Exodus 22
1 If ony man stelith a scheep, ether oxe, and sleeth, ether sillith, he schal restore fiue oxen for oon oxe, and foure scheep for o scheep.
१“यदि कोई मनुष्य बैल, या भेड़, या बकरी चुराकर उसका घात करे या बेच डाले, तो वह बैल के बदले पाँच बैल, और भेड़-बकरी के बदले चार भेड़-बकरी भर दे।
2 And if a nyyt theef brekynge an hows, ether vndurmynynge, is foundun, and is deed bi a wounde takun, the smytere schal not be gilti of blood;
२यदि चोर सेंध लगाते हुए पकड़ा जाए, और उस पर ऐसी मार पड़े कि वह मर जाए, तो उसके खून का दोष न लगे;
3 that if he dide this whanne the sunne was rysun, he dide man sleyng, and he schal die. If a theef hath not that, that he schal yelde for thefte, he schal be seeld;
३यदि सूर्य निकल चुके, तो उसके खून का दोष लगे; अवश्य है कि वह हानि को भर दे, और यदि उसके पास कुछ न हो, तो वह चोरी के कारण बेच दिया जाए।
4 if that thing that he staal, is foundun quyk at hym, ether oxe, ether asse, ether scheep, he schal restore the double.
४यदि चुराया हुआ बैल, या गदहा, या भेड़ या बकरी उसके हाथ में जीवित पाई जाए, तो वह उसका दूना भर दे।
5 If a man harmeth a feeld, ethir vyner, and suffrith his beeste, that it waaste othere mennus thingis, he schal restore for the valu of harm, `what euer beste thing he hath in his feeld, ethir vyner.
५“यदि कोई अपने पशु से किसी का खेत या दाख की बारी चराए, अर्थात् अपने पशु को ऐसा छोड़ दे कि वह पराए खेत को चर ले, तो वह अपने खेत की और अपनी दाख की बारी की उत्तम से उत्तम उपज में से उस हानि को भर दे।
6 If fier goith out, and fyndith eeris of corn, and catchith heepis of corn, ethir cornes stondynge in feeldis, he that kyndlide the fier schal yeelde the harm.
६“यदि कोई आग जलाए, और वह काँटों में लग जाए और फूलों के ढेर या अनाज या खड़ा खेत जल जाए, तो जिसने आग जलाई हो वह हानि को निश्चय भर दे।
7 If a man bitakith in to kepyng monei to a freend, ether a vessel `in to keping, and it is takun awey bi thefte fro hym that resseyuede, if the theef is foundun, he schal restore the double.
७“यदि कोई दूसरे को रुपये या सामग्री की धरोहर धरे, और वह उसके घर से चुराई जाए, तो यदि चोर पकड़ा जाए, तो दूना उसी को भर देना पड़ेगा।
8 If the theef is hid, the lord of the hows schal be brouyt to goddis, `that is, iugis, and he schal swere, that he helde not forth the hond in to `the thing of his neiybore,
८और यदि चोर न पकड़ा जाए, तो घर का स्वामी परमेश्वर के पास लाया जाए कि निश्चय हो जाए कि उसने अपने भाई-बन्धु की सम्पत्ति पर हाथ लगाया है या नहीं।
9 to `do fraude; as wel in oxe, as in asse, and in scheep, and in clooth; and what euer thing may brynge in harm, the cause of euer eithir schal come to goddis, and if thei demen, he schal restore the double to his neiybore.
९चाहे बैल, चाहे गदहे, चाहे भेड़ या बकरी, चाहे वस्त्र, चाहे किसी प्रकार की ऐसी खोई हुई वस्तु के विषय अपराध क्यों न लगाया जाए, जिसे दो जन अपनी-अपनी कहते हों, तो दोनों का मुकद्दमा परमेश्वर के पास आए; और जिसको परमेश्वर दोषी ठहराए वह दूसरे को दूना भर दे।
10 If ony man bitakith to his neiybore oxe, asse, scheep, and al werk beeste to kepyng, and it is deed, ether is maad feble, ethir is takun of enemyes, and no man seeth this,
१०“यदि कोई दूसरे को गदहा या बैल या भेड़-बकरी या कोई और पशु रखने के लिये सौंपे, और किसी के बिना देखे वह मर जाए, या चोट खाए, या हाँक दिया जाए,
11 an ooth schal be in the myddis, that he helde not forth the hond to the `thing of his neiybore; and the lord schal resseyue the ooth, and he schal not be compellid to yelde.
११तो उन दोनों के बीच यहोवा की शपथ खिलाई जाए, ‘मैंने इसकी सम्पत्ति पर हाथ नहीं लगाया;’ तब सम्पत्ति का स्वामी इसको सच माने, और दूसरे को उसे कुछ भी भर देना न होगा।
12 That if it is takun awei bi thefte, he schal restore the harm to the lord;
१२यदि वह सचमुच उसके यहाँ से चुराया गया हो, तो वह उसके स्वामी को उसे भर दे।
13 if it is etun of a beeste, he schal brynge to the lord that that is slayn, and he schal not restore.
