< Ezekiel 2 >

1 And he seide to me, Thou, sone of man, stonde on thi feet, and Y schal speke with thee.
And he said to me O son of humankind stand on feet your so I may speak you.
2 And the spirit entride in to me, after that he spak to me, and settide me on my feet. And Y herde oon spekynge to me,
And it came in me a spirit just when he spoke to me and it made stand up me on feet my and I heard [one who] spoke to me.
3 and seiynge, Sone of man, Y sende thee to the sones of Israel, to folkis apostatas, `ether goynge a bak fro feith, that yeden awei fro me; the fadris of hem braken my couenaunt til to this dai.
And he said to me O son of humankind [am] sending I you to [the] people of Israel to nations rebellious which they have rebelled against me they and ancestors their they have transgressed against me until [the] substance of the day this.
4 And the sones ben of hard face, and of vnchastisable herte, to whiche Y sende thee. And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis;
And the children [are] stern of face and hard of heart I [am] sending you to them and you will say to them thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh.
5 if perauenture nameli thei heren, and if perauenture thei resten, for it is an hous terrynge to wraththe. And thei schulen wite, that a profete is in the myddis of hem.
And they whether they will listen and or they will refrain for [are] a house of rebellion they and they will know that a prophet he has been in midst of them.
6 Therfore thou, sone of man, drede not hem, nether drede thou the wordis of hem; for vnbileueful men and distrieris ben with thee, and thou dwellist with scorpiouns. Drede thou not the wordis of hem, and drede thou not the faces of hem, for it is an hous terrynge to wraththe.
And you O son of humankind may not you be afraid from them and from words their may not you be afraid for nettles and thorns with you and to scorpions you [are] dwelling from words their may not you be afraid and from faces their may not you be dismayed for [are] a house of rebellion they.
7 Therfor thou schalt speke my wordis to hem, if perauenture thei heren, and resten, for thei ben terreris to wraththe.
And you will speak words my to them whether they will listen and or they will refrain for [are] rebellious they.
8 But thou, sone of man, here what euer thingis Y schal speke to thee; and nyle thou be a terrere to wraththe, as the hows of Israel is a terrere to wraththe. Opene thi mouth, and ete what euer thingis Y yyue to thee.
And you O son of humankind hear [that] which I [am] speaking to you may not you be rebellious like [the] house of rebellion open mouth your and eat [that] which I [am] giving to you.
9 And Y siy, and lo! an hond was sent to me, in which a book was foldid togidere.
And I saw and there! a hand [was] stretched out to me and there! [was] in it a scroll of a document.
10 And he spredde abrood it bifor me, that was writun with ynne and with outforth. And lamentaciouns, and song, and wo, weren writun ther ynne.
And he spread out it before me and it [was] written face and back and [was] written to it lamentations and moaning and wailing.
