Exodus 33
1 And the Lord spak to Moyses, and seide, Go and stie fro this place, thou, and the puple, whom thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt, in to the lond, which Y haue swore to Abraham, and to Ysaac, and to Jacob, `and Y seide, Y schal yyue it to thi seed.
Und Jehova redete zu Mose: Gehe, ziehe hinauf von hinnen, du und das Volk, das du aus dem Lande Ägypten heraufgeführt hast, in das Land, das ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob zugeschworen habe, indem ich sprach: Deinem Samen werde ich es geben! -
2 And Y schal sende thi bifore goere an aungel, that Y caste out Cananey, and Amorei, and Ethei, and Ferezei, and Euey, and Jebusey;
und ich werde einen Engel vor dir hersenden und vertreiben die Kanaaniter, die Amoriter und die Hethiter und die Perisiter, die Hewiter und die Jebusiter, -
3 and that thou entre in to the lond flowynge with mylk and hony; for Y schal not stye with thee, for `thou art a puple of hard nol, lest perauenture Y leese thee in the weie.
in ein Land, das von Milch und Honig fließt; denn ich werde nicht in deiner Mitte hinaufziehen, denn du bist ein hartnäckiges Volk, daß ich dich nicht vernichte auf dem Wege.
4 The puple herde this worste word, and morenyde, and noon was clothid with his ournyng bi custom.
Und als das Volk dieses böse Wort hörte, da trauerten sie, und keiner legte seinen Schmuck an.
5 And the Lord seide to Moises, Spek thou to the sones of Israel, Thou art a puple of hard nol; onys Y schal stie in the myddis of thee, and Y schal do awey thee; riyt now putte awei thin ournyng, that Y wite, what Y schal do to thee.
Denn Jehova hatte zu Mose gesagt: Sprich zu den Kindern Israel: Ihr seid ein hartnäckiges Volk; zöge ich nur einen Augenblick in deiner Mitte hinauf, so würde ich dich vernichten. Und nun, lege deinen Schmuck von dir, und ich werde wissen, was ich dir tun will.
6 Therfor the sones of Israel puttiden awey her ournyng fro the hil of Oreb.
Und die Kinder Israel rissen sich ihren Schmuck ab an dem Berge Horeb. [Eig. von dem Berge Horeb an]
7 And Moises took the tabernacle, and settide fer with out the castels, and he clepide the name therof the tabernacle of boond of pees. And al the puple that hadde ony questioun, yede out to the tabernacle of boond of pees, with out the castels.
Und Mose nahm das Zelt und schlug es sich auf außerhalb des Lagers, fern vom Lager, und nannte es: Zelt der Zusammenkunft. Und es geschah, ein jeder, der Jehova suchte, ging hinaus zu dem Zelte der Zusammenkunft, das außerhalb des Lagers war.
8 And whanne Moises yede out to the tabernacle, al the puple roos, and ech man stood in the dore of his tente, and thei bihelden `the bak of Moises, til he entride in to the tente.
Und es geschah, wenn Mose zu dem Zelte hinausging, so erhob sich das ganze Volk, und sie standen, ein jeder am Eingang seines Zeltes; und sie schauten Mose nach, bis er in das Zelt trat.
9 Sotheli whanne he entride in to the tabernacle of boond of pees, a piler of cloude cam doun, and stood at the dore; and the Lord spak with Moises,
Und es geschah, wenn Mose in das Zelt trat, so stieg die Wolkensäule hernieder und stand am Eingang des Zeltes; und Jehova [W. er] redete mit Mose.
10 while alle men sien that the piler of cloude stood at the `dore of tabernacle; and thei stoden, and worschipiden bi the dores of her tabernaclis.
Und das ganze Volk sah die Wolkensäule am Eingang des Zeltes stehen; und das ganze Volk erhob sich, und sie warfen sich nieder, ein jeder am Eingang seines Zeltes.
11 Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises face to face, as a man is wont to speke to his freend; and whanne he turnede ayen in to `the castels, Josue, his mynystre, the sone of Nun, a child, yede not awey fro the tabernacle.
