Ezekiel 25

1 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,

Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:

2 and he seide, Thou, sone of man, sette thi face ayens the sones of Amon, and thou schalt profesie of hem.

Fils d’homme, tourne ta face vers les fils d’Ammon, et prophétise contre eux,

3 And thou schalt seie to the sones of Amon, Here ye the word of the Lord God; the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that ye seiden, Wel! wel! on my seyntuarie, for it is defoulid, and on the lond of Israel, for it is maad desolat, and on the hous of Juda, for thei ben led in to to caitifte; lo!

et dis aux fils d’Ammon: Écoutez la parole du Seigneur, l’Éternel! Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Parce que tu as dit: Ha ha! contre mon sanctuaire, quand il a été profané, et contre la terre d’Israël, quand elle a été désolée, et contre la maison de Juda, quand elle est allée en captivité:

4 therfor Y schal yyue thee the sones of the eest in to eritage, and thei schulen sette her foldis in thee, and thei shulen sette her tentis in thee; thei schulen ete thi fruytis, and thei schulen drynke thi mylk.

à cause de cela, voici, je te donne en possession aux fils de l’orient, et ils établiront chez toi leurs parcs, et placeront chez toi leurs demeures; ils mangeront tes fruits et boiront ton lait.

5 And Y schal yyue Rabath in to a dwellyng place of camels, and the sones of Amon in to a bed of beestis; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.

Et je ferai de Rabba un pâturage pour les chameaux, et [du pays] des fils d’Ammon un gîte pour le menu bétail; et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.

6 For the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that thou flappidist with hond, and smytidist with the foot, and ioyedist of al desijr on the lond of Israel;

Car ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Parce que tu as battu des mains et que tu as frappé du pied, et que tu t’es réjoui dans tout le mépris que tu avais en ton âme contre la terre d’Israël, –

7 therfor lo! Y schal stretche forth myn hond on thee, and Y schal yyue thee in to rauyschyng of hethene men, and Y schal sle thee fro puplis, and Y schal leese thee, and al to-breke thee fro londis; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.

à cause de cela, voici, j’étendrai ma main sur toi et je te livrerai en proie aux nations, et je te retrancherai d’entre les peuples, et je te ferai périr d’entre les pays; je te détruirai, et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.

8 The Lord God seith these thingis, For that that Moab and Seir seiden, Lo! the hous of Juda is as alle folkis; therfor lo!

Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Parce que Moab et Séhir ont dit: Voici, la maison de Juda est comme toutes les nations;

9 Y schal opene the schuldre of Moab of citees, sotheli of citees therof and of the endis therof, the noble citees of the lond, Bethiesmoth, and Beelmoth,

à cause de cela, voici, j’ouvre le côté de Moab par les villes, par ses villes, jusqu’à la dernière, la gloire du pays, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Méon, et Kiriathaïm;

10 and Cariathaym, to the sones of the eest, with the sones of Amon. And Y schal yyue it in to eritage, that mynde of the sones of Amon be no more among hethene men,

[je l’ouvre] aux fils de l’orient, avec [le pays] des fils d’Ammon; et je le leur donnerai en possession, afin qu’on ne se souvienne plus des fils d’Ammon parmi les nations;

11 and in Moab Y schal make domes; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.

et j’exécuterai des jugements sur Moab; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.

12 The Lord God seith these thingis, For that that Ydumee dide veniaunce, that it avengide it silf of the sones of Juda, and synnede doynge trespas, and axide greetli veniaunce of hem;

Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: À cause de ce qu’Édom a fait quand il s’est vengé cruellement de la maison de Juda, et parce qu’il s’est rendu fort coupable en se vengeant d’eux, –

13 therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Y schal stretche forth myn hond on Idumee, and Y schal take awei fro it man and beeste, and Y schal make it desert of the south; and thei that ben in Dedan schulen falle bi swerd.

à cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: J’étendrai ma main aussi sur Édom, et j’en retrancherai hommes et bêtes, et j’en ferai un désert depuis Théman, et, jusqu’à Dedan, ils tomberont par l’épée;

14 And Y schal yyue my veniaunce on Idumee, bi the hond of my puple Israel; and thei schulen do in Edom bi my wraththe, and bi my strong veniaunce; and thei schulen knowe my veniaunce, seith the Lord God.

et j’exercerai ma vengeance sur Édom par la main de mon peuple Israël; et ils agiront en Édom selon ma colère et selon ma fureur; et ils connaîtront ma vengeance, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

15 The Lord God seith these thingis, For that that Palestyns diden veniaunce, and auengiden hem silf, with al wille sleynge, and fillynge elde enemytees;

Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: À cause de ce que les Philistins ont fait par vengeance, et parce qu’ils se sont vengés cruellement, dans le mépris de leurs âmes, pour détruire par une inimitié perpétuelle, –

16 therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal stretche forth myn hond on Palestyns, and Y schal sle sleeris, and Y schal leese the remenauntis of the se coost;

à cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, j’étends ma main sur les Philistins, et je retrancherai les Keréthiens, et je ferai périr le reste qui est sur le bord de la mer;

17 and Y schal make grete veniaunces in hem, and Y schal repreue in strong veniaunce; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal yyue my veniaunce on hem.

et j’exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances par des châtiments de fureur; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, quand j’exécuterai sur eux ma vengeance.
