Galatians 2
1 And sith fourtene yeer aftir, eftsones Y wente vp to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took with me Tite.
Kisha, baada ya miaka kumi na minne, nilipanda tena kwenda Yerusalemu pamoja na Barnaba, nikamchukua na Tito ili awe pamoja nami.
2 Y wente vp bi reuelacioun, and spak with hem the euangelie, which Y preche among the hethene; and bi hem silf to these that semeden to be sumwhat, lest Y runne, or hadde runne in veyne.
Nilikwenda kwa sababu nilikuwa nimefunuliwa na Mungu, ili nikawaeleze kwa faragha wale walioonekana kuwa viongozi, ile Injili ninayoihubiri kwa watu wa Mataifa. Nilifanya hivyo kwa kuhofia kwamba nisije nikawa nilikuwa ninakimbia au nilikimbia bure.
3 And nother Tite, that hadde be with me, while he was hethene, was compellid to be circumsidid;
Lakini hata Tito ambaye alikuwa Myunani, hakulazimika kutahiriwa.
4 but for false britheren that weren brouyt ynne, whiche hadden entrid to aspie oure fredom, which we han in Jhesu Crist, to bring vs in to seruage.
Lakini kwa sababu ya ndugu wa uongo ambao walijiingiza kwa siri katikati yetu ili kupeleleza uhuru wetu tulio nao katika Kristo Yesu, wapate kututia utumwani,
5 But we yyue no place to subieccioun, that the treuthe of the gospel schulde dwelle with you.
hatukukubaliana nao hata dakika moja, ili kwamba ukweli wa Injili ubaki nanyi.
6 But of these that semeden to be sumwhat; whiche thei weren sum tyme, it perteyneth not to me, for God takith not the persoone of man; for thei that semeden to be sumwhat, yauen me no thing.
Kwa habari ya wale waliokuwa wakubaliwe kuwa viongozi (kwangu mimi sikujali vyeo vyao, maana Mungu hana upendeleo), wale watu hawakuniongezea chochote.
7 But ayenward, whanne thei hadden seyn, that the euangelie of prepucie was youun to me, as the euangelie of circumcisioun was youun to Petre;
Badala yake walitambua kwamba nilikuwa nimekabidhiwa kazi ya kuhubiri Injili kwa watu wa Mataifa, kama vile Petro alivyokabidhiwa kuhubiri Injili kwa Wayahudi.
8 for he that wrouyte to Petre in apostlehed of circumcisioun, wrouyte also to me among the hethene;
Kwa maana, Mungu aliyekuwa akitenda kazi katika huduma ya Petro kama mtume kwa Wayahudi, ndiye pia aliyekuwa anatenda kazi katika huduma yangu kama mtume kwa watu wa Mataifa.
9 and whanne thei hadden knowe the grace of God, that was youun to me, James, and Petre, and Joon, whiche weren seyn to be the pileris, thei yauen riythond of felowschip to me and to Barnabas, that we among the hethene, and thei in to circumcisioun;
Basi, Yakobo, Kefa na Yohana, walioonekana kama nguzo za kanisa, walitupa mkono wa shirika, mimi na Barnaba walipotambua ile neema niliyopewa. Wakakubali kwamba sisi twende kwa watu wa Mataifa na wao waende kwa Wayahudi.
10 oneli that we hadde mynde of pore men `of Crist, the which thing Y was ful bisi to doon.
Walichotuomba ni kwamba tuendelee kuwakumbuka maskini, jambo ambalo ndilo nililokuwa na shauku ya kulifanya.
11 But whanne Petre was comun to Antioche, Y ayenstood hym in the face, for he was worthi to be vndirnommen.
Lakini Petro alipofika Antiokia, mimi nilimpinga ana kwa ana kwa sababu alikuwa amekosea kwa wazi.
12 For bifor that ther camen summen fro James, he eete with the hethene men; but whanne thei weren comun, he withdrowy, and departide hym, dredinge hem that weren of circumcisioun.
Kabla baadhi ya watu waliotoka kwa Yakobo hawajafika, alikuwa akila pamoja na watu wa Mataifa. Lakini hao watu walipofika alianza kujiondoa na kujitenga na watu wa Mataifa kwa sababu aliwaogopa wale wa kundi la tohara.
13 And the othere Jewis assentiden to his feynyng, so that Barnabas was drawun of hem in to that feynyng.
Pia Wayahudi wengine waliungana naye katika unafiki huu, hata Barnaba naye akapotoshwa na unafiki wao.
14 But whanne Y sawy, that thei walkiden not riytli to the treuthe of the gospel, Y seide to Petre bifor alle men, If thou, that art a Jew, lyuest hethenlich, and not Jewelich, hou constreynest thou hethene men to bicome Jewis?
Nilipoona kwamba hawatendi sawasawa na kweli ya Injili, nilimwambia Petro mbele ya wote, “Wewe ni Myahudi, nawe unaishi kama mtu wa Mataifa na wala si kama Myahudi. Imekuwaje basi, mnawalazimisha watu wa Mataifa kufuata desturi za Kiyahudi?
15 We Jewis of kynde, and not synful men of the hethene,
“Sisi wenyewe ni Wayahudi kwa kuzaliwa na si watu wenye dhambi kama watu wa Mataifa,
16 knowen that a man is not iustified of the werkis of lawe, but bi the feith of Jhesu Crist; and we bileuen in Jhesu Crist, that we ben iustified of the feith of Crist, and not of the werkis of lawe. Wherfor of the werkis of lawe ech fleisch schal not be iustified.
bado tunajua ya kwamba mtu hahesabiwi haki kwa matendo ya sheria bali kwa njia ya imani katika Yesu Kristo. Hivyo sisi pia, tumemwamini Kristo Yesu ili tupate kuhesabiwa haki kwa njia ya imani katika Kristo, wala si kwa matendo ya sheria, kwa sababu kwa kushika sheria hakuna hata mtu mmoja atakayehesabiwa haki.
17 And if we sechen to be iustified in Crist, we oure silf ben foundun synful men, whether Crist be mynystre of synne?
“Lakini tukitafuta kuhesabiwa haki katika Kristo, inakuwa dhahiri kwamba sisi ni wenye dhambi. Je, ina maana kwamba Kristo amekuwa mtumishi wa dhambi? La hasha!
18 God forbede. And if Y bylde ayen thingis that Y haue distruyed, Y make my silf a trespassour.
Lakini ikiwa mimi ninajenga tena kile ambacho nimekwisha kukibomoa, basi ninaonyesha kwamba mimi ni mkosaji.
19 For bi the lawe Y am deed to the lawe, and Y am fitchid to the crosse, that Y lyue to God with Crist.
Kwa maana mimi kwa njia ya sheria, nimeifia sheria ili nipate kuishi kwa ajili ya Mungu.
20 And now lyue not Y, but Crist lyueth in me. But that Y lyue now in fleisch, Y lyue in the feith of Goddis sone, that louede me, and yaf hym silf for me.
Nimesulubiwa pamoja na Kristo, wala si mimi tena ninayeishi, bali Kristo ndiye aishiye ndani yangu. Uhai nilio nao sasa katika mwili, ninaishi kwa imani ya Mwana wa Mungu, aliyenipenda na kujitoa kwa ajili yangu.
21 Y caste not awey the grace of God; for if riytwisnesse be thoruy lawe, thanne Crist diede with out cause.
Siibatilishi neema ya Mungu, kwa maana kama haki ingeweza kupatikana kwa njia ya sheria, basi Kristo alikufa bure!”
