< Genesis 18 >
1 Forsothe in the valei of Mambre the Lord apperide to Abraham, sittynge in the dore of his tabernacle, in thilke heete of the dai.
and to see: see to(wards) him LORD in/on/with terebinth Mamre and he/she/it to dwell entrance [the] tent like/as heat [the] day
2 And whanne he hadde reisid his iyen, thre men apperiden to hym, and stoden nyy hym. And whanne he hadde seyn hem, he ran fro the dore of his tabernacle in to the meting of hem, and he worschipide on erthe,
and to lift: look eye his and to see: see and behold three human to stand upon him and to see: see and to run: run to/for to encounter: meet them from entrance [the] tent and to bow land: soil [to]
3 and seide, Lord, if Y haue founde grace in thin iyen, passe thou not thi seruaunt,
and to say lord my if please to find favor in/on/with eye: seeing your not please to pass from upon servant/slave your
4 but I schal brynge a litil watir, and youre feet be waischid, and reste ye vndur the tre;
to take: bring please little water and to wash: wash foot your and to lean underneath: under [the] tree
5 and Y schal sette a mussel of breed, and youre herte be coumfortid; aftirward ye schulen passe; for herfor ye bowiden to youre seruaunt. Whiche seiden, Do thou as thou hast spoke.
and to take: bring morsel food: bread and to support heart your (after *L(S)*) to pass for as that: since as as to pass upon servant/slave your and to say so to make: do like/as as which to speak: speak
6 Abraham hastide in to the tabernacle, to Sare, and seide to hir, Hast thou, meddle thou thre half buschelis of clene flour; and make thou looues bakun vndur aischis.
and to hasten Abraham [the] tent [to] to(wards) Sarah and to say to hasten three seah flour fine flour to knead and to make bun
7 Forsothe he ran to the droue of beestis, and took therof a calf moost tendre and best, and yaf to a child, which hastide, and sethede the calfe;
and to(wards) [the] cattle to run: run Abraham and to take: take son: young animal cattle tender and pleasant and to give: give to(wards) [the] youth and to hasten to/for to make [obj] him
8 and he took botere, and mylk, and the calf which he hadde sode, and settide bifore hem; forsothe Abraham stood bisidis hem vndur the tre.
and to take: take curd and milk and son: young animal [the] cattle which to make and to give: put to/for face: before their and he/she/it to stand: stand upon them underneath: under [the] tree and to eat
9 And whanne thei hadden ete, thei seiden to hym, Where is Sare thi wijf? He answerde, Lo! sche is in the tabernacle.
and to say to(wards) him where? Sarah woman: wife your and to say behold in/on/with tent
10 To whom the Lord seide, Y schal turne ayen, and Y schal come to thee in this tyme, if Y lyue; and Sare, thi wijf, schal haue a sone. Whanne this was herd, Sare leiyede bihynde the dore of the tabernacle.
and to say to return: return to return: return to(wards) you like/as time alive and behold son: child to/for Sarah woman: wife your and Sarah to hear: hear entrance [the] tent and he/she/it after him
11 Forsothe bothe weren olde, and of greet age, and wommans termes ceessiden to be maad to Sare.
and Abraham and Sarah old to come (in): advanced in/on/with day: year to cease to/for to be to/for Sarah way like/as woman
12 And she leiyede, seiynge pryueli, after that Y wexede eld, and my lord is eld, schal Y yyue diligence to lust?
and to laugh Sarah in/on/with entrails: among her to/for to say after to become old I to be to/for me delight and lord my be old
13 Forsothe the Lord seide to Abraham, Whi leiyeth Sare, thi wijf, seiynge, whether Y an eld womman schal bere child verili?
and to say LORD to(wards) Abraham to/for what? this to laugh Sarah to/for to say also truly to beget and I be old
14 whether ony thing is hard to God? Bi the biheeste Y schal turne ayen to thee in this same tyme, if Y lyue; and Sara schal haue a sone.
to wonder from LORD word: thing to/for meeting: time appointed to return: return to(wards) you like/as time alive and to/for Sarah son: child
15 Sare was aferd for drede, and denyede, seiynge, Y leiyede not. Forsothe the Lord seide, It is not so, but thou leiyedist.
and to deceive Sarah to/for to say not to laugh for to fear and to say not for to laugh
16 Therfor whanne the men hadden risen fro thennus, thei dressiden the iyen ayens Sodom; and Abraham yede to gidre, ledynge hem forth.
and to arise: rise from there [the] human and to look upon face: surface Sodom and Abraham to go: went with them to/for to send: depart them
17 And the Lord seide, Wher Y mowe hele fro Abraham what thingis Y schal do,
and LORD to say to cover I from Abraham which I to make: do
18 sithen he schal be in to a greet folk and moost strong, and alle naciouns of erthe schulen be blessid in hym?
