Exodus 23
1 Thou schalt not resseyue a vois of leesyng, nether thou schalt ioyne thin hond, that thou seie fals witnessyng for a wickid man.
૧“તમારે જૂઠી અફવા માનવી નહિ, કે ફેલાવવી નહિ. દુર્જનને સાથ આપીને ખોટી સાક્ષી પૂરવી નહિ.
2 Thou schalt not sue the cumpanye to do yuel, nether thou schalt ascente to the sentence of ful many men in doom, that thou go awey fro treuthe.
૨બહુમતીથી દોરવાઈને તમારે ખોટું કામ કરવું નહિ, તેમ જ ન્યાયલયમાં સાક્ષી આપતી વખતે ન્યાયના ભોગે બહુમતીનો પક્ષ લેવો નહિ.
3 Also thou schalt not haue mercy of a pore man in a `cause, ethir doom.
૩માણસ ગરીબ હોય તો તેની ગરીબીના કારણે ન્યાયાલયમાં તેના પ્રત્યે પક્ષપાત ન રાખવો. જો તે સાચો હોય તો એનો જ પક્ષ લેવો.”
4 If thou meetist `the oxe of thin enemye, ethir the asse errynge, lede thou ayen to hym.
૪તમારા શત્રુનો બળદ કે ગધેડો નાસી જતો નજરે પડે તો તમારે તેના માલિકને ત્યાં પાછો પહોંચાડવો.
5 If thou seest that the asse of hym that hatith thee liggyth vndir a burthun, thou schalt not passe, but thou schalt reise with hym.
૫જો તમે તમારા દુશ્મનના ગધેડાને ભારથી ચગદાઈને પડેલો જુઓ, તો તેને એ જ હાલતમાં છોડીને ચાલ્યા જશો નહિ, તમારે સહાય આપીને તેને બેઠો કરવો પછી જ તેને છૂટો કરવો.
6 Thou schalt not bowe in the doom of a pore man.
૬તમારે ગરીબ માણસને તેની ન્યાયપ્રક્રિયામાં અન્યાય ન કરવો.
7 Thou schalt fle a lesyng. Thou schalt not sle an innocent man, and iust; for Y am aduersarie to a wickid man.
૭જૂઠા આક્ષેપો કરવા નહિ, નિર્દોષ અને ન્યાયીને મૃત્યુની સજા કરવી નહિ. નિર્દોષ માણસને મારી નાખનાર ખરાબ માણસને હું નિર્દોષ નહિ માનું.
8 Take thou not yiftis, that blynden also prudent men, and destryen the wordys of iust men.
૮તમારે કદીય લાંચ લેવી નહિ. કારણ કે લાંચ દેખતાને અંધ બનાવે છે. તેથી તેઓ સત્ય જોઈ શકતા નથી. તે સારા માણસને ખોટું બોલતા કરે છે.
9 Thou schalt not be diseseful to a pilgrym, for ye knowen the soulis of comelyngis, for also ye weren pilgryms in the lond of Egipt.
૯તમારે વિદેશી લોકો પર ત્રાસ ગુજારવો નહિ, તમે લોકો મિસરમાં વિદેશી હતા, એટલે તમે વિદેશીઓની લાગણીને સમજો છો.
10 Sixe yeer thou schalt sowe thi lond, and thou schalt gadre fruytis therof;
૧૦છ વર્ષ પર્યંત તમારે ખેતરમાં વાવેતર કરવું અને તેની ઊપજ એકત્રિત કરવી.
11 forsothe in the seuenthe yeer thou schalt leeue it, and schalt make to reste, that the pore men of thi puple ete, and what euer is residue, the beestis of the feeld ete; so thou schalt do in thi vyner, and in place of olyue trees.
૧૧પણ સાતમે વર્ષે તમારે કશુંય વાવવું નહિ અને જમીન પડતર રહેવા દેવી. જમીનને એક વર્ષ આરામ કરવા દેવો. વાવ્યા વગર જે કંઈ ઊગે તેને તે વર્ષે ગરીબોને લેવા દેવું અને તેમાં વધેલું વનના પશુઓને ખાઈ જવા દેવું. વળી તમારે તમારી દ્રાક્ષવાડી અને જૈતૂનની વાડીમાં પણ આ પ્રમાણે કરવું.
12 Sixe dayes thou schalt worche, in the seuenthe dai thou schalt ceesse, that thin oxe and asse reste, and the sone of thin handmaide, and the comelyng be refreischid.
૧૨તમારે છ દિવસ કામ કરવું પણ સાતમે દિવસે વિશ્રામ કરવો, જેથી તમારા બળદને અને ગધેડાને પણ આરામ મળે. અને તમારા ઘરમાં કામ કરતા દાસ-દાસી અને પરદેશી પણ વિશ્રામ પામીને તાજગી અનુભવે.
