Ezekiel 31
1 And it was don in the enleuenthe yeer, in the thridde moneth, in the firste dai of the monethe, the word of the Lord was maad to me,
Und im elften Jahr, im dritten Monat, am ersten des Monats, da erging das Wort Jahwes an mich folgendermaßen:
2 and he seide, Thou, sone of man, seie to Farao, kyng of Egipt, and to his puple, To whom art thou maad lijk in thi greetnesse?
Menschensohn, sprich zum Pharao, dem Könige von Ägypten und zu seinem Gepränge: Wem gleichst du in deiner Größe?
3 Lo! Assur as a cedre in Liban, fair in braunchis, and ful of boowis, and hiy bi hiynesse; and his heiyte was reisid among thicke bowis.
Fürwahr, eine Ceder stand auf dem Libanon, schön von Astwerk und schattenspendender Belaubung und hoch an Wuchs, und zwischen den Wolken war ihr Wipfel.
4 Watris nurschiden hym, the depthe of watris enhaunside him; hise floodis fletiden out in the cumpas of hise rootis, and he sente out hise strondis to alle the trees of the cuntrei.
Wasser hatte sie groß gemacht, die Flut sie hochgebracht; mit ihrer Strömung umzog sie rings die Stätte, wo jene gepflanzt war, und entsandte ihre Rinnsale zu allen Bäumen des Gefilds.
5 Therfor his hiynesse was enhaunsid ouer alle trees of the cuntrei, and hise trees weren multiplied, and hise braunchis weren reisid, for many watris.
Daher überragte ihr Wuchs alle Bäume des Gefilds; es mehrten sich ihre Zweige, und es verlängerten sich ihre Äste von dem reichlichen Wasser.
6 And whanne he hadde stretchid forth his schadewe, alle the volatils of the eir maden nestis in hise braunchis; and alle the beestis of forestis gendriden vndur hise boowis, and the cumpeny of ful many folkis dwellide vndur the schadewynge place of hym.
In ihren Zweigen nisteten allerlei Vögel des Himmels, und unter ihren Ästen gebaren alle Tiere des Feldes, und in ihrem Schatten wohnten alle die vielen Völker.
7 And he was ful fair in his greetnesse, and in alargyng of hise trees; for the roote of hym was bisidis many watris.
Und sie war schön in ihrer Größe, durch die Länge ihrer Zweige, denn ihre Wurzel war an reichlichem Wasser.
8 Cedris in the paradijs of God weren not hiyere than he; fir trees atteyneden not euenli to the hiynesse of hym, and plane trees weren not euene with the boowis of hym. Ech tree of paradijs of God was not maad lic hym and his fairnesse.
Cedern verdunkelten sie nicht im Garten Gottes; Cypressen glichen ihr nicht mit ihren Zweigen. Platanen kamen ihr nicht gleich mit ihren Ästen; kein Baum im Garten Gottes glich ihr an Schönheit.
9 For Y made hym fair, and with many and thicke boowis; and alle the trees of lust, that weren in the paradijs of God, hadden enuye to hym.
Schön hatte ich sie gemacht in der Fülle ihrer Zweige, und es beneideten sie alle Bäume Edens, die im Garten Gottes standen.
10 Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that he was reisid in hiynesse, and he yaf his hyynesse greene and thicke, and his herte was reisid in his hiynesse;
Darum spricht der Herr Jahwe also: Weil sie hoch ward an Wuchs und ihren Wipfel zwischen Wolken streckte, und weil ihr Sinn hochfahrend war infolge ihres Hochwachsens,
11 now Y haue youe hym in to the hondis of the strongeste man of hethene men. And he doynge schal do to that Assur; aftir the vnfeithfulnesse of hym Y castide hym out.
darum gab ich sie in die Gewalt eines Starken unter den Völkern, der sollte verfahren mit ihr nach seiner Bosheit, bis ich ihn vertrieben haben würde.