and Abraham to be to be to/for nation great: large and mighty and to bless in/on/with him all nation [the] land: country/planet
19 For Y woot that Abraham schal comaunde hise children, and his hows after hym, that thei kepe the weie of the Lord, and that thei do riytfulnesse and dom, that the Lord bringe for Abraham alle thingis whiche he spak to Abraham.
for to know him because which to command [obj] son: child his and [obj] house: household his after him and to keep: obey way: conduct LORD to/for to make: do righteousness and justice because to come (in): bring LORD upon Abraham [obj] which to speak: promise upon him
20 And so the Lord seide, The cry of men of Sodom and of men of Gomorre is multiplied, and her synne is agreggid greetli; Y schal come doun,
and to say LORD outcry Sodom and Gomorrah for to multiply and sin their for to honor: heavy much
21 and schal se whether thei han fillid in werk the cry that cam to me, that Y wite whether it is not so.
to go down please and to see: see like/as cry her [the] to come (in): come to(wards) me to make: do consumption and if not to know
22 And thei turneden han fro thennus, and yeden to Sodom. Abraham sotheli stood yit bifore the Lord,
and to turn from there [the] human and to go: went Sodom [to] (and Abraham *L(S)*) still he to stand: stand to/for face: before (LORD *L(S)*)
23 and neiyede, and seide, Whether thou schalt leese a iust man with the wickid man?
and to approach: approach Abraham and to say also to snatch righteous with wicked
24 if fifti iust men ben in the citee, schulen thei perische togidere, and schalt thou not spare that place for fifti iust men, if thei ben ther ynne?
perhaps there fifty righteous in/on/with midst [the] city also to snatch and not to lift: bear to/for place because fifty [the] righteous which in/on/with entrails: among her
25 Fer be it fro thee that thou do this thing, and sle a iust man with a wickid man, and that a iust man be maad as a wickid man; this is not thin that demest al erthe; thou schalt not make this doom.
forbid to/for you from to make: do like/as Chronicles [the] this to/for to die righteous with wicked and to be like/as righteous like/as wicked forbid to/for you to judge all [the] land: country/planet not to make: do justice
26 And the Lord seide to him, If Y schal fynde in Sodom fifti iust men in the myddis of the citee, Y schal foryyue to al the place for hem.
and to say LORD if to find in/on/with Sodom fifty righteous in/on/with midst [the] city and to lift: bear to/for all [the] place in/on/with for the sake of them
27 Abraham answerde and seide, For Y bigan onys, Y schal speke to my Lord, sithen Y am dust and aische;
and to answer Abraham and to say behold please be willing to/for to speak: speak to(wards) Lord and I dust and ashes
28 what if lesse than fifti iust men bi fyue ben, schalt thou do a wey al the cite for fyue and fourti? And the Lord seide, Y schal not do a wei, if I schal fynde fyue and fourti there.
perhaps to lack [emph?] fifty [the] righteous five to ruin in/on/with five [obj] all [the] city and to say not to ruin if to find there forty and five
29 And eft Abraham seide to hym, But if fourti ben there, what schalt thou do? The Lord seide, Y schal not smyte for fourti.
and to add: again still to/for to speak: speak to(wards) him and to say perhaps to find [emph?] there forty and to say not to make: do in/on/with for the sake of [the] forty
30 Abraham seide, Lord, Y biseche, take thou not to indignacioun, if Y speke; what if thretti be foundun there? The Lord answerde, Y schal not do, if Y schal fynde thretti there.
and to say not please to be incensed to/for Lord and to speak: speak perhaps to find [emph?] there thirty and to say not to make: do if to find there thirty
31 Abraham seide, For Y bigan onys, Y schal speke to my Lord; what if twenti be foundun there? The Lord seide, Y schal not sle for twenti.
and to say behold please be willing to/for to speak: speak to(wards) Lord perhaps to find [emph?] there twenty and to say not to ruin in/on/with for the sake of [the] twenty
32 Abraham seide, Lord, Y biseche, be thou not wrooth, if Y speke yit onys; what if ten be founden there? The Lord seide, Y schal not do a wey for ten.
and to say not please to be incensed to/for Lord and to speak: speak surely [the] beat perhaps to find [emph?] there ten and to say not to ruin in/on/with for the sake of [the] ten
33 The Lord yede forth, after that he ceesside to speke to Abraham, and Abraham turnede ayen in to his place.
and to go: journey LORD like/as as which to end: finish to/for to speak: speak to(wards) Abraham and Abraham to return: return to/for place his
