Exodus 30
1 Also thou schalt make an auter of the trees of Sechym, to brenne encense;
| ועשית מזבח מקטר קטרת עצי שטים תעשה אתו |
2 and the auter schal haue a cubit of lengthe, and another cubit of brede, that is foure cornerid, and twei cubitis in heiythe; corneris schulen come forth of the auter.
| אמה ארכו ואמה רחבו רבוע יהיה ואמתים קמתו ממנו קרנתיו |
3 And thou schalt clothe it with clennest gold, as wel the gridil therof, as the wallis and corneris bi cumpas therof; and thou schalt make to the auter a litil goldun coroun,
| וצפית אתו זהב טהור את גגו ואת קירתיו סביב--ואת קרנתיו ועשית לו זר זהב סביב |
4 `bi cumpas, and twei goldun serclis vndur the coroun by alle sidis, that barris be put in to the serclis, and the auter be borun.
| ושתי טבעת זהב תעשה לו מתחת לזרו על שתי צלעתיו--תעשה על שני צדיו והיה לבתים לבדים לשאת אתו בהמה |
5 Also thou schalt make tho barris of the trees of Sechym, and thou schalt ouergilde;
| ועשית את הבדים עצי שטים וצפית אתם זהב |
6 and thou schalt sette the auter ayens the veil, which veil hangith bifor the ark of witnessyng bifor the propiciatorie, bi which the witnessyng is hilid, where Y schal speke to thee.
| ונתתה אתו לפני הפרכת אשר על ארן העדת--לפני הכפרת אשר על העדת אשר אועד לך שמה |
7 And Aaron schal brenne theronne encense smellynge swetly eerli; whanne he schal araye the lanternes, he schal brenne it;
| והקטיר עליו אהרן קטרת סמים בבקר בבקר בהיטיבו את הנרת--יקטירנה |
8 and whanne he settith the lanternes at euentid, he schal brenne euerlastynge encense bifor the Lord, in to youre generaciouns.
| ובהעלת אהרן את הנרת בין הערבים יקטירנה--קטרת תמיד לפני יהוה לדרתיכם |
9 Ye schulen not offre theronne encense of other makyng, nethir offryng, and slayn sacrifice, nether ye schulen offre fletynge offryngis thereonne.
| לא תעלו עליו קטרת זרה ועלה ומנחה ונסך לא תסכו עליו |
10 And Aaron schal preie on the corneres therof onis bi the yeer, in the blood which is offrid for synne, and he schal plese theronne in youre generaciouns; it schal be the hooli of hooli thingis to the Lord.
| וכפר אהרן על קרנתיו אחת בשנה מדם חטאת הכפרים אחת בשנה יכפר עליו לדרתיכם--קדש קדשים הוא ליהוה |
11 And the Lord spak to Moises,
| וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר |
12 and seide, Whanne thou schalt take the summe of the sones of Israel, alle bi hem silf schulen yyue `bi the noumbre prijs for her soulis to the Lord, and veniaunce schal not be in hem, whanne thei ben noumbrid.
| כי תשא את ראש בני ישראל לפקדיהם ונתנו איש כפר נפשו ליהוה בפקד אתם ולא יהיה בהם נגף בפקד אתם |
13 Sotheli ech that passith to the name, schal yyue this, half a sicle bi the mesure of the temple; a sicle hath twenti halpens; the myddil part of a cicle schal be offrid to the Lord.
| זה יתנו כל העבר על הפקדים--מחצית השקל בשקל הקדש עשרים גרה השקל--מחצית השקל תרומה ליהוה |
14 He that is hadde in noumbre, fro twenti yeer and aboue,
| כל העבר על הפקדים מבן עשרים שנה ומעלה--יתן תרומת יהוה |
15 schal yyue prijs; a riche man schal not adde to the myddil of cicle, and a pore man schal no thing abate.
| העשיר לא ירבה והדל לא ימעיט ממחצית השקל--לתת את תרומת יהוה לכפר על נפשתיכם |
16 And thou schalt bitake in to vsis of the tabernacle of witnessyng the money takun, which is gaderid of the sones of Israel, that it be the mynde of hem bifor the Lord, and he schal be merciful to `the soulis of hem.
