Exodus 32
1 Forsothe the puple siy, that Moises made tariyng to come doun fro the hil, and it was gaderid ayens Aaron, and seide, Rise thou, and make goddis to vs, that schulen go bifore vs, for we witen not what bifelde to this Moises, that ladde vs out of the lond of Egipt.
Då folket såg, att Mose fördröjde komma neder af bergena, församlade de sig emot Aaron, och sade till honom: Upp, och gör oss gudar, de som gå före oss; ty vi vete icke hvad dessom manne Mose vederfaret är, den oss fört hafver utur Egypti land.
2 And Aaron seide to hem, Take ye the goldun eere ryngis fro the eeris of youre wyues, and of sones and douytris, and brynge ye to me.
Aaron sade till dem: Rifver de gyldene örnaringar utur edra hustrurs öron, edra söners och edra döttrars, och bärer dem till mig.
3 The puple dide tho thingis, that he comaundide, and brouyte eere ryngis to Aaron;
Då ref allt folket deras gyldene örnaringar utu deras öron, och båro dem till Aaron.
4 and whanne he hadde take tho, he formede bi `werk of yetyng, and made of tho a yotun calf. And thei seiden, Israel, these ben thi goddis, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt.
Och han tog dem af deras händer, och utkastade det med en grafstickel, och gjorde en gjuten kalf. Och de sade: Desse äro dine gudar, Israel, som dig utur Egypti land fört hafva.
5 And whanne Aaron had seyn this thing, he bildide an auter bifore hym, and he criede bi the vois of a criere, and seide, To morewe is the solempnete of the Lord.
Då Aaron såg det, byggde han ett altare för honom, och lät utropa, och säga: I morgon är Herrans högtid.
6 And thei rysen eerli, and offeriden brent sacrifyces, and pesible sacrifices; and the puple sat to ete and drynke, and thei risen to pley.
Och de stodo om morgonen bittida upp, och offrade bränneoffer, och båro fram tackoffer. Sedan satte sig folket till att äta och dricka, och stodo upp till att leka.
7 Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Go thou, go doun, thi puple hath synned, `whom thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt.
Då sade Herren till Mose: Gack, stig ned; ty ditt folk, som du utur Egypti land fört hafver, hafver förderfvat det.
8 Thei yeden awei soone fro the weie which thou schewidst to hem, and thei maden to hem a yotun calf, and worschipyden it, and thei offeriden sacrifices to it, and seiden, Israel, these ben thi goddis, that ledden thee out of the lond of Egipt.
De äro snarliga trädde ifrå de vägar, som jag dem budit hafver. De hafva gjort sig en gjuten kalf; och hafva tillbedit honom, och offrat honom och sagt: Desse äro dina gudar, Israel, som dig hafva fört utur Egypti land.
9 And eft the Lord seide to Moises, Y se, that this puple is of hard nol;
Och Herren sade till Mose: Jag ser, att det är ett hårdnackadt folk.
10 suffre thou me, that my woodnesse be wrooth ayens hem, and that Y do awey hem; and Y schal make thee in to a greet folk.
Och nu låt mig, att min vrede förgrymmar sig öfver dem, och uppfräter dem, så vill jag göra dig till ett stort folk.
11 Forsothe Moises preiede `his Lord God, and seide, Lord, whi is thi veniaunce wrooth ayens thi puple, whom thou leddist out of the lond of Egipt in greet strengthe and in stronge hond?
Men Mose bad allvarliga inför Herran sin Gud, och sade: Ack! Herre, hvi vill din vrede förgrymma sig öfver ditt folk, det du med stora magt och väldiga hand utur Egypti land fört hafver?
12 Y biseche, that Egipcians seie not, he ledde hem out felli, `that he schulde sle in the hillis, and to do awei fro erthe, thin ire ceesse, and be thou quemeful on the wickidnesse of thi puple.
Hvi skulle de Egyptier tala, och säga: Han hafver fört dem ut till deras ofärd, på det han skulle dräpa dem i bergomen, och utskrapa dem af jordene? Vänd dig ifrå dine vredes grymhet, och var nådelig öfver dins folks ondsko.
13 Haue thou mynde of Abraham, of Ysaac, and of Israel, thi seruauntis, to whiche thou hast swore bi thi silf, and seidist, Y schal multiplie youre seed as the sterris of heuene, and Y schal yyue to youre seed al this lond of which Y spak, and ye schulen welde it euere.
Tänk uppå dina tjenare Abraham, Isaac och Israel, hvilkom du vid dig sjelf svorit hafver, och sagt dem: Jag skall föröka edra säd, såsom stjernorna i himlenom; och allt det landet, der jag om talat hafver, vill jag gifva edro säd, och de skola besitta det evinnerliga.
14 And the Lord was plesid, that he dide not the yuel which he spak ayens his puple.
Så ångrade då Herren det onda, som han hotade att göra sino folke.
15 And Moises turnede ayen fro the hil, and bar in his hond twei tablis of witnessyng, writun in euer either side,
Mose vände sig, och steg ned af bergena, och hade två vittnesbördsens taflor i sine hand; de voro skrifna på båda sidor.
16 and maad bi the werk of God; and the writyng of God was grauun in tablis.
Och Gud hade sjelf gjort dem, och sjelf skrifvit skriftena deruti.
