Exodus 16
1 And thei yeden forth fro Helym, and al the multitude of the sones of Israel cam in to deseert of Syn, which is bitwixe Helym and Synai, in the fiftenethe dai of the secunde monethe aftir that thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt.
Eles fizeram sua viagem desde Elim, e toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel veio para o deserto de Sinai, que fica entre Elim e Sinai, no décimo quinto dia do segundo mês após sua partida da terra do Egito.
2 And al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel grutchide ayens Moises, and ayens Aaron, in the wildirnesse.
Toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel murmurou contra Moisés e contra Arão no deserto;
3 And the sones of Israel seiden to hem, We wolden that we hadden be deed bi the `hoond of the Lord in the lond of Egipt, whanne we saten on the `pottis of fleisch, and eeten looues in plentee; whi leden ye vs in to this deseert, that ye schulden sle al the multitude with hungur?
e os filhos de Israel disseram-lhes: “Desejamos ter morrido pela mão de Javé na terra do Egito, quando nos sentamos junto às panelas de carne, quando comemos nossa fartura de pão, pois vocês nos trouxeram a este deserto para matar toda esta assembléia de fome”.
4 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y schal reyne to you looues fro heuene; the puple go out, that it gadere tho thingis that sufficen bi ech day; that Y asaie the puple, whethir it goith in my lawe, ether nai.
Então Javé disse a Moisés: “Eis que choverei pão do céu por ti, e o povo sairá e recolherá a porção de um dia todos os dias, para que eu possa testá-los, quer andem ou não na minha lei”.
5 Sotheli in the sixte dai make thei redi that that thei schulen bere yn, and be it double ouer that thei weren wont to gadere bi ech dai.
Acontecerá no sexto dia, que prepararão o que trouxerem, e será o dobro da porção que recolherem diariamente”.
6 And Moises and Aaron seiden to alle the sones of Israel, At euentid ye schulen wite that the Lord ledde you out of the lond of Egipt;
Moisés e Arão disseram a todos os filhos de Israel: “À noite, vocês saberão que Javé os tirou da terra do Egito”.
7 and in the morewetid ye schulen se the glorie of the Lord; for Y herde youre grutchyng ayens the Lord; sotheli what ben we, for ye grutchen ayens us?
Pela manhã, vocês verão a glória de Iavé; porque ele ouve seus murmúrios contra Iavé. Quem somos nós, que você murmura contra nós?”.
8 And Moises seide, The Lord schal yyue to you at euentid fleischis to ete, and looues in the morewetid in plentee, for he herde youre grutchyngis, bi which ye grutchiden ayens hym; for whi, what ben we? youre grutchyng is not ayens vs but ayens the Lord.
Moisés disse: “Agora Javé lhe dará carne para comer à noite, e de manhã pão para satisfazê-lo, porque Javé ouve suas murmurações que você murmura contra ele”. E quem somos nós? Suas murmurações não são contra nós, mas contra Yahweh”.
9 And Moises seide to Aaron, Seie thou to al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel, Neiye ye bifore the Lord, for he herde youre grutchyng.
Moisés disse a Arão: “Diga a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel: 'Aproximai-vos de Javé, pois ele ouviu vossas murmurações'”.
10 And whanne Aaron spak to al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel, thei bihelden to the wildirnesse, and lo! the glorie of the Lord apperide in a cloude.
Quando Arão falou a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, eles olharam para o deserto, e eis que a glória de Javé apareceu na nuvem.
11 Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises,
Javé falou a Moisés, dizendo:
12 and seide, Y herde the grutchyngis of the sones of Israel; spek thou to hem, At euentid ye schulen ete fleischis, and in the morewtid ye schulen be fillid with looues, and ye schulen wite that Y am `youre Lord God.
“Ouvi os murmúrios dos filhos de Israel”. Fale com eles, dizendo: “À noite comerão carne, e de manhã se encherão de pão”. Então sabereis que eu sou Yahweh, vosso Deus””.
13 Therfor euentid was maad, and `curlewes stieden and hiliden the castels; and in the morewtid deew cam bi the face of the castels.
À noite, a codorniz surgiu e cobriu o acampamento; e pela manhã o orvalho circundava o acampamento.
14 And whanne it hadde hilid the erthe, a litil thing, and as powned with a pestel, in the licnesse of an hoorfrost on erthe, apperide in the wildirnesse.
Quando o orvalho que jazia tinha desaparecido, eis que na superfície do deserto era uma pequena coisa redonda, pequena como a geada no chão.
15 And whanne the sones of Israel hadden seyn that, thei seiden to gidere, Man hu? which signyfieth, what is this? for thei wisten not what it was. To whiche Moises seide, This is the breed, which the Lord hath youe to you to ete.
Quando as crianças de Israel o viram, disseram umas para as outras: “O que é isso?”. Pois eles não sabiam o que era. Moisés lhes disse: “É o pão que Javé lhes deu para comer”.
16 This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Ech man gadere therof as myche as suffisith to be etun, gomor bi ech heed, bi the noumbre of youre soulis that dwellen in the tabernacle, so ye schulen take.
Isto é o que Javé ordenou: “Recolhei dele todos de acordo com sua alimentação; um omer uma cabeça, de acordo com o número de vossas pessoas, tomai-o, cada homem para aqueles que estão em sua tenda””.
