Ezekiel 26
1 And it was doon in the enleuenthe yeer, in the firste dai of the monethe, the word of the Lord was maad to me, and he seide,
La onzième année, le premier du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:
2 Thou, sone of man, for that that Tire seide of Jerusalem, Wel! the yatis of puplis ben brokun, it is turned to me; Y schal be fillid, it is forsakun;
« Fils de l’homme, parce que Tyr a dit de Jérusalem: Ha! Ha! elle est brisée, la porte des peuples! on se tourne vers moi; je vais me remplir! elle est devenue un désert! —
3 therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Tire, Y on thee; and Y schal make many folkis to stie to thee, as the see flowynge stieth.
à cause de cela ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je viens contre toi, Tyr! Je vais faire monter contre toi des nations nombreuses, comme la mer fait monter ses flots.
4 And thei schulen distrie the wallis of Tire, and thei schulen distrie the touris therof; and Y schal rase the dust therof fro it, and Y schal yyue it in to a `moost clere stoon.
Elles détruiront les murs de Tyr, et abattront ses tours; je balaierai loin d’elle sa poussière, et je ferai d’elle un rocher nu.
5 Driyng of nettis schal be in the myddis of the see, for Y spak, seith the Lord God. And Tire schal be in to rauysching to hethene men.
Elle sera, au milieu de la mer, un lieu où l’on étend les filets; car moi j’ai parlé, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh; elle sera la proie des nations.
6 And the douytris therof that ben in the feeld, schulen be slayn bi swerd; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.
Ses filles qui sont sur la terre ferme seront tuées par l’épée, et on saura que je suis Yahweh.
7 For whi the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal brynge to Tire Nabugodonosor, the king of Babiloyne, fro the north, the kyng of kyngis, with horsis, and charis, and knyytis, and with a cumpeny, and greet puple.
Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je vais amener du septentrion contre Tyr, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, le roi des rois, avec des chevaux, des chars, des cavaliers, et une multitude de troupes et un peuple nombreux.
8 He schal sle bi swerd thi douytris that ben in the feeld, and he schal cumpasse thee with strengthingis, and he schal bere togidere erthe in cumpas. And he schal reise a scheeld ayens thee,
Il tuera par l’épée tes filles sur la terre ferme, il construira contre toi des murs, il élèvera contre toi des terrasses, et dressera contre toi la tortue.
9 and he schal tempre engynes lijc vineres, and engines `that ben clepid wetheris ayens thi wallis; and he schal distrie thi touris bi his armure.
Il dirigera contre tes murs le choc de ses béliers, et démolira tes tours avec ses crochets.
10 Bi flowynge of his horsis, the dust of tho schal hile thee; thi wallis schulen be mouyd of the soun of knyytis, and of wheelis, and of charis; whanne he schal entre bi the yatis, as bi entryngis of a citee distried,
Telle sera la multitude de ses chevaux que leur poussière te couvrira; au bruit des cavaliers, des roues et des chars, tes murs trembleront, quand il entrera dans tes portes; comme on entre dans une ville forcée.
11 with the clees of hise horsis he schal defoule alle thi stretis. He shal sle bi swerd thi puple, and thi noble ymagis schulen falle doun in to erthe.
Du sabot de ses chevaux, il foulera toutes les rues; il tuera ton peuple par l’épée, et tes puissantes colonnes seront jetées par terre.
12 Thei schulen waste thi richessis, thei schulen rauysche thi marchaundies; and thei schulen distrie thi wallis, and thei schulen distrie thin housis ful clere, and thi stoonys, and thi trees, and thei schulen putte thi dust in the myddis of watris.
Ils enlèveront tes richesses, pilleront tes marchandises, abattront tes murailles, renverseront tes beaux palais, et jetteront au milieu des eaux tes pierres, ton bois et ta poussière.
13 And Y schal make to reste the multitude of thi syngeris, and the sown of thin harpis schal no more be herd;
Je ferai cesser le bruit de tes chansons, et le son de tes cithares ne se fera plus entendre.
14 and Y schal yyue thee in to a moost cleer stoon. Thou schalt be driyng of nettis, and thou schalt no more be bildid, for Y the Lord spak, seith the Lord God.
Je ferai de toi un rocher nu, tu seras un lieu où l’on étend les filets; tu ne seras plus rebâtie; car moi, Yahweh, j’ai parlé, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.
15 The Lord God seith these thingis of Tire, Whether ilis schulen not be moued of the sown of thi fal, and of weiling of thi slayn men, whanne thei ben slayn in the myddis of thee?
Ainsi parle à Tyr le Seigneur Yahweh: Au bruit de ta chute, quand tes blessés pousseront des gémissements, quand le carnage sévira au milieu de toi, les îles ne trembleront-elles pas?
16 And alle the princis of the see schulen go doun of her seetis, and thei schulen do awei her mentils, ether spuylis of slayn enemyes, and thei schulen caste awei her dyuerse clothis, and shulen be clothid with wondring. Thei shulen sitte in the erthe, and thei shulen be astonyed, and thei shulen wondre of thi sodeyn fal.
Et ils descendront de leurs trônes, tous les princes de la mer; ils quitteront leurs manteaux, et déposeront leurs vêtements brodés; ils se vêtiront d’épouvante, ils s’assoieront sur la terre; ils trembleront à chaque moment, et seront dans la stupeur à cause de toi.
17 And thei shulen take weilyng on thee, and schule seie to thee, Hou perischidist thou, noble citee, that dwellist in the see, that were strong in the see with thi dwelleris, whiche dwelleris alle men dredden?
Et ils prononceront sur toi une complainte, et ils te diront: « Comment as-tu péri, toi qui te dressais au sein des mers, ô toi ville célèbre, qui étais puissante sur la mer, toi et tes habitants, alors qu’ils inspiraient la terreur à tous les habitants de la mer. »
18 Now schippis schulen wondre in the dai of thi drede, and ilis in the see schulen be disturblid, for noon goith out of thee.
Maintenant les îles trembleront au jour de ta chute, et les îles qui sont dans la mer seront épouvantées de ta fin.
19 For the Lord God seith these thingis, Whanne Y schal yyue thee a citee desolat, as the citees that ben not enhabitid, and Y schal bringe on thee the depthe of watris, and many watris schulen hile thee.
Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Quand j’aurai fait de toi une ville déserte, comme les villes qui n’ont point d’habitants; quand j’aurai fait monter sur toi l’abîme, et que les grandes eaux t’auront couverte,
20 And Y schal drawe thee doun with hem that goon doun in to a lake, to the puple euerlastynge; and Y schal sette thee in the laste lond, as elde wildirnessis, with hem that ben led doun in to a lake, that thou be not enhabited. Certis whanne Y schal yyue glorye in the lond of lyueris,
je te ferai descendre avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, vers les peuples d’autrefois; je te ferai habiter dans les profondeurs de la terre, dans les solitudes éternelles, avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, pour que tu ne sois plus habitée; et je mettrai un ornement sur la terre des vivants.
21 Y schal dryue thee in to nouyt, and thou schalt not be; and thou schalt be souyt, and thou schalt no more be foundun with outen ende, seith the Lord God.
Je ferai de toi un objet d’épouvante, et tu ne seras plus; on te cherchera, et on ne te trouvera plus jamais, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. »