12 And aliens, and the moost cruel men of naciouns, schulen kitte hym doun, and schulen caste hym forth on hillis. And hise braunchis schulen falle doun in alle grete valeis, and hise trees schulen be brokun in alle roochis of stoon of erthe. And alle the puplis of erthe schulen go awei fro his schadewing place, and schulen forsake hym.
Und es fällten sie Fremde, grausamste Völker, und warfen sie hin. Auf die Berge und in alle Thäler fielen ihre Zweige, und ihre Äste lagen zerbrochen in allen Bachthälern des Landes, und alle Völker der Erde zogen fort aus ihrem Schatten und ließen sie liegen.
13 Alle volatils of the eir dwelliden in the fallyng of hym, and alle beestis of the cuntrei weren in the braunchis of hym.
Auf ihrem gefällten Stamme wohnten alle Vögel des Himmels, und an ihre Äste kam alles Getier des Feldes,
14 Wherfor alle the trees of watris schulen not be reisid in hir hiynesse, nether schulen sette hir hiynesse among places ful of woode, and ful of boowis, and alle trees that ben moistid of watris schulen not stonde in the hiynesse of tho. For alle thei ben youun in to deth, to the ferthest lond in the myddis of the sones of men, to hem that goon doun in to the lake.
damit keinerlei Bäume am Wasser wieder hoch an Wuchs würden und ihren Wipfel zwischen die Wolken streckten, und ihre gewaltigen nicht stolz daständen in ihrer Höhe, alle Wasser trinkenden. Denn sie alle sind dem Tode preisgegeben, daß sie hinab müssen in die Unterwelt, inmitten der Menschenkinder, zu den in die Gruft Hinabgestiegenen!
15 The Lord God seith these thingis, In the dai whanne he yede doun to hellis, Y brouyte yn mourenyng; Y hilide hym with depthe of watris, and I forbede his flodis, and Y refreynede many watris. The Liban was sori on him, and alle the trees of the feeld (Sheol h7585)
So spricht der Herr Jahwe: An dem Tage, da sie hinabfuhr in die Unterwelt, da ließ ich trauern über sie die Flut und hielt ihre Strömung zurück, und gehemmt wurden die reichlichen Wasser; in Schwarz hüllte ich ihretwegen den Libanon, und alle Bäume des Feldes waren ihretwegen verschmachtet. 16 weren shakun of the soun of his falling. I mouide togidere hethene men, whanne Y ledde hym doun to helle, with hem that yeden doun in to the lake. And alle trees of likyng, noble trees, and ful cleere in the Liban, alle that weren moistid with watris, weren coumfortid in the loweste lond. (Sheol h7585)
Durch das Getöse ihres Falls machte ich die Völker erzittern, als ich sie in die Unterwelt hinabstieß zu den in die Gruft Hinabgestiegenen, und es trösteten sich in der Unterwelt alle Bäume Edens, die auserlesenen und besten des Libanon, alle Wasser trinkenden. (Sheol h7585)
17 For whi also thei schulen go doun with hym to helle, to slayn men with swerd; and the arm of ech man schal sitte vndur the schadewyng place of hym, in the myddis of naciouns. (Sheol h7585)
Auch sie fuhren mit ihr hinab in die Unterwelt zu den vom Schwert Erschlagenen, die in ihrem Schatten gewohnt hatten, inmitten der Völker. (Sheol h7585)
18 To whom art thou licned, thou noble and hiy among the trees of likyng? Lo! thou art led doun with the trees of likyng to the fertheste lond. In the myddis of vncircumcidid men thou schalt slepe, with hem that ben slayn bi swerd. Thilke is Farao, and al the multitude of hym, seith the Lord God.
Wem konntest du verglichen werden an Herrlichkeit und Größe unter den Bäumen Edens? Aber mit den Bäumen Edens wirst du hinabgestoßen werden in die Unterwelt; inmitten Unbeschnittener wirst du liegen bei den vom Schwert Erschlagenen: das ist der Pharao und all' sein Gepränge, ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe.
