Genesis 13
1 Therfore Abram stiede fro Egipt, he, and his wijf, and alle thingis that he hadde; and Loth stiede with hym, to the south coost.
Niin Abram lähti pois Egyptistä, hän ja hänen vaimonsa ja kaikki, mitä hänellä oli, ja Loot hänen kanssaan, Etelämaahan.
2 Forsothe he was ful riche in possessyoun of siluer and of gold.
Abram oli hyvin rikas: hänellä oli karjaa, hopeata ja kultaa.
3 And he turnede ayen bi the weye in which he cam fro the south in to Bethel, `til to the place, in which bifore he hadde sett tabernacle, bitwixe Bethel and Hay,
Ja hän vaelsi, kulkien levähdyspaikasta toiseen, Etelämaasta Beeteliin asti, aina siihen paikkaan, missä hänen majansa oli ensi kerralla ollut, Beetelin ja Ain välillä,
4 in the place of the auter which he made bifore, and inwardli clepide there the name of the Lord.
siihen paikkaan, johon hän ennen oli rakentanut alttarin; ja Abram huusi siinä avuksi Herran nimeä.
5 But also flockis of scheep, and droues of oxun, and tabernaclis weren to Loth, that was with Abram;
Ja myöskin Lootilla, joka vaelsi Abramin kanssa, oli pikkukarjaa, raavaskarjaa ja telttoja.
6 and the lond miyte not take hem, that thei schulden dwelle togidre, for the catel of hem was myche, and thei miyten not dwelle in comyn.
Eikä maa riittänyt heidän asuakseen yhdessä, sillä heillä oli paljon omaisuutta, niin etteivät voineet yhdessä asua.
7 Wherfor also strijf was maad bitwixe the keperis of flockis of Abram and of Loth. Forsothe Chananei and Feresei dwelliden in that lond in that tyme.
Niin syntyi riitaa Abramin karjapaimenten ja Lootin karjapaimenten välillä. Ja siihen aikaan asuivat siinä maassa kanaanilaiset ja perissiläiset.
8 Therfor Abram seide to Loth, Y biseche, that no strijf be bitwixe me and thee, and bitwixe my scheepherdis and thi scheepherdis; for we ben britheren.
Silloin Abram sanoi Lootille: "Älköön olko riitaa meidän välillämme, minun ja sinun, älköönkä minun paimenteni ja sinun paimentesi välillä, sillä olemmehan veljeksiä.
9 Lo! al the lond is bifore thee, Y biseche, departe thou fro me; if thou go to the left side, Y schal holde the riyt side; if thou chese the riyt side, Y schal go to the left side.
Eikö koko maa ole avoinna edessäsi? Eroa minusta. Jos sinä menet vasemmalle, niin minä menen oikealle, tahi jos sinä menet oikealle, niin minä menen vasemmalle."
10 And so Loth reiside hise iyen, and seiy aboute al the cuntrei of Jordan, which was al moistid, bifor that the Lord distriede Sodom and Gomorre, as paradis of the Lord, and as Egipt, as men comen in to Segor.
Ja Loot nosti silmänsä ja näki koko Jordanin lakeuden olevan runsasvetistä seutua; ennenkuin Herra hävitti Sodoman ja Gomorran, oli se Sooariin saakka niinkuin Herran puutarha, niinkuin Egyptin maa.
11 And Loth chees to him the cuntre aboute Jordan, and departide fro the eest; and thei weren departid ech fro his brother.
Niin Loot valitsi itselleen koko Jordanin lakeuden ja siirtyi itään päin, ja he erkanivat toisistaan.
12 Abram dwellide in the lond of Chanaan; sotheli Loth dwellide in townes aboute Jordan, and wonide in Sodom.
Abram asettui Kanaanin maahan, Loot asettui lakeuden kaupunkeihin ja siirtyi siirtymistään telttoineen Sodomaan asti.
13 Forsothe men of Sodom weren ful wickid, and synneris greetly bifore the Lord.
Mutta Sodoman kansa oli kovin pahaa ja syntistä Herran edessä.
14 And the Lord seide to Abram, aftir that Loth was departid fro him, Reise thin iyen forth riyt, and se fro the place in which thou art now, to the north and south, to the eest and west;
Ja Herra sanoi Abramille, sen jälkeen kuin Loot oli hänestä eronnut: "Nosta silmäsi ja katso siitä paikasta, missä olet, pohjoiseen, etelään, itään ja länteen.
15 Y schal yyue al the lond which thou seest to thee and to thi seed, til in to with outen ende.
Sillä kaiken maan, jonka näet, minä annan sinulle ja sinun jälkeläisillesi ikuisiksi ajoiksi.
16 And Y schal make thi seed as the dust of erthe; if ony man may noumbre the dust of erthe, also he schal mowe noumbre thi seed.
Ja minä teen sinun jälkeläistesi luvun paljoksi kuin maan tomun. Jos voidaan lukea maan tomu, niin voidaan lukea myöskin sinun jälkeläisesi.
17 Therfor rise thou, and passe thorou the lond in his lengthe and breede, for Y schal yyue it to thee.
Nouse ja vaella maata pitkin ja poikin, sillä sinulle minä sen annan."
18 Therfor Abram, mouynge his tabernacle, cam and dwellide bisidis the valei of Mambre, which is in Ebron; and he bildide there an auter to the Lord.
Ja Abram siirtyi siirtymistään telttoineen ja tuli ja asettui Mamren tammistoon, joka on Hebronin luona, ja rakensi sinne alttarin Herralle.
