abraham.
He ʻoku ou ʻiloʻi ia, te ne fekau ʻene fānau mo hono kau nofoʻanga kotoa pē tuku fakaholo, pea te nau ʻalu ʻi he hala ʻo Sihova, ke fai ʻae angatonu, mo e fakamaau: koeʻuhi ke fakahoko ʻe Sihova kia ʻEpalahame, ʻaia kotoa pē kuo ne lea ʻaki kiate ia.”
20 And so the Lord seide, The cry of men of Sodom and of men of Gomorre is multiplied, and her synne is agreggid greetli; Y schal come doun,
Pea pehē ʻe Sihova, “Koeʻuhi kuo lahi ʻae tangi ʻa Sotoma mo Komola, pea kuo hoko ʻo kovi ʻaupito ʻenau angahala;
21 and schal se whether thei han fillid in werk the cry that cam to me, that Y wite whether it is not so.
Ko ia te u ʻalu hifo ni, ʻo mamata, pe kuo nau fai kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko e tangi ʻo ia, ʻaia kuo aʻu mai kiate au: pea kapau ʻe ʻikai, pea te u ʻilo.”
22 And thei turneden han fro thennus, and yeden to Sodom. Abraham sotheli stood yit bifore the Lord,
Pea naʻe hanga atu mei ai ʻae mata ʻoe ongo tangata ke na ʻalu atu ki Sotoma: ka naʻe kei tuʻu pe ʻa ʻEpalahame ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
23 and neiyede, and seide, Whether thou schalt leese a iust man with the wickid man?
Pea ʻunuʻunu atu ke ofi ʻa ʻEpalahame, ʻo ne pehē, “Pea te ke fakaʻauha fakataha ʻae angatonu mo e angahala?
24 if fifti iust men ben in the citee, schulen thei perische togidere, and schalt thou not spare that place for fifti iust men, if thei ben ther ynne?
Naʻa ʻoku ʻi he kolo ʻae angatonu ʻe toko nimangofulu: pea te ke fakaʻauha foki, ka ʻe ʻikai fakamoʻui ʻae potu, koeʻuhi ko e angatonu ʻe toko nimangofulu ʻoku ʻi ai?
25 Fer be it fro thee that thou do this thing, and sle a iust man with a wickid man, and that a iust man be maad as a wickid man; this is not thin that demest al erthe; thou schalt not make this doom.
Ke mamaʻo ʻiate koe ha fai pehē, ke tāmateʻi ʻae angatonu fakataha mo e angahala, pea ke fakatatau ʻae angatonu ki he angahala, ke mamaʻo ia ʻiate koe: ʻikai ʻe fai totonu ʻae Fakamaau ʻo māmani kotoa pē?”
26 And the Lord seide to him, If Y schal fynde in Sodom fifti iust men in the myddis of the citee, Y schal foryyue to al the place for hem.
Pea pehē ʻe Sihova, “Kapau te u ʻilo ʻi Sotoma ʻae angatonu ʻe toko nimangofulu, te u fakamoʻui ʻae potu kotoa pē koeʻuhi ko kinautolu.”
27 Abraham answerde and seide, For Y bigan onys, Y schal speke to my Lord, sithen Y am dust and aische;
Pea lea ʻa ʻEpalahame ʻo ne pehē, “Vakai, ko eni kuo u lea au kia Sihova, ka ko e efu, mo e efuefu pe au:
28 what if lesse than fifti iust men bi fyue ben, schalt thou do a wey al the cite for fyue and fourti? And the Lord seide, Y schal not do a wei, if I schal fynde fyue and fourti there.
Pea kapau ʻe ʻikai ʻi ai ʻae toko nima ʻi he toko nimangofulu ʻoku angatonu: pea te ke fakaʻauha ʻae kolo kotoa pē, koeʻuhi ko e toko nima? Pea pehē ʻe ia, kapau te u ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko fāngofulu ma toko nima, ʻe ʻikai te u fakaʻauha ia.”
29 And eft Abraham seide to hym, But if fourti ben there, what schalt thou do? The Lord seide, Y schal not smyte for fourti.
Pea ne toe lea kiate ia, ʻo pehē, “Pea kapau ʻe ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko fāngofulu.” Pea pehē ʻe ia, “E ʻikai te u fai ia, koeʻuhi koe toko fāngofulu ko ia.”
30 Abraham seide, Lord, Y biseche, take thou not to indignacioun, if Y speke; what if thretti be foundun there? The Lord answerde, Y schal not do, if Y schal fynde thretti there.
Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate ia, “ʻOfa ke ʻoua naʻa houhau ʻa Sihova, pea te u lea: Kapau ʻe ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko tolungofulu.” Pea pehēange ʻe ia, “E ʻikai te u fai ia, ʻo kapau te u ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko tolungofulu.”
31 Abraham seide, For Y bigan onys, Y schal speke to my Lord; what if twenti be foundun there? The Lord seide, Y schal not sle for twenti.
Pea pehē ʻe ia, “Vakai, kuo u lea ni kia Sihova: Kapau ʻe ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko uofulu.” Pea pehē ʻe ia, “E ʻikai te u fakaʻauha ia koeʻuhi ko e toko uofulu ko ia.”
32 Abraham seide, Lord, Y biseche, be thou not wrooth, if Y speke yit onys; what if ten be founden there? The Lord seide, Y schal not do a wey for ten.
Pea pehē ʻe ia, “ʻOfa ke ʻoua naʻa houhau ʻa Sihova, pea te u lea ni ʻo tā tuʻo taha pe; Kapau ʻe ʻilo ʻi ai ʻae toko hongofulu.” Pea pehē ʻe ia, “E ʻikai te u fakaʻauha ia, koeʻuhi ko e toko hongofulu ko ia.”
33 The Lord yede forth, after that he ceesside to speke to Abraham, and Abraham turnede ayen in to his place.
Pea hāʻele atu ai ʻa Sihova ʻi hono hala, hili ʻena alea mo ʻEpalahame; pea liu mai ʻa ʻEpalahame ki hono potu.
