Ezekiel 31
1 And it was don in the enleuenthe yeer, in the thridde moneth, in the firste dai of the monethe, the word of the Lord was maad to me,
Vào ngày một, tháng ba, năm thứ mười một đời Vua Giê-hô-gia-kin bị lưu đày, Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền sứ điệp này cho tôi:
2 and he seide, Thou, sone of man, seie to Farao, kyng of Egipt, and to his puple, To whom art thou maad lijk in thi greetnesse?
“Hỡi con người, hãy truyền sứ điệp này cho Pha-ra-ôn, vua Ai Cập, cùng tất cả con dân của vua rằng: Các ngươi so sánh mình với ai?
3 Lo! Assur as a cedre in Liban, fair in braunchis, and ful of boowis, and hiy bi hiynesse; and his heiyte was reisid among thicke bowis.
Các ngươi như nước A-sy-ri, từng như giống cây bá hương tại Li-ban, cành lá rậm rạp che bóng mát và ngọn vươn cao lên đến mây xanh.
4 Watris nurschiden hym, the depthe of watris enhaunside him; hise floodis fletiden out in the cumpas of hise rootis, and he sente out hise strondis to alle the trees of the cuntrei.
Rễ đâm sâu xuống các mạch nước ngầm, giúp cây mọc cao lớn và sum suê. Nước chảy chung quanh như sông, suối chảy gần cây xanh.
5 Therfor his hiynesse was enhaunsid ouer alle trees of the cuntrei, and hise trees weren multiplied, and hise braunchis weren reisid, for many watris.
Cây này vượt cao hẵn, cao hơn tất cả các cây khác chung quanh nó. Cây tươi tốt, cành lá rậm rạp nhờ các mạch nước dưới đất.
6 And whanne he hadde stretchid forth his schadewe, alle the volatils of the eir maden nestis in hise braunchis; and alle the beestis of forestis gendriden vndur hise boowis, and the cumpeny of ful many folkis dwellide vndur the schadewynge place of hym.
Chim chóc làm tổ trên cành, và dưới tàng cây, thú vật sinh con. Tất cả dân tộc lớn trên đất đến cư ngụ dưới bóng của nó.
7 And he was ful fair in his greetnesse, and in alargyng of hise trees; for the roote of hym was bisidis many watris.
Cây mạnh mẽ và xinh đẹp với cành lá vươn dài, vì rễ cây đâm sâu xuống chỗ mạch nước.
8 Cedris in the paradijs of God weren not hiyere than he; fir trees atteyneden not euenli to the hiynesse of hym, and plane trees weren not euene with the boowis of hym. Ech tree of paradijs of God was not maad lic hym and his fairnesse.
Không có cây bá hương nào trong vườn Đức Chúa Trời có thể sánh với nó. Cây bách cũng không sánh được nhánh nó; cây hạt dẻ không bằng cành nó. Không cây nào trong vườn Đức Chúa Trời tươi đẹp bằng nó.
9 For Y made hym fair, and with many and thicke boowis; and alle the trees of lust, that weren in the paradijs of God, hadden enuye to hym.
Vì Ta ban cho cây này xinh đẹp, và cho hoa lá nó tốt tươi, nên tất cả cây cối tại Ê-đen, là vườn của Đức Chúa Trời đều ghen tị.
10 Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that he was reisid in hiynesse, and he yaf his hyynesse greene and thicke, and his herte was reisid in his hiynesse;
Vì thế, đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Vì nó trở nên kiêu căng và ngạo mạn, và vì nó cao hơn các cây khác, ngọn lên đến tận mây,
11 now Y haue youe hym in to the hondis of the strongeste man of hethene men. And he doynge schal do to that Assur; aftir the vnfeithfulnesse of hym Y castide hym out.
nên Ta sẽ phó nó vào tay một nước hùng mạnh, nước này sẽ hủy diệt nó vì tội ác nó. Chính Ta sẽ đốn nó ngã.
