Genesis 12
1 Forsothe the Lord seide to Abram, Go thou out of thi lond, and of thi kynrede, and of the hous of thi fadir, and come thou in to the lond which Y schal schewe to thee;
Und der HERR sprach zu Abram: Geh aus von deinem Land und von deiner Verwandtschaft und von deines Vaters Hause in das Land, das ich dir zeigen will!
2 and Y schal make thee in to a greet folk, and Y schal blisse thee, and Y schal magnyfie thi name, and thou schalt be blessid;
So will ich dich zu einem großen Volke machen und dich segnen und dir einen großen Namen machen, und du sollst ein Segen sein.
3 Y schal blesse hem that blessen thee, and Y schal curse hem that cursen thee; and alle kynredis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee.
Ich will segnen, die dich segnen, und verfluchen, die dir fluchen; und durch dich sollen alle Geschlechter auf Erden gesegnet werden!
4 And so Abram yede out, as the Lord comaundide hym, and Loth yede with hym. Abram was of `thre scoor yeer and fiftene whanne he yede out of Aran.
Da ging Abram, wie der HERR zu ihm gesagt hatte, und Lot ging mit ihm; Abram aber war fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt, da er von Haran auszog.
5 And he took Saray, his wijf, and Loth, the sone of his brother, and al the substaunce which thei hadden in possessioun, and the men whiche thei hadden bigete in Aran; and thei yeden out that thei `schulen go in to the loond of Chanaan. And whanne they camen in to it,
Und Abram nahm sein Weib Sarai und Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, samt aller ihrer Habe, die sie erworben, und den Seelen, die sie in Haran gewonnen hatten; und sie zogen aus, um ins Land Kanaan zu gehen.
6 Abram passide thorou the lond til to the place of Sichem, and til to the noble valey. Forsothe Chananei was thanne in the lond.
Und als sie ins Land Kanaan kamen, durchzog Abram das Land bis zur Ortschaft Sichem, bis zur Eiche Mores; und damals waren die Kanaaniter im Lande.
7 Sotheli the Lord apperide to Abram, and seide to hym, Y schal yyue this lond to thi seed. And Abram bildide there an auter to the Lord, that apperide to hym.
Da erschien der HERR dem Abram und sprach: Deinem Samen will ich dies Land geben! Und er baute daselbst einen Altar dem HERRN, der ihm erschienen war.
8 And fro thennus he passide forth to the hil Bethel, that was ayens the eest, and settide there his tabernacle, hauynge Bethel fro the west, and Hay fro the eest. And he bildide also there an auter to the Lord, and inwardli clepide his name.
Von da rückte er weiter vor aufs Gebirge, östlich von Bethel, und schlug sein Zelt also auf, daß er Bethel im Westen und Ai im Osten hatte; und er baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar und rief den Namen des HERRN an.
9 And Abram yede goynge and goynge forth ouer to the south.
Darnach brach Abram auf und zog immer weiter nach Süden.
10 Sotheli hungur was maad in the lond; and Abram yede doun in to Egipt, to be a pilgrime ther, for hungur hadde maistrie in the lond.
Da aber Hungersnot im Lande herrschte, reiste Abram nach Ägypten hinab, um sich daselbst aufzuhalten; denn die Hungersnot lastete auf dem Land.
11 And whanne he was nyy to entre in to Egipt, he seide to Saray, his wijf, Y knowe that thou art a fair womman,
Und als er sich Ägypten näherte, sprach er zu seinem Weib Sarai: Siehe doch, ich weiß, daß du ein Weib bist von schöner Gestalt.
12 and that whanne Egipcians schulen se thee, thei schulen seie, it is his wijf, and thei schulen sle me, and `schulen reserue thee.
Wenn dich nun die Ägypter sehen, so werden sie sagen: Das ist sein Weib! Und sie werden mich töten und dich leben lassen.
13 Therfor, Y biseche thee, seie thou, that thou art my sistir, that it be wel to me for thee, and that my lijf lyue for loue of thee.
So sage doch, du seiest meine Schwester, daß es mir um deinetwillen wohl gehe, und meine Seele um deinetwillen am Leben bleibe!
14 And so whanne Abram hadde entrid in to Egipt, Egipcians sien the womman that sche was ful fair; and the prynces telden to Farao, and preiseden hir anentis him;
Als nun Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter das Weib, daß sie sehr schön war.
15 and the womman was takun vp in to the hous of Farao.
Und als die Fürsten des Pharao sie sahen, priesen sie dieselbe dem Pharao an. Da ward das Weib in Pharaos Haus gebracht.
16 Forsothe thei vsiden wel Abram for hir; and scheep, and oxun, and assis, and seruauntis, and seruauntessis, and sche assis, and camels weren to hym.
Und es ging Abram gut um ihretwillen; und er bekam Schafe, Rinder und Esel, Knechte und Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.
17 Forsothe the Lord beet Farao and his hous with moste veniaunces, for Saray, the wijf of Abram.
Aber der HERR schlug den Pharao und sein Haus mit großen Plagen um Sarais, des Weibes Abrams, willen.
18 And Farao clepide Abram, and seide to hym, What is it that thou hast do to me? whi schewidist thou not to me, that sche was thi wijf?
Da rief der Pharao den Abram und sprach: Was hast du mir da angerichtet! Warum hast du mir nicht angezeigt, daß sie dein Weib ist?
19 for what cause seidist thou, that sche was thi sister, that Y schulde take hir in to wife to me? Now therfor lo! thi wiif; take thou hir, and go.
Warum hast du gesagt, sie sei deine Schwester, so daß ich sie mir zum Weibe nehmen wollte? Und nun siehe, da ist dein Weib; nimm sie und geh!
20 And Farao comaundide to men on Abram, and thei ledden forth hym, and his wijf, and alle thingis that he hadde.
Und der Pharao bot seinethalben Mannschaft auf, damit sie ihm und seinem Weib und allem, was er hatte, das Geleite gäben.