17 And the sones of Israel diden so, and thei gaderiden oon more, another lesse;
As crianças de Israel o fizeram, e algumas se reuniram mais, outras menos.
18 and thei metiden at the mesure gomor; nethir he that gaderide more had more, nethir he that made redi lesse fond lesse, but alle gaderiden bi that that thei myyten ete.
Quando o mediram com um gômero, aquele que muito reuniu não tinha nada, e aquele que pouco reuniu não tinha falta. Cada um deles se reunia de acordo com sua alimentação.
19 And Moises seide to hem, Noon leeue therof in to the morewtid; whiche herden not him,
Moisés disse-lhes: “Não deixem ninguém sair dele até de manhã”.
20 but summe of hem leften til to the morewtid, and it bigan to buyle with wormes, and it was rotun; and Moises was wrooth ayens hem.
Notwithstanding eles não deram ouvidos a Moisés, mas alguns deles saíram dele até de manhã, então ele criou minhocas e se tornou sujo; e Moisés ficou furioso com eles.
21 Forsothe alle gaderiden in the morewtid as myche as `miyte suffice to be eten; and whanne the sunne was hoot, it was moltun.
Eles o reuniram pela manhã, todos de acordo com sua alimentação. Quando o sol ficou quente, ele derreteu.
22 Sotheli in the sixte dai thei gaderiden double metis, that is, `twei gomor by ech man. Forsothe alle the princis of the multitude camen, and telden to Moises, which seide to hem,
No sexto dia, eles juntaram o dobro do pão, dois presságios para cada um; e todos os governantes da congregação vieram e disseram a Moisés.
23 This it is that the Lord spak, The reste of the sabot is halewid to the Lord, do ye what euer thing schal be wrouyt to morewe, and sethe ye tho thingis that schulen be sodun; sotheli what euer thing is residue, kepe ye til in to the morewe.
Ele lhes disse: “Isto é o que Javé disse: 'Amanhã é um descanso solene, um sábado santo para Javé'”. Cozinhem o que quiserem cozinhar, e cozam o que quiserem ferver; e tudo o que sobrar, fiquem deitados para serem guardados até a manhã””.
24 And thei diden so as Moises comaundide, and it was not rotun, nether a worm was foundun ther ynne.
Eles o deitaram até a manhã, como Moisés ordenou, e não se tornou sujo, e não havia minhocas nele.
25 And Moises seide, Ete ye that in this dai, for it is the sabat of the Lord, it schal not be foundun to dai in the feeld; gadere ye in sixe daies,
Moisés disse: “Comam isso hoje, pois hoje é um sábado para Yahweh. Hoje você não o encontrará no campo”.
26 forsothe the sabat of the Lord is in the seuenthe dai, therfor it schal not be foundun.
Seis dias você o reunirá, mas no sétimo dia é o Sábado. Nele não haverá nenhum”.
27 The seuenthe dai cam, and summe of the puple yeden out `to gadire, and thei founden not.
No sétimo dia, algumas das pessoas saíram para se reunir, e não encontraram nenhum.
28 Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Hou long `nylen ye kepe my comaundementis, and my lawe?
Yahweh disse a Moisés: “Por quanto tempo você se recusa a guardar meus mandamentos e minhas leis?
29 Se ye that the Lord yaf to you the sabat, and for this he yaf to you in the sixte dai double meetis; ech man dwelle at him silf, noon go out of his place in the seuenthe dai.
Eis que, porque Javé te deu o sábado, por isso ele te dá no sexto dia o pão de dois dias”. Todos ficam em seu lugar. Que ninguém saia de seu lugar no sétimo dia”.
30 And the puple kepte sabat in the seuenthe dai.
Portanto, o povo descansou no sétimo dia.
31 And the hous of Israel clepide the name therof man, which was whijt as the seed of coriandre, and the taast therof was as of flour with hony.
A casa de Israel chamou seu nome de “Maná”, e era como uma semente de coentro, branca; e seu sabor era como hóstias com mel.
32 Forsothe Moises seide, This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Fille thou a gomor therof, and be it kept in to generaciouns to comynge aftirward, that thei knowe the breed bi which Y fedde you in the wildirnesse, whanne ye weren led out of the lond of Egipt.
Moisés disse: “Esta é a coisa que Javé ordenou: 'Que um gérmen cheio dele seja guardado através de vossas gerações, para que vejam o pão com o qual vos alimentei no deserto, quando vos tirei da terra do Egito'”.
33 And Moises seide to Aaron, Take thou o vessel, and putte therinne man, as myche as gomor mai take, and putte bifore the Lord, to be kept in to youre generaciouns,
Moisés disse a Aaron: “Pegue uma panela, e ponha nela um caramelo cheio de maná, e coloque-o diante de Yahweh, para ser guardado através de suas gerações”.
34 as the Lord comaundide to Moises; and Aaron puttide that to be kept in the tabernacle.
Como Yahweh ordenou a Moisés, assim Aaron o colocou antes do Testemunho, para ser mantido.
35 Forsothe the sones of Israel eeten manna in fourti yeer, til thei camen in to the lond abitable; thei weren fed with this mete til thei touchiden the endis of the lond of Canaan.
Os filhos de Israel comeram o maná durante quarenta anos, até chegarem a uma terra habitada. Eles comeram o maná até chegarem às fronteiras da terra de Canaã.
36 Forsothe gomor is the tenthe part of efy.
Now um omer é um décimo de uma efa.
