Exodus 7
1 And the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y haue maad thee the god of Farao; and Aaron, thi brother, schal be thi prophete.
Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Vedi, io ti ho posto a far le veci di Dio per il faraone: Aronne, tuo fratello, sarà il tuo profeta.
2 Thou schalt speke to Aaron alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee, and he schal speke to Farao, that he delyuere the sones of Israel fro his hond.
Tu gli dirai quanto io ti ordinerò: Aronne, tuo fratello, parlerà al faraone perché lasci partire gli Israeliti dal suo paese.
3 But Y schal make hard his herte, and Y schal multiplie my signes and merueils in the lond of Egipt, and he schal not here you;
Ma io indurirò il cuore del faraone e moltiplicherò i miei segni e i miei prodigi nel paese d'Egitto.
4 and Y schal sende myn hond on Egipt, and Y schal lede out myn oost, and my puple, the sones of Israel, fro the lond of Egipt bi mooste domes;
Il faraone non vi ascolterà e io porrò la mano contro l'Egitto e farò così uscire dal paese d'Egitto le mie schiere, il mio popolo degli Israeliti, con l'intervento di grandi castighi.
5 and Egipcians schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, which haue holde forth myn hond on Egipt, and haue led out of the myddis of hem the sones of Israel.
Allora gli Egiziani sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando stenderò la mano contro l'Egitto e farò uscire di mezzo a loro gli Israeliti!».
6 And so Moises dide and Aaron; as the Lord comaundide, so thei diden.
Mosè e Aronne eseguirono quanto il Signore aveva loro comandato; operarono esattamente così.
7 Forsothe Moyses was of fourescoor yeer, and Aaron was of fourescoor yeer and thre, whanne thei spaken to Farao.
Mosè aveva ottant'anni e Aronne ottantatrè, quando parlarono al faraone.
8 And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron,
Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne:
9 Whanne Farao schal seie to you, Schewe ye signes to vs, thou schalt seie to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and caste forth it before Farao, and be it turned into a serpent.
«Quando il faraone vi chiederà: Fate un prodigio a vostro sostegno! tu dirai ad Aronne: Prendi il bastone e gettalo davanti al faraone e diventerà un serpente!».
10 And so Moises and Aaron entriden to Farao, and diden as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron took the yeerde, and castide forth bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which yerde was turned in to a serpent.
Mosè e Aronne vennero dunque dal faraone ed eseguirono quanto il Signore aveva loro comandato: Aronne gettò il bastone davanti al faraone e davanti ai suoi servi ed esso divenne un serpente.
11 Forsothe Farao clepide wise men, and witchis, and thei also diden bi enchauntementis of Egipt, and bi summe priuy thingis in lijk maner;
Allora il faraone convocò i sapienti e gli incantatori, e anche i maghi dell'Egitto, con le loro magie, operarono la stessa cosa.
12 and alle castiden forth her yerdis, whiche weren turned in to dragouns; but the yerde of Aaron deuouride `the yerdis of hem.
Gettarono ciascuno il suo bastone e i bastoni divennero serpenti. Ma il bastone di Aronne inghiottì i loro bastoni.
13 And the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
Però il cuore del faraone si ostinò e non diede loro ascolto, secondo quanto aveva predetto il Signore.
14 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moyses, The herte of Farao is maad greuouse, he nyle delyuere the puple;
Poi il Signore disse a Mosè: «Il cuore del faraone è irremovibile: si è rifiutato di lasciar partire il popolo.
15 go thou to hym eerli; lo! he schal go out to the watris, and thou schalt stonde in the comyng of hym on the brynke of the flood; and thou schalt take in thin honde the yerde, that was turned into a dragoun,
Và dal faraone al mattino quando uscirà verso le acque. Tu starai davanti a lui sulla riva del Nilo, tenendo in mano il bastone che si è cambiato in serpente.
16 and thou schalt seie to hym, The Lord God of Ebrews sente me to thee, and seide, Delyuere thou my puple, that it make sacrifice to me in desert; til to present time thou noldist here.
Gli riferirai: Il Signore, il Dio degli Ebrei, mi ha inviato a dirti: Lascia partire il mio popolo, perché possa servirmi nel deserto; ma tu finora non hai obbedito.
17 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, In this thou schalt wite, that Y am the Lord; lo! Y schal smyte with the yerde, which is in myn hond, the watir of the flood, and it schal be turned in to blood;
Dice il Signore: Da questo fatto saprai che io sono il Signore; ecco, con il bastone che ho in mano io batto un colpo sulle acque che sono nel Nilo: esse si muteranno in sangue.
18 and the fischis that ben in the flood schulen die; and the watris schulen wexe rotun, and Egipcians drynkynge the watir of the flood schulen be turmentid.
I pesci che sono nel Nilo moriranno e il Nilo ne diventerà fetido, così che gli Egiziani non potranno più bere le acque del Nilo!».
19 Also the Lord seide to Moises, Seie thou to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and holde forth thin hond on the watris of Egipt, and on the flodis of hem, and on the stremys `of hem, and on the mareis, and alle lakis of watris, that tho be turned in to blood; and blood be in al the lond of Egipt, as wel in vessils of tree as of stoon.
Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Comanda ad Aronne: Prendi il tuo bastone e stendi la mano sulle acque degli Egiziani, sui loro fiumi, canali, stagni, e su tutte le loro raccolte di acqua; diventino sangue, e ci sia sangue in tutto il paese d'Egitto, perfino nei recipienti di legno e di pietra!».
20 And Moises and Aaron diden so, as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron reiside the yerde, and smoot the watir of the flood bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which watir was turned in to blood;
Mosè e Aronne eseguirono quanto aveva ordinato il Signore: Aronne alzò il bastone e percosse le acque che erano nel Nilo sotto gli occhi del faraone e dei suoi servi. Tutte le acque che erano nel Nilo si mutarono in sangue.
21 and fischis, that weren in the flood, dieden; and the flood was rotun, and Egipcians myyten not drynke the water of the flood; and blood was in al the lond of Egipt.
I pesci che erano nel Nilo morirono e il Nilo ne divenne fetido, così che gli Egiziani non poterono più berne le acque. Vi fu sangue in tutto il paese d'Egitto.
22 And the witchis of Egipcians diden in lijk maner by her enchauntementis; and the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
Ma i maghi dell'Egitto, con le loro magie, operarono la stessa cosa. Il cuore del faraone si ostinò e non diede loro ascolto, secondo quanto aveva predetto il Signore.
23 And he turnede awei hym silf, and entride in to his hows, nethir he took it to herte, yhe, in this tyme.
Il faraone voltò le spalle e rientrò nella sua casa e non tenne conto neppure di questo fatto.
24 Forsothe alle Egipcians diggiden watir `bi the cumpas of the flood, to drinke; for thei myyten not drynke of the `watir of the flood.
Tutti gli Egiziani scavarono allora nei dintorni del Nilo per attingervi acqua da bere, perché non potevano bere le acque del Nilo.
25 And seuene daies weren fillid, aftir that the Lord smoot the flood.
Sette giorni trascorsero dopo che il Signore aveva colpito il Nilo.