| ולקחת את כסף הכפרים מאת בני ישראל ונתת אתו על עבדת אהל מועד והיה לבני ישראל לזכרון לפני יהוה לכפר על נפשתיכם |
17 And the Lord spak to Moises,
| וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר |
18 and seide, Also thou schalt make a greet vessil of bras with his foundement to waische, and thou schalt sette it bitwixe the tabernacle of witnessyng and the auter `of brent sacrifices; and whanne watir is put therynne,
| ועשית כיור נחשת וכנו נחשת--לרחצה ונתת אתו בין אהל מועד ובין המזבח ונתת שמה מים |
19 Aaron and hise sones schulen waische therynne her hondis and feet,
| ורחצו אהרן ובניו ממנו את ידיהם ואת רגליהם |
20 whanne thei schulen entre in to the tabernacle of witnessyng, and whanne thei schulen neiye to the auter that thei offre therynne encense to the Lord,
| בבאם אל אהל מועד ירחצו מים--ולא ימתו או בגשתם אל המזבח לשרת להקטיר אשה ליהוה |
21 lest perauenture thei dien; it schal be a lawful thing euerlastinge to hym and to his seed bi successiouns.
| ורחצו ידיהם ורגליהם ולא ימתו והיתה להם חק עולם לו ולזרעו לדרתם |
22 And the Lord spak to Moises,
| וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר |
23 and seide, Take to thee swete smellynge spiceries, of the firste and chosun myrre, fyue hundrid siclis; and of canel the half, that is, twei hundrid and fifti siclis;
| ואתה קח לך בשמים ראש מר דרור חמש מאות וקנמן בשם מחציתו חמשים ומאתים וקנה בשם חמשים ומאתים |
24 in lijk maner of calamy twei hundrid and fifti siclis; also of casia fyue hundrid siclis, in the weiyte of seyntuarie; oile of olyue trees, the mesure hyn;
| וקדה חמש מאות בשקל הקדש ושמן זית הין |
25 and thou schalt make the hooly oile of anoyntyng, an oynement maad bi the werk of a `makere of oynement.
| ועשית אתו שמן משחת קדש--רקח מרקחת מעשה רקח שמן משחת קדש יהיה |
26 And thou schal anoynte therof the tabernacle of witnessyng, and the ark of testament, and the boord with hise vessels,
| ומשחת בו את אהל מועד ואת ארון העדת |
27 the candilstike, and the purtenaunces therof, the auteris of encense,
| ואת השלחן ואת כל כליו ואת המנרה ואת כליה ואת מזבח הקטרת |
28 and of brent sacrifice, and al the purtenaunce, that perteyneth to the ournyng of tho.
| ואת מזבח העלה ואת כל כליו ואת הכיר ואת כנו |
29 And thou schalt halewe alle thingis, and tho schulen be the hooli of holi thingis; he that schal touche tho, schal be halewid.
| וקדשת אתם והיו קדש קדשים כל הנגע בהם יקדש |
30 Thou schalt anoynte Aaron, and hise sones, and thou schalt halewe hem, that thei be set in presthod to me.
| ואת אהרן ואת בניו תמשח וקדשת אתם לכהן לי |
31 And thou schalt seie to the sones of Israel, This oile of anoyntyng schal be hooli to me in to youre generaciouns.
| ואל בני ישראל תדבר לאמר שמן משחת קדש יהיה זה לי--לדרתיכם |
32 The fleisch of man schal not be anoyntid therof, and bi the makyng therof ye schulen not make another, for it is halewid, and it schal be hooli to you.
| על בשר אדם לא ייסך ובמתכנתו לא תעשו כמהו קדש הוא קדש יהיה לכם |
33 What euer man makith sich oile, and yyueth therof to an alien, he schal be `destried fro his puple.
| איש אשר ירקח כמהו ואשר יתן ממנו על זר--ונכרת מעמיו |
34 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Take to thee swete smellynge spyceries, stacten, and onyca, galban of good odour, and pureste encense, alle schulen be of euene weiyte.
| ויאמר יהוה אל משה קח לך סמים נטף ושחלת וחלבנה סמים ולבנה זכה בד בבד יהיה |
35 And thou schal make encence, maad by werk of oynement makere, meddlid diligentli, and pure, and moost worthi of halewyng.
| ועשית אתה קטרת רקח מעשה רוקח ממלח טהור קדש |
36 And whanne thou hast powned alle thingis in to smalleste poudre, thou schalt putte therof bifor the tabernacle of witnessyng, in which place Y schal appere to thee; encense schal be to you the hooli of hooli thingis.
| ושחקת ממנה הדק ונתתה ממנה לפני העדת באהל מועד אשר אועד לך שמה קדש קדשים תהיה לכם |
37 Ye schulen not make siche a makyng in to youre vsis, for it is hooli to the Lord.
| והקטרת אשר תעשה--במתכנתה לא תעשו לכם קדש תהיה לך ליהוה |
38 What euer man makith a lijk thing, that he vse the odour therof, he schal perische fro his puple.
| איש אשר יעשה כמוה להריח בה--ונכרת מעמיו |
