Genesis 11
1 Forsothe the lond was of o langage, and of the same speche.
१सारी पृथ्वी पर एक ही भाषा, और एक ही बोली थी।
2 And whanne thei yeden forth fro the eest, thei fonden a feeld in the lond of Sennaar, and dwelliden ther ynne.
२उस समय लोग पूर्व की ओर चलते-चलते शिनार देश में एक मैदान पाकर उसमें बस गए।
3 And oon seide to his neiybore, Come ye, and make we tiel stonys, and bake we tho with fier; and thei hadden tiel for stonus, and pitche for morter;
३तब वे आपस में कहने लगे, “आओ, हम ईंटें बना-बनाकर भली भाँति आग में पकाएँ।” और उन्होंने पत्थर के स्थान पर ईंट से, और मिट्टी के गारे के स्थान में चूने से काम लिया।
4 and seiden, Come ye, and make we to vs a citee and tour, whos hiynesse stretche `til to heuene; and make we solempne oure name bifor that we be departid in to alle londis.
४फिर उन्होंने कहा, “आओ, हम एक नगर और एक मीनार बना लें, जिसकी चोटी आकाश से बातें करे, इस प्रकार से हम अपना नाम करें, ऐसा न हो कि हमको सारी पृथ्वी पर फैलना पड़े।”
5 Forsothe the Lord cam down to se the citee and tour, which the sones of Adam bildiden.
५जब लोग नगर और गुम्मट बनाने लगे; तब उन्हें देखने के लिये यहोवा उतर आया।
6 And he seide, Lo! the puple is oon, and o langage is to alle, and thei han bigunne to make this, nethir thei schulen ceesse of her thouytis, til thei fillen tho in werk; therfor come ye, go we doun,
६और यहोवा ने कहा, “मैं क्या देखता हूँ, कि सब एक ही दल के हैं और भाषा भी उन सब की एक ही है, और उन्होंने ऐसा ही काम भी आरम्भ किया; और अब जो कुछ वे करने का यत्न करेंगे, उसमें से कुछ भी उनके लिये अनहोना न होगा।
7 and scheende we there the tunge of hem, that ech man here not the voys of his neiybore.
७इसलिए आओ, हम उतरकर उनकी भाषा में बड़ी गड़बड़ी डालें, कि वे एक दूसरे की बोली को न समझ सकें।”
8 And so the Lord departide hem fro that place in to alle londis; and thei cessiden to bielde a cytee.
८इस प्रकार यहोवा ने उनको वहाँ से सारी पृथ्वी के ऊपर फैला दिया; और उन्होंने उस नगर का बनाना छोड़ दिया।
9 And therfor the name therof was clepid Babel, for the langage of al erthe was confoundide there; and fro thennus the Lord scaterede hem on the face of alle cuntrees.
९इस कारण उस नगर का नाम बाबेल पड़ा; क्योंकि सारी पृथ्वी की भाषा में जो गड़बड़ी है, वह यहोवा ने वहीं डाली, और वहीं से यहोवा ने मनुष्यों को सारी पृथ्वी के ऊपर फैला दिया।
10 These ben the generaciouns of Sem. Sem was of an hundrid yeer whanne he gendride Arfaxath, twey yeer aftir the greet flood.
