Exodus 23
1 Thou schalt not resseyue a vois of leesyng, nether thou schalt ioyne thin hond, that thou seie fals witnessyng for a wickid man.
Să nu ridici vorbire falsă; nu da mâna ta cu cel stricat pentru a fi martor nedrept.
2 Thou schalt not sue the cumpanye to do yuel, nether thou schalt ascente to the sentence of ful many men in doom, that thou go awey fro treuthe.
Să nu urmezi o mulțime pentru a face rău; nici nu vorbi într-o cauză abătându-te după mulți ca să strâmbi judecata,
3 Also thou schalt not haue mercy of a pore man in a `cause, ethir doom.
Nici nu favoriza un om sărac în cauza lui.
4 If thou meetist `the oxe of thin enemye, ethir the asse errynge, lede thou ayen to hym.
Dacă întâlnești boul dușmanului tău sau măgarul lui rătăcind, adu-l negreșit înapoi la el.
5 If thou seest that the asse of hym that hatith thee liggyth vndir a burthun, thou schalt not passe, but thou schalt reise with hym.
Dacă vezi măgarul celui ce te urăște zăcând sub sarcina lui și te-ai feri să îl ajuți, ajută negreșit împreună cu el.
6 Thou schalt not bowe in the doom of a pore man.
Să nu strâmbi judecata săracului tău în cauza lui.
7 Thou schalt fle a lesyng. Thou schalt not sle an innocent man, and iust; for Y am aduersarie to a wickid man.
Ține-te departe de orice lucru fals; și pe cel nevinovat și pe cel drept nu îl ucide, pentru că nu voi declara drept pe cel stricat.
8 Take thou not yiftis, that blynden also prudent men, and destryen the wordys of iust men.
Și nu lua niciun dar, pentru că darul orbește pe cel înțelept și pervertește cuvintele celui drept.
9 Thou schalt not be diseseful to a pilgrym, for ye knowen the soulis of comelyngis, for also ye weren pilgryms in the lond of Egipt.
De asemenea să nu oprimi pe străin, căci voi știți inima unui străin, întrucât și voi ați fost străini în țara Egiptului.
10 Sixe yeer thou schalt sowe thi lond, and thou schalt gadre fruytis therof;
Și șase ani să îți semeni pământul și să îi aduni roadele;
11 forsothe in the seuenthe yeer thou schalt leeue it, and schalt make to reste, that the pore men of thi puple ete, and what euer is residue, the beestis of the feeld ete; so thou schalt do in thi vyner, and in place of olyue trees.
Dar al șaptelea an lasă-l să se odihnească și să stea nelucrat; ca săracii poporului tău să mănânce; și ce lasă ei, animalele câmpului să mănânce. În același fel să faci cu via ta și cu livada ta de măslini.
12 Sixe dayes thou schalt worche, in the seuenthe dai thou schalt ceesse, that thin oxe and asse reste, and the sone of thin handmaide, and the comelyng be refreischid.
Fă lucrarea ta șase zile și în a șaptea zi odihnește-te, ca boul tău și măgarul tău să se poată odihni, și fiul roabei tale și străinul să fie înviorați.
13 Kepe ye alle thingis, whiche Y seide to you; and ye schulen not swere bi the name of alien goddis, nether it schal be herd of youre mouth.
Și în toate lucrurile pe care vi le-am spus fiți chibzuiți; și nu amintiți numele altor dumnezei, nici să nu fie auzite acestea din gura voastră.
14 In thre tymes bi alle yeeris ye schulen halewe feestis to me.
De trei ori pe an ține-mi o sărbătoare.
15 Thou schalt kepe the solempnyte of therf looues; seuene daies thou schalt ete therf breed, as Y comaundide to thee, in the tyme of monethe of newe thingis, whanne thou yedist out of Egipt; thou schalt not appere voide in my siyt.
Ține sărbătoarea azimelor (să mănânci azimă șapte zile, așa cum ți-am poruncit, în timpul rânduit al lunii Abib; căci în această lună ai ieșit din Egipt; și nimeni să nu se arate înaintea mea cu mâna goală);
16 And thou schalt kepe the solempnete of the monethe of the firste thingis of thi werk, what euer thingis thou hast sowe in the feeld. Also thou schalt kepe the solempnyte in the goyng out of the yeer, whanne thou hast gaderid all thi fruytis of the feeld.
Și sărbătoarea secerișului, primele roade ale ostenelilor tale, pe care le-ai semănat în câmp; și sărbătoarea culesului, care este la sfârșitul anului, după ce ai adunat ostenelile tale din câmp.
17 Thries in the yeer al thi male kynde schal appere bifore thi Lord God.
De trei ori pe an toți cei de parte bărbătească să se prezinte înaintea Domnului DUMNEZEU.