17 Forsothe Josue herde the noise of the puple criynge, and seide to Moyses, Yellyng of fiytyng is herd in the castels.
Då nu Josua hörde folkens skri, att de jubilerade, sade han till Mose: Ett krigsskriande är i lägret.
18 To whom Moises answeride, It is not cry of men exitynge to batel, nether the cry of men compellynge to fleyng, but Y here the vois of syngeris.
Svarade han: Det är icke ett skriande såsom af dem der vinna eller tappa; utan jag hörer ett skriande af qvädedansar.
19 And whanne he hadde neiyid to the castels, he siy the calf, and dauncis; and he was wrooth greetli, and `castide forth the tablis fro the hond, and brak tho at the rootis of the hil.
Som han nu kom intill lägret, och fick se kalfven, och dansen, förgrymmade han sig i vrede, och kastade taflorna utu sine hand, och slog dem sönder nedanför bergena;
20 And he took the calf, which thei hadden maad, and brente, and brak `til to poudur, which he spreynte in to watir, and yaf therof drynke to the sones of Israel.
Och tog kalfven, som de gjort hade, och brände honom upp i eld, och gjorde honom till pulfver, och strödde det i vatten, och gaf det Israels barnom till att dricka;
21 And Moises seide to Aaron, What dide this puple to thee, that thou brouytist in on hym the gretteste synne?
Och sade till Aaron: Hvad hafver folket gjort dig, att du hafver kommit dem en så stor synd uppå?
22 To whom he answeride, My lord, be not wrooth, for thou knowist this puple, that it is enclynaunt to yuel;
Aaron sade: Min herre låte sina vrede icke förgrymma sig; du vetst att detta folket är ondt.
23 thei seiden to me, Make thou goddis to vs, that schulen go bifore vs, for we witen not, what bifelde to this Moises, that ladde vs out of the lond of Egipt.
De sade till mig: Gör oss gudar, som oss föregå; ty vi vete icke huru denna mannenom Mose går, den oss fört hafver utur Egypti land.
24 To whiche Y seide, Who of you hath gold? Thei token, and yauen to me, and Y castide it forth in to the fier, and this calf yede out.
Jag sade till dem: Den som guld hafver, han rifve det af, och få mig; och jag kastade det i eld, deraf är denne kalfven vorden.
25 Therfor Moyses siy the puple, that it was maad bare; for Aaron hadde spuylid it for the schenschip of filthe, and hadde maad the puple nakid among enemyes.
Då nu Mose såg, att folket var fritt (ty Aaron hade gjort dem fri, och dermed han dem förhöja ville, kom han dem på skam),
26 And Moises stood in the yate of the castels, and seide, If ony man is of the Lord, be he ioyned to me; and alle the sones of Leuy weren gaderid to hym.
Trädde han in i porten åt lägrena, och sade: Kommer hit till mig hvar och en, som Herranom tillhörer. Då församlade sig till honom alle Levi barn.
27 To whiche he seide, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, A man putte swerd on his hipe, go ye, and `go ye ayen fro yate `til to yate bi the myddil of the castels, and ech man sle his brother, freend, and neiybore.
Och han sade till dem: Detta säger Herren Israels Gud: Binde hvar och en sitt svärd på sina länder; och går igenom lägret fram och åter, ifrå den ena porten till den andra, och dräpe hvar och en sin broder, frända och nästa.
28 The sones of Leuy diden bi the word of Moises, and as thre and twenti thousynd of men felden doun in that day.
Levi barn gjorde såsom Mose dem sade. Och föll i den dagen af folkena vid tretusend män.
29 And Moises seide, Ye han halewid youre hondis to dai to the Lord, ech man in his sone, and brother, that blessyng be youun to you.
Då sade Mose: Fyller i dag edra händer Herranom, hvar och en på sin son och broder, att i dag må öfver eder välsignelse gifven varda.
30 Sotheli whanne `the tother day was maad, Moises spak to the puple, Ye han synned the moost synne; Y schal stie to the Lord, if in ony maner Y schal mowe biseche hym for youre felony.
Om morgonen derefter sade Mose till folket: I hafven gjort en stor synd. Nu, jag vill uppstiga till Herran, om jag tilläfventyrs kan försona edra synder.
31 And he turnede ayen to the Lord, and seide, Lord, Y biseche, this puple hath synned a greet synne, and thei han maad goldun goddis to hem; ethir foryyue thou this gilt to hem,
Som nu Mose åter kom till Herran, sade han: Ack! detta folket hafver gjort en stor synd, och hafva gjort sig gyldene gudar.
32 ether if thou doist not, do awey me fro thi book, which thou hast write.
Nu förlåt dem deras synd; hvar icke, så skrapa mig ock utu dine bok, som du skrifvit hafver.
33 To whom the Lord answeride, Y schal do awey fro my book hym that synneth ayens me;
Herren sade till Mose: Huru? Den vill jag utskrapa utu mine bok, som syndar emot mig.
34 forsothe go thou, and lede this puple, whydur Y spak to thee; myn aungel schal go bifore thee; forsothe in the day of veniaunce Y schal visite also this synne of hem.
Så gack nu, och för folket dit, som jag hafver sagt dig; si, min Ängel skall gå före dig. Men på min sökningsdag skall jag söka deras synder öfver dem.
35 Therfor the Lord smoot the puple for the gilt of the calf, which calf Aaron made.
Alltså plågade Herren folket, derföre att de hade gjort kalfven, hvilken Aaron gjorde.