१३और यदि वह फाड़ डाला गया हो, तो वह फाड़े हुए को प्रमाण के लिये ले आए, तब उसे उसको भी भर देना न पड़ेगा।
14 He that axith of his neiybore ony thing of these bi borewyng, and it is feblid, ether deed, while the lord is not present, he schal be constreyned to yelde; that if the lord is in presence,
१४“फिर यदि कोई दूसरे से पशु माँग लाए, और उसके स्वामी के संग न रहते उसको चोट लगे या वह मर जाए, तो वह निश्चय उसकी हानि भर दे।
15 he schal not restore, moost if it cam hirid, for the meede of his werk.
१५यदि उसका स्वामी संग हो, तो दूसरे को उसकी हानि भरना न पड़े; और यदि वह भाड़े का हो तो उसकी हानि उसके भाड़े में आ गई।
16 If a man disseyueth a virgyn not yit weddid, and slepith with hir, he schal yyue dower to hir, and schal haue hir wijf.
१६“यदि कोई पुरुष किसी कन्या को जिसके ब्याह की बात न लगी हो फुसलाकर उसके संग कुकर्म करे, तो वह निश्चय उसका मोल देकर उसे ब्याह ले।
17 If the fadir of the virgyn nyle yyue, he schal yelde money, bi the maner of dower, which virgyns weren wont to take.
१७परन्तु यदि उसका पिता उसे देने को बिल्कुल इन्कार करे, तो कुकर्म करनेवाला कन्याओं के मोल की रीति के अनुसार रुपये तौल दे।
18 Thou schalt not suffre witchis to lyue.
१८“तू जादू-टोना करनेवाली को जीवित रहने न देना।
19 He that doith letcherie with a beeste, die by deeth.
१९“जो कोई पशुगमन करे वह निश्चय मार डाला जाए।
20 He that offrith to goddis, out takun to the Lord aloone, be he slayn.
२०“जो कोई यहोवा को छोड़ किसी और देवता के लिये बलि करे वह सत्यानाश किया जाए।
21 Thou schalt not make sory a comelyng, nether thou schalt turmente hym; for also ye weren comelyngis in the lond of Egipt.
२१“तुम परदेशी को न सताना और न उस पर अंधेर करना क्योंकि मिस्र देश में तुम भी परदेशी थे।
22 Ye schulen not anoye a widewe, and a fadirles ethir modirles child.
२२किसी विधवा या अनाथ बालक को दुःख न देना।
23 If ye hirten hem, thei schulen crye to me, and Y schal here the cry of hem,
२३यदि तुम ऐसों को किसी प्रकार का दुःख दो, और वे कुछ भी मेरी दुहाई दें, तो मैं निश्चय उनकी दुहाई सुनूँगा;
24 and my greet veniaunce schal haue indignacioun, and Y schal smyte you with swerd, and youre wyues schulen be widewis, and youre sones schulen be fadirles.
२४तब मेरा क्रोध भड़केगा, और मैं तुम को तलवार से मरवाऊँगा, और तुम्हारी पत्नियाँ विधवा और तुम्हारे बालक अनाथ हो जाएँगे।
25 If thou yyuest money to loone to my pore puple, that dwellith with thee, thou schalt not constreyne hym, as an extorsioner doith, nether thou schalt oppresse hym by vsuris.
२५“यदि तू मेरी प्रजा में से किसी दीन को जो तेरे पास रहता हो रुपये का ऋण दे, तो उससे महाजन के समान ब्याज न लेना।
26 If thou takist of thi neiybore `a wed a clooth, thou schalt yelde to hym bifore the goyng doun of the sunne;
२६यदि तू कभी अपने भाई-बन्धु के वस्त्र को बन्धक करके रख भी ले, तो सूर्य के अस्त होने तक उसको लौटा देना;
27 for that aloone is the cloothing of his fleisch, with which he is hilid, nether he hath another, in which he slepith; if he crieth to me, Y schal here hym; for Y am mercyful.
२७क्योंकि वह उसका एक ही ओढ़ना है, उसकी देह का वही अकेला वस्त्र होगा; फिर वह किसे ओढ़कर सोएगा? और जब वह मेरी दुहाई देगा तब मैं उसकी सुनूँगा, क्योंकि मैं तो करुणामय हूँ।
28 Thou schalt not bacbyte goddis, and thou schalt not curse the prince of thi puple.
२८“परमेश्वर को श्राप न देना, और न अपने लोगों के प्रधान को श्राप देना।
29 Thou schalt not tarye to offre to the Lord thi tithis, and firste fruytis. Thou schalt yyue to me the firste gendrid of thi sones;
२९“अपने खेतों की उपज और फलों के रस में से कुछ मुझे देने में विलम्ब न करना। अपने बेटों में से पहलौठे को मुझे देना।
30 also of oxen, and of scheep thou schalt do in lijk maner; seuene daies be he with his modir, in the eiytithe dai thou schalt yelde hym to me.
३०वैसे ही अपनी गायों और भेड़-बकरियों के पहलौठे भी देना; सात दिन तक तो बच्चा अपनी माता के संग रहे, और आठवें दिन तू उसे मुझे दे देना।
31 Ye schulen be holi men to me; ye schulen not ete fleisch which is bifore taastid of beestis, but ye schulen caste forth to houndis.
३१“तुम मेरे लिये पवित्र मनुष्य बनना; इस कारण जो पशु मैदान में फाड़ा हुआ पड़ा मिले उसका माँस न खाना, उसको कुत्तों के आगे फेंक देना।
