Exodus 7
1 And the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y haue maad thee the god of Farao; and Aaron, thi brother, schal be thi prophete.
Yahweh dit à Moïse: " Vois, j'ai fait de toi un dieu pour Pharaon, et Aaron, ton frère, sera ton prophète.
2 Thou schalt speke to Aaron alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee, and he schal speke to Farao, that he delyuere the sones of Israel fro his hond.
Toi, tu diras tout ce que je te commanderai, et Aaron, ton frère, parlera à Pharaon, pour qu'il laisse partir de son pays les enfants d'Israël.
3 But Y schal make hard his herte, and Y schal multiplie my signes and merueils in the lond of Egipt, and he schal not here you;
Et moi, j'endurcirai le cœur de Pharaon, et je multiplierai mes signes et mes prodiges dans le pays d'Egypte.
4 and Y schal sende myn hond on Egipt, and Y schal lede out myn oost, and my puple, the sones of Israel, fro the lond of Egipt bi mooste domes;
Pharaon ne vous écoutera pas et je mettrai ma main sur l'Egypte, et je ferai sortir du pays d'Egypte mes armées, mon peuple, les enfants d'Israël, par de grands jugements.
5 and Egipcians schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, which haue holde forth myn hond on Egipt, and haue led out of the myddis of hem the sones of Israel.
Les Egyptiens connaîtront que je suis Yahweh, lorsque j'étendrai ma main sur l'Egypte et que je ferai sortir du milieu d'eux les enfants d'Israël. "
6 And so Moises dide and Aaron; as the Lord comaundide, so thei diden.
Moïse et Aaron firent ce que Yahweh leur avait ordonné; ainsi firent-ils.
7 Forsothe Moyses was of fourescoor yeer, and Aaron was of fourescoor yeer and thre, whanne thei spaken to Farao.
Moïse était âgé de quatre-vingts ans, et Aaron de quatre-vingt-trois ans, lorsqu'ils parlèrent à Pharaon.
8 And the Lord seide to Moises and to Aaron,
Yahweh dit à Moïse et à Aaron:
9 Whanne Farao schal seie to you, Schewe ye signes to vs, thou schalt seie to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and caste forth it before Farao, and be it turned into a serpent.
" Lorsque Pharaon vous parlera, en disant: Faites un miracle, tu diras à Aaron: Prends ton bâton et jette-le devant Pharaon; il deviendra un serpent. "
10 And so Moises and Aaron entriden to Farao, and diden as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron took the yeerde, and castide forth bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which yerde was turned in to a serpent.
Moïse et Aaron allèrent auprès de Pharaon, et ils firent ce que Yahweh avait ordonné. Aaron jeta son bâton devant Pharaon et devant ses serviteurs, et il devint un serpent.
11 Forsothe Farao clepide wise men, and witchis, and thei also diden bi enchauntementis of Egipt, and bi summe priuy thingis in lijk maner;
Pharaon aussi appela ses sages et ses enchanteurs; et les magiciens d'Egypte, eux aussi, firent la même chose par leurs enchantements:
12 and alle castiden forth her yerdis, whiche weren turned in to dragouns; but the yerde of Aaron deuouride `the yerdis of hem.
ils jetèrent chacun leur bâton, et ces bâtons devinrent des serpents. Mais le bâton d'Aaron engloutit leurs bâtons.
13 And the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
Et le cœur de Pharaon s'endurcit, et il n'écouta point Moïse et Aaron, selon que Yahweh l'avait dit.
14 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moyses, The herte of Farao is maad greuouse, he nyle delyuere the puple;
Yahweh dit à Moïse: " Le cœur de Pharaon est endurci; il refuse de laisser aller le peuple.
15 go thou to hym eerli; lo! he schal go out to the watris, and thou schalt stonde in the comyng of hym on the brynke of the flood; and thou schalt take in thin honde the yerde, that was turned into a dragoun,
Va vers Pharaon dès le matin; voici qu'il sortira pour aller au bord de l'eau, et tu te tiendras pour l'attendre sur la rive du fleuve. Tu prendras en main le bâton qui a été changé en serpent,
16 and thou schalt seie to hym, The Lord God of Ebrews sente me to thee, and seide, Delyuere thou my puple, that it make sacrifice to me in desert; til to present time thou noldist here.
et tu lui diras: Yahweh, Dieu des Hébreux, m'a envoyé vers toi pour te dire: Laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu'il me serve dans le désert. Et voici, jusqu'à présent tu n'as point écouté.
17 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, In this thou schalt wite, that Y am the Lord; lo! Y schal smyte with the yerde, which is in myn hond, the watir of the flood, and it schal be turned in to blood;
Ainsi dit Yahweh: A ceci tu connaîtras que je suis Yahweh: je vais frapper les eaux du fleuve avec le bâton qui est dans ma main, et elles seront changées en sang.
18 and the fischis that ben in the flood schulen die; and the watris schulen wexe rotun, and Egipcians drynkynge the watir of the flood schulen be turmentid.
Les poissons qui sont dans le fleuve mourront, le fleuve deviendra infect, et les Egyptiens répugneront à boire de l'eau du fleuve. "
19 Also the Lord seide to Moises, Seie thou to Aaron, Take thi yerde, and holde forth thin hond on the watris of Egipt, and on the flodis of hem, and on the stremys `of hem, and on the mareis, and alle lakis of watris, that tho be turned in to blood; and blood be in al the lond of Egipt, as wel in vessils of tree as of stoon.
Yahweh dit à Moïse: " Dis à Aaron: Prends ton bâton et étends ta main sur les eaux de l'Egypte, sur ses rivières, sur ses canaux, sur ses étangs et sur tous ses réservoirs d'eau. Elles deviendront du sang, et il y aura du sang dans tout le pays d'Egypte, dans les vases de bois comme dans les vases de pierre. "
20 And Moises and Aaron diden so, as the Lord comaundide; and Aaron reiside the yerde, and smoot the watir of the flood bifore Farao and hise seruauntis, which watir was turned in to blood;
Moïse et Aaron firent ce que Yahweh avait ordonné. Aaron, levant le bâton, frappa les eaux qui étaient dans le fleuve, sous les yeux de Pharaon et sous les yeux de ses serviteurs, et toutes les eaux du fleuve furent changées en sang.
21 and fischis, that weren in the flood, dieden; and the flood was rotun, and Egipcians myyten not drynke the water of the flood; and blood was in al the lond of Egipt.
Les poissons qui étaient dans le fleuve moururent, le fleuve devint infect, les Egyptiens ne pouvaient plus boire de l'eau du fleuve, et il y eut du sang dans tout le pays d'Egypte.
22 And the witchis of Egipcians diden in lijk maner by her enchauntementis; and the herte of Farao was maad hard, and he herde not hem, as the Lord comaundide.
Mais les magiciens d'Egypte firent la même chose par leurs enchantements, et le cœur de Pharaon s'endurcit, et il n'écouta point Moïse et Aaron, selon que Yahweh l'avait dit.
23 And he turnede awei hym silf, and entride in to his hows, nethir he took it to herte, yhe, in this tyme.
Pharaon s'en retourna et, étant entré dans sa maison, il n'appliqua point son cœur à ces choses.
24 Forsothe alle Egipcians diggiden watir `bi the cumpas of the flood, to drinke; for thei myyten not drynke of the `watir of the flood.
Tous les Egyptiens creusèrent aux environs du fleuve pour trouver de l'eau potable, car ils ne pouvaient boire de l'eau du fleuve.
25 And seuene daies weren fillid, aftir that the Lord smoot the flood.
Il s'écoula sept jours, après que Yahweh eut frappé le fleuve.
