Genesis 13
1 Therfore Abram stiede fro Egipt, he, and his wijf, and alle thingis that he hadde; and Loth stiede with hym, to the south coost.
Así que Abram se fue de Egipto y regresó al Neguev con Sarai, Lot, y todos los que iban con él, así como sus posesiones.
2 Forsothe he was ful riche in possessyoun of siluer and of gold.
Abram era muy rico, y tenía muchas manadas de ganado y mucha plata y oro.
3 And he turnede ayen bi the weye in which he cam fro the south in to Bethel, `til to the place, in which bifore he hadde sett tabernacle, bitwixe Bethel and Hay,
Se fue el Neguevy comenzó su viaje por partes hasta Betel, de regreso al lugar donde había acampado antes, entre Betel y Ay.
4 in the place of the auter which he made bifore, and inwardli clepide there the name of the Lord.
Fue aquí donde había construido un altar por primera vez. Entonces adoró al Señor allí, como lo había hecho antes.
5 But also flockis of scheep, and droues of oxun, and tabernaclis weren to Loth, that was with Abram;
Lot, quien viajaba con Abram, también tenía muchos rebaños, manadas y tiendas,
6 and the lond miyte not take hem, that thei schulden dwelle togidre, for the catel of hem was myche, and thei miyten not dwelle in comyn.
tantas que la tierra disponible no alcanzaba para que ambos vivieran allí, pues tenían tanto ganado, que ya no podrían habitar juntos en el mismo lugar.
7 Wherfor also strijf was maad bitwixe the keperis of flockis of Abram and of Loth. Forsothe Chananei and Feresei dwelliden in that lond in that tyme.
Los granjeros de Abram discutían con los de Lot; además los cananeos y los fereceos también habitaban la tierra en ese momento.
8 Therfor Abram seide to Loth, Y biseche, that no strijf be bitwixe me and thee, and bitwixe my scheepherdis and thi scheepherdis; for we ben britheren.
Así que Abram le dijo a Lot: “Por favor, evitemos las discordias entre nosotros y entre nuestros granjeros, pues somos familia.
9 Lo! al the lond is bifore thee, Y biseche, departe thou fro me; if thou go to the left side, Y schal holde the riyt side; if thou chese the riyt side, Y schal go to the left side.
¿Ves toda esta tierra disponible delante de ti? Debemos dividirnos. Así que si decides ir por la izquierda, yo iré por la derecha; y si decides ir por la derecha, yo iré por la izquierda”.
10 And so Loth reiside hise iyen, and seiy aboute al the cuntrei of Jordan, which was al moistid, bifor that the Lord distriede Sodom and Gomorre, as paradis of the Lord, and as Egipt, as men comen in to Segor.
Lot miró todo el valle del Jordán, en dirección a Zoar, y vio que estaba bien abastecido de agua, y que lucía como el jardín de Edén, como la tierra de Egipto. (Esto era antes de que el Señor destruyera a Sodoma y Gomorra).
11 And Loth chees to him the cuntre aboute Jordan, and departide fro the eest; and thei weren departid ech fro his brother.
Así que Lot eligió todo el valle del Jordán y se fue hacia el oriente, y así los dos se separaron.
12 Abram dwellide in the lond of Chanaan; sotheli Loth dwellide in townes aboute Jordan, and wonide in Sodom.
Abram se fue a vivir a la tierra de Canán mientras que Lot se asentó entre las ciudades del valle, estableciendo su campamento en Sodoma.
13 Forsothe men of Sodom weren ful wickid, and synneris greetly bifore the Lord.
(El pueblo de Sodoma era muy perverso, y cometían pecados terribles que ofendían al Señor).
14 And the Lord seide to Abram, aftir that Loth was departid fro him, Reise thin iyen forth riyt, and se fro the place in which thou art now, to the north and south, to the eest and west;
Después de separarse de Lot, el Señor le dijo a Abram: “Desde donde estás, mira a tu alrededor, hacia el norte, el sur, el oriente y el occidente.
15 Y schal yyue al the lond which thou seest to thee and to thi seed, til in to with outen ende.
Toda esta tierra que ves, te la daré a ti y a tus descendientes para siempre.
16 And Y schal make thi seed as the dust of erthe; if ony man may noumbre the dust of erthe, also he schal mowe noumbre thi seed.
Y tendrás tantos descendientes que serán como el polvo de la tierra. ¡Quien quiera contar tus descendientes será quien pueda contar el polvo de la tierra!
17 Therfor rise thou, and passe thorou the lond in his lengthe and breede, for Y schal yyue it to thee.
Ve y camina por toda la tierra, en todas las direcciones, porque yo te la he dado”.
18 Therfor Abram, mouynge his tabernacle, cam and dwellide bisidis the valei of Mambre, which is in Ebron; and he bildide there an auter to the Lord.
Así que Abram se fue a vivir a Hebrón, y estableció su campamento entre los robles de Mamré, donde construyó un altar al Señor.