12 And aliens, and the moost cruel men of naciouns, schulen kitte hym doun, and schulen caste hym forth on hillis. And hise braunchis schulen falle doun in alle grete valeis, and hise trees schulen be brokun in alle roochis of stoon of erthe. And alle the puplis of erthe schulen go awei fro his schadewing place, and schulen forsake hym.
Quân đội nước ngoài—là sự kinh hoàng của các dân tộc—sẽ đốn nó ngã xuống nằm dài trên mặt đất. Nhánh cây gãy rơi khắp núi non, thung lũng, và sông ngòi. Dân cư dưới bóng nó sẽ bỏ đi và để nó nằm lại đó.
13 Alle volatils of the eir dwelliden in the fallyng of hym, and alle beestis of the cuntrei weren in the braunchis of hym.
Chim trời sẽ đến ở trên thân cây bị ngã, và thú rừng đến nằm trên cành lá.
14 Wherfor alle the trees of watris schulen not be reisid in hir hiynesse, nether schulen sette hir hiynesse among places ful of woode, and ful of boowis, and alle trees that ben moistid of watris schulen not stonde in the hiynesse of tho. For alle thei ben youun in to deth, to the ferthest lond in the myddis of the sones of men, to hem that goon doun in to the lake.
Như thế, sẽ chẳng có cây của nước nào còn hân hoan kiêu ngạo trong phồn vinh của nó, dù nó vươn ngọn lên tận mây xanh và rễ đâm sâu xuống nước. Vì tất cả đều bị kết tội chết, cùng đi xuống vực sâu của đất. Chúng sẽ bị đẩy vào hồ chung với những kẻ khác trên đất.”
15 The Lord God seith these thingis, In the dai whanne he yede doun to hellis, Y brouyte yn mourenyng; Y hilide hym with depthe of watris, and I forbede his flodis, and Y refreynede many watris. The Liban was sori on him, and alle the trees of the feeld (Sheol h7585)
“Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Ngày A-sy-ri xuống âm phủ, Ta sẽ khiến các suối sâu than khóc. Ta sẽ ngăn các dòng sông và làm khô cạn những dòng nước. Ta sẽ khiến Li-ban ảm đạm và cây cối nó héo tàn. (Sheol h7585)
16 weren shakun of the soun of his falling. I mouide togidere hethene men, whanne Y ledde hym doun to helle, with hem that yeden doun in to the lake. And alle trees of likyng, noble trees, and ful cleere in the Liban, alle that weren moistid with watris, weren coumfortid in the loweste lond. (Sheol h7585)
Ta sẽ làm các dân tộc rúng động khi nghe tiếng nó ngã, vì Ta sẽ ném nó xuống âm phủ với những kẻ giống như nó. Mọi cây cối kiêu ngạo của Ê-đen, những cây xinh đẹp và tươi tốt nhất của Li-ban, những cây có rễ đâm sâu xuống nước, đều được an ủi nơi âm phủ khi thấy nó cũng vào đó. (Sheol h7585)
17 For whi also thei schulen go doun with hym to helle, to slayn men with swerd; and the arm of ech man schal sitte vndur the schadewyng place of hym, in the myddis of naciouns. (Sheol h7585)
Những dân tộc liên minh cũng vậy, đều bị tiêu diệt và bị chết. Chúng đều đi xuống âm phủ—tức là những dân tộc đã sống dưới bóng của nó. (Sheol h7585)
18 To whom art thou licned, thou noble and hiy among the trees of likyng? Lo! thou art led doun with the trees of likyng to the fertheste lond. In the myddis of vncircumcidid men thou schalt slepe, with hem that ben slayn bi swerd. Thilke is Farao, and al the multitude of hym, seith the Lord God.
Hỡi Ai Cập, ngươi sẽ so sánh sức mạnh và vinh quang ngươi với cây nào tại Ê-đen? Ngươi cũng sẽ bị ném xuống âm phủ cùng với những dân tộc này. Ngươi sẽ ở chung với những dân ngươi khinh bỉ, bị giết bằng gươm. Đây là số phận của Pha-ra-ôn và toàn dân của hắn. Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao, đã phán vậy!”