13 Kepe ye alle thingis, whiche Y seide to you; and ye schulen not swere bi the name of alien goddis, nether it schal be herd of youre mouth.
૧૩મેં તમને જે બધું કહ્યું છે તેનું ધ્યાન રાખજો. અન્ય દેવોની પૂજા કરશો નહિ. તથા તમારા મુખથી તેઓનું નામ સાંભળવા મળવું જોઈએ નહિ.
14 In thre tymes bi alle yeeris ye schulen halewe feestis to me.
૧૪“પ્રતિવર્ષ તમારે મારાં ત્રણ પર્વો પાળવાં અને ઊજવવાં. અને મારી ઉપાસના કરવી.
15 Thou schalt kepe the solempnyte of therf looues; seuene daies thou schalt ete therf breed, as Y comaundide to thee, in the tyme of monethe of newe thingis, whanne thou yedist out of Egipt; thou schalt not appere voide in my siyt.
૧૫આબીબ મહિનામાં બેખમીરી રોટલીનું પર્વ પાળવું. તે વખતે સાત દિવસ સુધી મારી આજ્ઞા મુજબ તમારે બેખમીરી રોટલી ખાવી. કારણ કે, એ માસમાં તમે મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા હતા અને કોઈએ ખાલી હાથે મારી પાસે આવવું નહિ.”
16 And thou schalt kepe the solempnete of the monethe of the firste thingis of thi werk, what euer thingis thou hast sowe in the feeld. Also thou schalt kepe the solempnyte in the goyng out of the yeer, whanne thou hast gaderid all thi fruytis of the feeld.
૧૬બીજું કાપણીનું પર્વ છે. તે પાળવું. ઉનાળાંમાં તમે ખેતરમાં જે વાવેતર કર્યુ હોય તેની પ્રથમ ઊપજ પ્રાપ્ત થાય ત્યારે ખેતરમાંથી ઉપજ ભેગી કરો એ સમયે તે પર્વ પાળવું.
17 Thries in the yeer al thi male kynde schal appere bifore thi Lord God.
૧૭પ્રતિવર્ષ ત્રણ વખત તમારામાંના પ્રત્યેક પુરુષે મારી ખાસ જગ્યાએ, મારી સાથે તમારા માલિક સાથે હાજર રહેવું.
18 Thou schalt not offre the blood of thi slayn sacrifice on sour douy; nether the fatnesse of my solempnete schal dwelle til to the morewtid.
૧૮તમારે મારા બલિદાનનું રક્ત ખમીરવાળી રોટલી સાથે ધરાવવું નહિ તેમ જ પર્વની ચરબી સવાર સુધી રાખી મૂકવી નહિ.
19 Thou schalt bere the firste thingis of the fruytis of thi lond in to the hows of thi Lord God. Thou schalt not sethe a kide in the mylke of his modir.
૧૯તમારી જમીનની પ્રથમ ઊપજનો ઉત્તમોત્તમ ભાગ તમારે તમારા યહોવાહના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં લાવવો. વળી લવારાને તેની માતાના દૂધમાં રાંધવું નહિ.
20 Lo! Y schal sende myn aungel, that schal go bifore thee, and schal kepe in the weie, and schal lede to the place which Y haue maad redi to thee.
૨૦અને તમારા માટે મેં જે જગ્યા તૈયાર કરી છે ત્યાં તમને લઈ જવા માટે હવે હું તમારી આગળ એક દૂત મોકલું છું તે રસ્તામાં તમારું રક્ષણ કરશે.
21 Take thou hede to hym, and here thou his vois, nether gesse thou hym to be dispisid; for he schal not foryyue, whanne thou synnest, and my name is in him.
૨૧તમે લોકો તેનાથી જાળવીને રહેજો અને તેનું કહ્યું કરજો. તેની વિરુદ્ધ બળવો કરશો નહિ, તે તમારો ગુનો માફ કરશે નહિ. કારણ કે મારું નામ તેનામાં છે.
22 For if thou herest his vois, and doist alle thingis whiche Y speke, Y schal be enemy to thin enemyes, and Y schal turment hem, that turmenten thee;
૨૨પરંતુ જો તમે તેની આજ્ઞાઓનું પાલન કરશો અને હું જે કહું તે બધું કરશો, તો હું તમારી સાથે રહીશ અને તમારા શત્રુઓ સાથે લડીશ. અને તમને હેરાન અને ત્રાસ કરનારને હું સજા આપીશ.
23 and myn aungel schal go bifore thee, and he schal lede yn thee to Amorrei, and Ethei, and Ferezei, and Cananey, and Euey, and Jebusei, whiche Y schal breke.
