Ezekiel 3
1 And he seide to me, Sone of man, ete thou what euer thing thou fyndist, ete thou this volym; and go thou, and speke to the sones of Israel.
Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, tout ce que tu trouveras, mange-le, mange ce livre, et va parler aux fils d’Israël.
2 And Y openyde my mouth, and he fedde me with that volym.
Et j’ouvris ma bouche, et il me fit manger ce livre;
3 And he seide to me, Sone of man, thi wombe schal ete, and thin entrails schulen be fillid with this volym, which Y yyue to thee. And Y eet it, and it was maad as swete hony in my mouth.
Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, ton ventre mangera; et tes entrailles seront remplies de ce livre que moi je te donne. Et je le mangeai, et il fut dans ma bouche comme un miel doux.
4 And he seide to me, Sone of man, go thou to the hous of Israel, and thou schalt speke my wordis to hem.
Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, va à la maison d’Israël, et tu leur diras mes paroles.
5 For thou schalt not be sent to a puple of hiy word, and of vnknowun langage; thou schalt be sent to the hous of Israel,
Car ce n’est pas vers un peuple d’un langage profond et d’une langue inconnue, que tu seras envoyé, mais à la maison d’Israël;
6 nether to many puplis of hiy word, and of vnknowun langage, of whiche thou maist not here the wordis. And if thou were sent to hem, thei schulden here thee.
Ni à des peuples nombreux, d’un langage profond et d’une langue inconnue, et dont tu ne puisses pas entendre les paroles; et si tu étais envoyé vers eux, ils t’écouteraient.
7 But the hous of Israel nylen here thee, for thei nylen here me. For al the hous of Israel is of vnschamefast forheed, and of hard herte.
Mais la maison d’Israël ne veut pas t’écouter, parce qu’elle ne veut pas m’écouter; car toute la maison d’Israël est d’un front d’airain et d’un cœur dur.
8 Lo! Y yaf thi face strongere than the faces of hem, and thi forheed hardere than the forheedis of hem.
Voilà que j’ai rendu ta face plus ferme que leurs faces, et ton front plus dur que leurs fronts.
9 Y yaf thi face as an adamaunt, and as a flynt; drede thou not hem, nether drede thou of the face of hem, for it is an hous terrynge to wraththe.
Comme un diamant, comme une pierre, j’ai rendu ta face; ne les crains pas, ne redoute pas leur face, parce que c’est une maison qui m’exaspère.
10 And he seide to me, Sone of man, take in thin herte, and here with thin eeris alle these my wordis, whiche Y speke to thee.
Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, toutes les paroles que moi je te dis, prends-les dans ton cœur, et écoute-les de tes oreilles;
11 And go thou, and entre to the passyng ouer, to the sones of thi puple. And thou schalt speke to hem, and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, if perauenture thei heren, and resten.
Et va, rejoins la transmigration, les fils de ton peuple; tu leur parleras, et tu leur diras: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu; pour voir si par hasard ils écouteront et s’ils y manqueront.
12 And the spirit took me, and Y herde after me the vois of a greet mouyng. The blessid glorie of the Lord was herd fro his place;
Et un esprit m’enleva, et j’entendis derrière moi la voix d’une grande commotion: Bénie la gloire du Seigneur de son lieu;
13 and Y herde the vois of wyngis of the beestis smytynge oon an othir, and the vois of wheelis suynge the beestis, and the vois of greet stiryng.
Et j’entendis la voix des ailes des animaux, qui les frappaient l’une contre l’autre, et la voix des roues qui suivaient les animaux, et la voix d’une grande commotion.
14 Also the spirit reiside me, and took me. And Y yede forth bittir in the indignacioun of my spirit; for the hond of the Lord was with me, and coumfortide me.
Un esprit donc me souleva et m’emporta; et je m’en allai plein d’amertume dans l’indignation de mon esprit: mais la main du Seigneur était avec moi, me fortifiant.
15 And Y cam to the passyng ouer, to the heep of newe fruytis, to hem that dwelliden bisidis the flood Chobar. And Y sat where thei saten, and Y dwellide there seuene daies, weilynge, in the myddis of hem.
Et je vins à la transmigration, près d’un tas de nouveaux fruits, vers ceux qui habitaient le long du fleuve de Chobar; et je m’assis où ils étaient assis, et je demeurai là sept jours triste au milieu d’eux.