१०शेम की वंशावली यह है। जल-प्रलय के दो वर्ष पश्चात् जब शेम एक सौ वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने अर्पक्षद को जन्म दिया।
11 And Sem lyuede aftir that he gendride Arfaxath fyue hundrid yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
११और अर्पक्षद के जन्म के पश्चात् शेम पाँच सौ वर्ष जीवित रहा; और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
12 Forsothe Arfaxath lyuede fyue and thretti yeer, and gendride Sale;
१२जब अर्पक्षद पैंतीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसने शेलह को जन्म दिया।
13 and Arfaxath lyuede aftir that he gendride Sale thre hundride and thre yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
१३और शेलह के जन्म के पश्चात् अर्पक्षद चार सौ तीन वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
14 Also Sale lyuede thretti yeer, and gendride Heber;
१४जब शेलह तीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा एबेर का जन्म हुआ।
15 and Sale lyuede after that he gendride Heber foure hundrid and thre yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
१५और एबेर के जन्म के पश्चात् शेलह चार सौ तीन वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
16 Sotheli Heber lyuede foure and thretti yeer, and gendride Falech;
१६जब एबेर चौंतीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा पेलेग का जन्म हुआ।
17 and Heber lyuede aftir that he gendride Falech foure hundrid and thretti yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
१७और पेलेग के जन्म के पश्चात् एबेर चार सौ तीस वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
18 Also Falech lyuede thretti yeer, and gendride Reu;
१८जब पेलेग तीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा रू का जन्म हुआ।
19 and Falech lyuede aftir that he gendride Reu two hundrid and nyne yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
१९और रू के जन्म के पश्चात् पेलेग दो सौ नौ वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
20 And Reu lyuede two and thretti yeer, and gendride Saruch;
२०जब रू बत्तीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा सरूग का जन्म हुआ।
21 and Reu lyuede aftir that he gendride Saruch two hundrid and seuene yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
२१और सरूग के जन्म के पश्चात् रू दो सौ सात वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
22 Sotheli Saruch lyuede thretti yeer, and gendride Nachor;
२२जब सरूग तीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा नाहोर का जन्म हुआ।
23 and Saruch lyuede aftir that he gendride Nacor two hundrid yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
२३और नाहोर के जन्म के पश्चात् सरूग दो सौ वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
24 Forsothe Nachor lyuede nyne and twenti yeer, and gendride Thare;
२४जब नाहोर उनतीस वर्ष का हुआ, तब उसके द्वारा तेरह का जन्म हुआ;
25 and Nachor lyuede after that he gendride Thare an hundrid and nynetene yeer, and gendride sones and douytris.
२५और तेरह के जन्म के पश्चात् नाहोर एक सौ उन्नीस वर्ष और जीवित रहा, और उसके और भी बेटे-बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं।
26 And Thare lyuede seuenti yeer, and gendride Abram, and Nachor, and Aran.
२६जब तक तेरह सत्तर वर्ष का हुआ, तब तक उसके द्वारा अब्राम, और नाहोर, और हारान उत्पन्न हुए।
27 Sotheli these ben the generaciouns of Thare. Thare gendride Abram, Nachor, and Aran. Forsothe Aran gendride Loth;
२७तेरह की वंशावली यह है: तेरह ने अब्राम, और नाहोर, और हारान को जन्म दिया; और हारान ने लूत को जन्म दिया।
28 and Aran diede bifore Thare, his fadir, in the lond of his natiuite, in Vr of Caldeis.
२८और हारान अपने पिता के सामने ही, कसदियों के ऊर नाम नगर में, जो उसकी जन्म-भूमि थी, मर गया।
29 Forsothe Abram and Nachor weddiden wyues; the name of the wijf of Abram was Saray, and the name of the wiif of Nachor was Melcha, the douyter of Aran, fadir of Melcha and fadir of Jescha.
२९अब्राम और नाहोर दोनों ने विवाह किया। अब्राम की पत्नी का नाम सारै, और नाहोर की पत्नी का नाम मिल्का था। यह उस हारान की बेटी थी, जो मिल्का और यिस्का दोनों का पिता था।
30 Sotheli Saray was bareyn, and hadde no children.
३०सारै तो बाँझ थी; उसके सन्तान न हुई।
31 And so Thare took Abram, his sone, and Loth, the sone of Aran his sone, and Saray, his douyter in lawe, the wijf of Abram, his sone, and ledde hem out of Vr of Caldeis, that thei schulen go in to the lond of Chanaan; and thei camen `til to Aran, and dwelliden there.
३१और तेरह अपने पुत्र अब्राम, और अपने पोते लूत, जो हारान का पुत्र था, और अपनी बहू सारै, जो उसके पुत्र अब्राम की पत्नी थी, इन सभी को लेकर कसदियों के ऊर नगर से निकल कनान देश जाने को चला; पर हारान नामक देश में पहुँचकर वहीं रहने लगा।
32 And the daies of Thare weren maad two hundrid yeer and fyue, and he was deed in Aran.
३२जब तेरह दो सौ पाँच वर्ष का हुआ, तब वह हारान देश में मर गया।