૨૩કારણ કે, મારો દૂત તમારી આગળ આગળ ચાલશે. અને તમને અમોરીઓ, હિત્તીઓ, પરીઝીઓ, કનાનીઓ, હિવ્વીઓ અને યબૂસીઓના પ્રદેશમાં લઈ જશે. અને હું તેઓનો સર્વનાશ કરીશ.
24 Thou schalt not onoure `the goddis of hem, nether thou schalt worschipe hem; thou schalt not do the werkis of hem, but thou schalt destrie the goddis, and thou schalt breke the ymagis of hem.
૨૪તમારે તે લોકોના દેવોની પૂજા કરવી નહિ, તેમની આગળ નમવું નહિ. તમારે તે લોકોની જેમ રહેવાનું નથી; તમારે તેઓની મૂર્તિઓને નષ્ટ કરવાની છે. અને તે લોકોના સ્તંભોને ભાગીને ભુક્કા કરી નાખવાના છે.
25 And ye schulen serue to youre Lord God, that Y blesse thi looues, and watris, and do awei sikenesse fro the myddis of thee;
૨૫વળી તમારે તમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહની જ સેવા કરવાની છે અને હું તમારાં અન્ન-જળ પર આશીર્વાદ વરસાવીશ. અને તમારા તમામ રોગો હું દૂર કરીશ.
26 neithir a womman vnfruytful, neither bareyn, schal be in thi lond; Y schal fille the noumbre of thi daies.
૨૬તમારા દેશમાં કોઈ પણ સ્ત્રીને ગર્ભપાત થશે નહિ તથા કોઈ સ્ત્રી નિ: સંતાન પણ હશે નહિ; હું તમને લોકોને પૂરેપૂરું આયુષ્ય આપીશ.
27 Y schal sende my drede in to thi biforgoyng, and Y schal sle al the puple, to which thou schalt entre, and Y schal turne the backis of alle thin enemyes bifore thee;
૨૭તમે જ્યારે દુશ્મનો સાથે લડતા હશો, ત્યારે હું મારું સામર્થ્ય તમારી સામે મોકલીશ અને તે બધાને હું થથરાવી દઈશ. તથા તમારા બધા જ દુશ્મનો તમારાથી ગભરાઈને જતા રહે એવું હું કરીશ.
28 and Y schal sende out bifore scrabrouns, that schulen dryue awei Euey, and Cananey, and Ethei, bifore that thou entre.
૨૮તદુપરાંત હું તમારી આગળ ભમરીઓને મોકલીશ, તે હિવ્વી, કનાની તથા હિત્તી લોકોને તમારી આગળથી નસાડી મૂકશે.
29 Y schal not caste hem out fro thi face in o yeer, lest the lond be turned in to wildirnesse, and beestis encreesse ayens thee;
૨૯હું એક જ વર્ષમાં એ બધાને કાઢી મૂકીશ નહિ, રખેને બધી જમીન વેરાન થઈ જાય અને જગંલમાં વનચર જાનવરોની સંખ્યા વધી જતાં તમે બધા મુશ્કેલીમાં મુકાઈ જાઓ.
30 litil and litil I schal caste hem out fro thi siyt, til thou be encreessid, and welde the loond.
૩૦તમારી સંખ્યાનો એટલો બધો વધારો થાય અને તમે સમગ્ર દેશનો કબજો લઈ શકો ત્યાં સુધીમાં તો હું તેમને ધીરે ધીરે નસાડી મૂકીશ.
31 Forsothe Y schal sette thi termys fro the reed see til to the see of Palestyns, and fro desert til to the flood. Y schal yyue to youre hondis the dwelleris of the lond, and Y schal caste hem out fro youre siyt;
૩૧હું રાતા સમુદ્રથી પલિસ્તીઓના સમુદ્ર સુધી તમારી સરહદ નક્કી કરી આપીશ. એ દેશના વતનીઓને હું તમારા હાથમાં સોંપી દઈશ અને તમે તેઓને તમારી આગળથી નસાડી મૂકશો.
32 thou schalt not make boond of pees with hem, nethir with `the goddis of hem.
૩૨તમે તેઓની સાથે કે તેઓના દેવો સાથે કોઈ સંબંધ બાંધશો નહિ, કે કરારો કરશો નહિ.
33 Dwelle thei not in thi lond, lest perauenture thei make thee to do synne ayens me, yf thou seruest her goddis, which thing certis schal be to thee in to sclaundir.
૩૩તેઓ તમારા દેશમાં વસે નહિ, રખેને તેઓ તમારી પાસે મારી વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કરાવે. કેમ કે જો તમે તેઓના દેવોની સેવા કરશો તો તેઓ તમારે માટે ફાંદારૂપ થઈ પડશે.