Und Jehova redete mit Mose von Angesicht zu Angesicht, wie ein Mann mit seinem Freunde redet; und er kehrte zum Lager zurück. Sein Diener aber, Josua, der Sohn Nuns, ein Jüngling, wich nicht aus dem Innern des Zeltes.
12 Forsothe Moises seide to the Lord, Thou comaundist, that Y lede out this puple, and thou `schewist not to me, whom thou schalt sende with me, `most sithen thou seidist, Y knewe thee bi name, and thou hast founde grace bifore me.
Und Mose sprach zu Jehova: Siehe, du sprichst zu mir: Führe dieses Volk hinauf, aber du hast mich nicht wissen lassen, wen du mit mir senden willst. Und du hast doch gesagt: Ich kenne dich mit Namen, und du hast auch Gnade gefunden in meinen Augen.
13 Therfore if Y haue founde grace in thi siyt, schewe thi face to me, that Y knowe thee, and fynde grace bifor thin iyen; biholde thi puple, and this folk.
Und nun, wenn ich denn Gnade gefunden habe in deinen Augen, so laß mich doch deinen Weg [W. deine Wege] wissen, daß ich dich erkenne, damit ich Gnade finde in deinen Augen; und sieh, daß diese Nation dein Volk ist!
14 And God seide, My face schal go bifor thee, and Y schal yyue reste to thee.
Und er sprach: Mein Angesicht wird mitgehen, und ich werde dir Ruhe geben.
15 And Moises seide, If thi silf schalt not go bifore, `lede not vs out of this place;
Und er sprach zu ihm: Wenn dein Angesicht nicht mitgeht, so führe uns nicht hinauf von hinnen.
16 for in what thing moun we wite, Y and thi puple, that we han founde grace in thi siyt, if thou schalt not go with vs, that we be glorified of alle puplis that dwellen on erthe?
Und woran soll es denn erkannt werden, daß ich Gnade gefunden habe in deinen Augen, ich und dein Volk? Nicht daran, daß du mit uns gehst und wir ausgesondert werden, ich und dein Volk, aus jedem Volke, das auf dem Erdboden ist?
17 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Y schal do also this word, which thou hast spoke; for thou hast founde grace bifor me, and Y knewe thi silf bi name.
Und Jehova sprach zu Mose: Auch dieses, was du gesagt hast, werde ich tun; denn du hast Gnade gefunden in meinen Augen, und ich kenne dich mit Namen.
18 And Moises seide, Schewe thou thi glorie to me.
Und er sprach: Laß mich doch deine Herrlichkeit sehen!
19 God answeride, Y schal schewe al good to thee, and Y schal clepe in the `name of the Lord bifor thee, and Y schal do merci to whom Y wole, and Y schal be merciful on whom it plesith to me.
Und Jehova [W. er] sprach: Ich werde alle meine Güte vor deinem Angesicht vorübergehen lassen und werde den Namen Jehovas vor dir ausrufen; und ich werde begnadigen, wen ich begnadigen werde, und werde mich erbarmen, wessen ich mich erbarmen werde.
20 And eft God seide, Thou maist not se my face, for a man schal not se me, and schal lyue.
Und er sprach: Du vermagst nicht mein Angesicht zu sehen, denn nicht kann ein Mensch mich sehen und leben.
21 And eft God seide, A place is anentis me, and thou schalt stonde on a stoon;
Und Jehova sprach: Siehe, es ist ein Ort bei mir, da sollst du auf dem Felsen stehen.
22 and whanne my glorie schal passe, Y schal sette thee in the hoole of the stoon, and Y schal kyuere with my riyt hond, til Y passe; and Y schal take awey myn hond,
Und es wird geschehen, wenn meine Herrlichkeit vorübergeht, so werde ich dich in die Felsenkluft stellen und meine Hand über dich decken, bis ich vorübergegangen bin.
23 and thou schalt se myn hyndrere partis, forsothe thou mayst not se my face.
Und ich werde meine Hand hinwegtun, und du wirst mich von hinten sehen; aber mein Angesicht soll nicht gesehen werden.