18 Thou schalt not offre the blood of thi slayn sacrifice on sour douy; nether the fatnesse of my solempnete schal dwelle til to the morewtid.
Să nu oferi sângele sacrificiului meu cu pâine dospită; nici grăsimea sacrificiului meu să nu rămână până dimineața.
19 Thou schalt bere the firste thingis of the fruytis of thi lond in to the hows of thi Lord God. Thou schalt not sethe a kide in the mylke of his modir.
Primul dintre primele roade ale pământului tău, să-l aduci în casa DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău. Să nu fierbi un ied în laptele mamei lui.
20 Lo! Y schal sende myn aungel, that schal go bifore thee, and schal kepe in the weie, and schal lede to the place which Y haue maad redi to thee.
Iată, trimit un Înger înaintea ta, pentru a te ține pe cale și pentru a te aduce în locul pe care l-am pregătit.
21 Take thou hede to hym, and here thou his vois, nether gesse thou hym to be dispisid; for he schal not foryyue, whanne thou synnest, and my name is in him.
Ia seama la el și ascultă de vocea lui; nu îl provoca, fiindcă el nu va ierta fărădelegile voastre, pentru că numele meu este în el.
22 For if thou herest his vois, and doist alle thingis whiche Y speke, Y schal be enemy to thin enemyes, and Y schal turment hem, that turmenten thee;
Dar dacă într-adevăr vei asculta de vocea lui și vei face tot ceea ce eu voi spune, atunci voi fi dușman dușmanilor tăi și potrivnic potrivnicilor tăi.
23 and myn aungel schal go bifore thee, and he schal lede yn thee to Amorrei, and Ethei, and Ferezei, and Cananey, and Euey, and Jebusei, whiche Y schal breke.
Pentru că Îngerul meu va merge înaintea ta și te va duce în țara amoriților și hitiților și periziților și canaaniților, hiviților și iebusiților, și îi voi stârpi.
24 Thou schalt not onoure `the goddis of hem, nether thou schalt worschipe hem; thou schalt not do the werkis of hem, but thou schalt destrie the goddis, and thou schalt breke the ymagis of hem.
Să nu te prosterni înaintea dumnezeilor lor, nici să nu le servești, nici să nu faci conform lucrării lor, ci dărâmă-i complet și sparge idolii lor în întregime.
25 And ye schulen serue to youre Lord God, that Y blesse thi looues, and watris, and do awei sikenesse fro the myddis of thee;
Și veți servi DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru și el va binecuvânta pâinea ta și apa ta; și voi înlătura boala din mijlocul tău.
26 neithir a womman vnfruytful, neither bareyn, schal be in thi lond; Y schal fille the noumbre of thi daies.
Nimic nu își va lepăda pruncii, nici nu vor fi sterpe în țara ta; numărul zilelor tale îl voi împlini.
27 Y schal sende my drede in to thi biforgoyng, and Y schal sle al the puple, to which thou schalt entre, and Y schal turne the backis of alle thin enemyes bifore thee;
Voi trimite frica mea înaintea ta și voi nimici toate popoarele la care vei ajunge și voi face pe toți dușmanii tăi să își întoarcă spatele spre tine.
28 and Y schal sende out bifore scrabrouns, that schulen dryue awei Euey, and Cananey, and Ethei, bifore that thou entre.
Și voi trimite viespi înaintea ta, care vor alunga pe hivit, pe canaanit și pe hitit, de dinaintea ta.
29 Y schal not caste hem out fro thi face in o yeer, lest the lond be turned in to wildirnesse, and beestis encreesse ayens thee;
Nu îi voi alunga de dinaintea ta într-un an, ca nu cumva țara să devină pustie și fiarele câmpului să se înmulțească împotriva ta.
30 litil and litil I schal caste hem out fro thi siyt, til thou be encreessid, and welde the loond.
Puțin câte puțin îi voi alunga de dinaintea ta, până când te vei fi înmulțit și vei moșteni pământul.
31 Forsothe Y schal sette thi termys fro the reed see til to the see of Palestyns, and fro desert til to the flood. Y schal yyue to youre hondis the dwelleris of the lond, and Y schal caste hem out fro youre siyt;
Și voi așeza granițele tale de la Marea Roșie până la marea filistenilor și de la deșert până la râu, căci voi preda pe locuitorii acelui pământ în mâna voastră, ca să îi alungi de dinaintea ta.
32 thou schalt not make boond of pees with hem, nethir with `the goddis of hem.
Nu fă legământ cu ei, nici cu dumnezeii lor.
33 Dwelle thei not in thi lond, lest perauenture thei make thee to do synne ayens me, yf thou seruest her goddis, which thing certis schal be to thee in to sclaundir.
Nu vor locui în țara ta, ca nu cumva să te facă să păcătuiești împotriva mea; căci dacă servești dumnezeii lor, cu adevărat aceasta va fi o cursă pentru tine.