16 Forsothe whanne seuene daies weren passid, the word of the Lord was maad to me, and seide, Sone of man,
Mais lorsque furent passés les sept jours, la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
17 Y yaf thee `a spiere to the hous of Israel. And thou schalt here of my mouth a word, and thou schalt telle to hem of me.
Fils d’un homme, je t’ai établi sentinelle dans la maison d’Israël; tu entendras de ma bouche une parole, et tu la leur annonceras de ma part.
18 If whanne Y seie to the wickid man, Thou schalt die bi deth, thou tellist not to hym, and spekist not to hym, that he be turned fro his wickid weie, and lyue; thilke wickid man schal die in his wickidnesse, but Y schal seke his blood of thin hond.
Si, moi disant à l’impie: Tu mourras de mort, tu ne le lui annonces pas, et ne lui parles pas pour qu’il se détourne de sa voie impie, et qu’il vive, l’impie lui-même dans son iniquité mourra; mais je redemanderai son sang à ta main.
19 Forsothe if thou tellist to the wickid man, and he is not conuertid fro his wickidnesse, and fro his wickid weie; sotheli he schal die in his wickidnesse, but thou hast delyuerid thi soule.
Mais si tu l’annonces à l’impie, et qu’il ne se détourne pas de son impiété et de sa voie impie, lui-même, à la vérité, mourra dans son iniquité; mais toi, tu auras délivré ton âme.
20 But also if a iust man is turned fro his riytfulnesse, and doith wickidnesse, Y schal sette an hirtyng bifor hym; he schal die, for thou teldist not to hym; he schal die in his synne, and hise riytfulnessis, whiche he dide, schulen not be in mynde, but Y schal seke his blood of thin hond.
Mais si le juste abandonne sa justice et commet l’iniquité, je mettrai une pierre d’achoppement devant lui; il mourra lui-même, parce que tu ne le lui as pas annoncé; il mourra dans son péché, et il ne sera pas mémoire de ses œuvres de justice qu’il a faites; mais je te redemanderai son sang.
21 Forsothe if thou tellist to a iust man, that a iust man do not synne, and he doith not synne, he lyuynge schal lyue, for thou teldist to hym, and thou hast delyuered thi soule.
Mais si toi, tu annonces au juste de ne pas pécher, et que lui ne pèche pas; vivant, il vivra, parce que tu lui as annoncé, et toi, tu as délivré ton âme.
22 And the hond of the Lord was maad on me, and he seide to me, Rise thou, and go out in to the feeld, and there Y schal speke with thee.
Et la main du Seigneur fut sur moi, et il me dit: Lève-toi, sors dans la campagne, et là je te parlerai.
23 And Y roos, and yede out in to the feeld. And lo! the glorie of the Lord stood there, as the glorie which Y siy bisidis the flood Chobar; and Y felle doun on my face.
Et je me levai, et je sortis dans la plaine; et voici que là était la gloire du Seigneur, comme la gloire que je vis près du fleuve de Chobar; et je tombai sur ma face.
24 And the spirit entride in to me, and settide me on my feet. And he spak to me, and seide to me, Entre thou, and be thou closid in the myddis of thin hous.
Et un esprit entra en moi et m’établit sur mes pieds, et le Seigneur me parla et il me dit: Entre, enferme-toi au milieu de ta maison.
25 And thou, sone of man, lo! boondis ben youun on thee, and thei schulen bynde thee with tho, and thou schalt not go out in the myddis of hem.
Et toi, fils d’un homme, voici qu’on met sur toi des chaînes; ils t’en lieront, et tu ne sortiras pas du milieu d’eux.
26 And Y schal make thi tunge to cleue to the roof of thi mouth, and thou schalt be doumbe, and thou schalt not be as a man rebuykinge; for it is an hous terrynge to wraththe.
Et je ferai que ta langue s’attachera à ton palais; et tu seras muet, et non plus comme un homme qui réprimande; parce que c’est une maison qui m’exaspère.
27 But whanne Y schal speke to thee, Y schal opene thi mouth, and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, He that herith, here, and he that restith, reste; for it is an hous terrynge to wraththe.
Mais, lorsque je t’aurai parlé, j’ouvrirai ta bouche et tu leur diras: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Que celui qui écoute, écoute; que celui qui y manque, y manque; car c’est une maison qui m’exaspère.
