Ezekiel 10
1 And Y siy, and lo! in the firmament that was on the heed of cherubyns, as a saphir stoon, and as the fourme of licnesse of a kyngis seete apperide theron.
Je regardai, et voici, sur le ciel qui était au-dessus de la tête des chérubins, il y avait comme une pierre de saphir; on voyait au-dessus d’eux quelque chose de semblable à une forme de trône.
2 And he seide to the man that was clothid in lynnun clothis, and spak, Entre thou in the myddis of wheelis, that ben vndur cherubyns, and fille thin hond with coolis of fier, that ben bitwixe cherubyns, and schede thou out on the citee.
Et l’Éternel dit à l’homme vêtu de lin: Va entre les roues sous les chérubins, remplis tes mains de charbons ardents que tu prendras entre les chérubins, et répands-les sur la ville! Et il y alla devant mes yeux.
3 And he entride in my siyt; forsothe cherubyns stoden at the riyt side of the hous, whanne the man entride, and a clowde fillide the ynnere halle.
Les chérubins étaient à la droite de la maison, quand l’homme alla, et la nuée remplit le parvis intérieur.
4 And the glorie of the Lord was reisid fro aboue cherubyns to the threisfold of the hous; and the hous was fillid with a cloude, and the halle was fillid with schynyng of the glorie of the Lord.
La gloire de l’Éternel s’éleva de dessus les chérubins, et se dirigea vers le seuil de la maison; la maison fut remplie de la nuée, et le parvis fut rempli de la splendeur de la gloire de l’Éternel.
5 And the sown of wyngis of cherubyns was herd til to the outermere halle, as the vois of almyyti God spekynge.
Le bruit des ailes des chérubins se fit entendre jusqu’au parvis extérieur, pareil à la voix du Dieu tout-puissant lorsqu’il parle.
6 And whanne he hadde comaundid to the man that was clothid in lynnun clothis, and hadde seid, Take thou fier fro the myddis of the wheelis, that ben bitwixe cherubyns, he entride, and stood bisidis the wheel.
Ainsi l’Éternel donna cet ordre à l’homme vêtu de lin: Prends du feu entre les roues, entre les chérubins! Et cet homme alla se placer près des roues.
7 And cherub stretchide forth his hond fro the myddis of cherubyns, to the fier that was bitwixe cherubyns; and took, and yaf in to the hondis of hym that was clothid in lynnun clothis; and he took, and yede out.
Alors un chérubin étendit la main entre les chérubins vers le feu qui était entre les chérubins; il en prit, et le mit dans les mains de l’homme vêtu de lin. Et cet homme le prit, et sortit.
8 And the licnesse of the hond of a man apperide in cherubyns, vndur the wyngis of tho.
On voyait aux chérubins une forme de main d’homme sous leurs ailes.
9 And Y siy, and lo! foure wheelis weren bisidis cherubyns; o wheel bisidis o cherub, and another wheel bisidis another cherub; forsothe the licnesse of wheelis was as the siyt of the stoon crisolitis.
Je regardai, et voici, il y avait quatre roues près des chérubins, une roue près de chaque chérubin; et ces roues avaient l’aspect d’une pierre de chrysolithe.
10 And the biholdyng of tho was o licnesse of foure, as if a wheel be in the myddis of a wheel.
A leur aspect, toutes les quatre avaient la même forme; chaque roue paraissait être au milieu d’une autre roue.
11 And whanne tho yeden, tho yeden in to foure partis; tho turneden not ayen goynge, but to the place to which that that was the firste wheel bowide to go, also othere suyden, and turneden not ayen.
En cheminant, elles allaient de leurs quatre côtés, et elles ne se tournaient point dans leur marche; mais elles allaient dans la direction de la tête, sans se tourner dans leur marche.
12 And al the bodi of tho wheelis, and the neckis, and hondis, and wyngis of the beestis, and the cerclis, weren ful of iyen, in the cumpas of foure wheelis.
Tout le corps des chérubins, leur dos, leurs mains, et leurs ailes, étaient remplis d’yeux, aussi bien que les roues tout autour, les quatre roues.
13 And he clepide tho wheelis volible, ether able to go al aboute, in myn heryng.
J’entendis qu’on appelait les roues tourbillon.
14 Forsothe o beeste hadde foure faces; o face was the face of cherub, and the secounde face the face of a man, and in the thridde was the face of a lioun, and in the fourthe was the face of an egle;
Chacun avait quatre faces; la face du premier était une face de chérubin, la face du second une face d’homme, celle du troisième une face de lion, et celle du quatrième une face d’aigle.
15 and the cherubyns weren reisid. Thilke is the beeste, which Y hadde seyn bisidis the flood Chobar.
Et les chérubins s’élevèrent. C’étaient les animaux que j’avais vus près du fleuve du Kebar.
16 And whanne cherubyns yeden, also the wheelis bisidis tho yeden to gidere; whanne cherubyns reisiden her wyngis, that tho schulden be enhaunsid fro the erthe, the wheelis abididen not stille, but also tho weren bisidis cherubyns.
Quand les chérubins marchaient, les roues cheminaient à côté d’eux; et quand les chérubins déployaient leurs ailes pour s’élever de terre, les roues aussi ne se détournaient point d’eux.
17 The wheelis stooden with tho cherubyns stondynge, and weren reisid with the cherubyns reisid; for the spirit of lijf was in tho wheelis.
Quand ils s’arrêtaient, elles s’arrêtaient, et quand ils s’élevaient, elles s’élevaient avec eux, car l’esprit des animaux était en elles.
18 And the glorie of the Lord yede out fro the threisfold of the temple, and stood on the cherubyns.
La gloire de l’Éternel se retira du seuil de la maison, et se plaça sur les chérubins.
19 And cherubyns reisiden her wyngis, and weren enhaunsid fro the erthe bifore me; and whanne tho yeden out, also the wheelis sueden; and it stood in the entryng of the eest yate of the hous of the Lord, and the glorie of God of Israel was on tho.
Les chérubins déployèrent leurs ailes, et s’élevèrent de terre sous mes yeux quand ils partirent, accompagnés des roues. Ils s’arrêtèrent à l’entrée de la porte de la maison de l’Éternel vers l’orient; et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël était sur eux, en haut.
20 Thilke is the beeste, which Y siy vndur God of Israel, bisidis the flood Chobar. And Y vndurstood that foure cherubyns weren;
C’étaient les animaux que j’avais vus sous le Dieu d’Israël près du fleuve du Kebar, et je reconnus que c’étaient des chérubins.
21 foure faces weren to oon, and foure wyngys weren to oon; and the licnesse of the hond of a man was vndur the wyngis of tho.
Chacun avait quatre faces, chacun avait quatre ailes, et une forme de main d’homme était sous leurs ailes.
22 And the licnesse of the cheris of tho weren thilke cheeris whiche Y hadde seyn bisidis the flood Chobar; and the biholdyng of tho, and the fersnesse of ech, was to entre bifor his face.
Leurs faces étaient semblables à celles que j’avais vues près du fleuve du Kebar; c’était le même aspect, c’était eux-mêmes. Chacun marchait droit devant soi.
