Exodus 12
1 Also the Lord seide to Moises and Aaron in the lond of Egipt,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, dans le pays d’Égypte, en ces termes:
2 This monethe, the bigynnyng of monethis to you, schal be the firste in the monethis of the yeer.
"Ce mois-ci est pour vous le commencement des mois; il sera pour vous le premier des mois de l’année.
3 Speke ye to al the cumpanye of the sones of Israel, and seie ye to hem, In the tenthe dai of this monethe ech man take a lomb by hise meynees and housis;
Parlez à toute la communauté d’Israël en ces termes: Au dixième jour de ce mois, que chacun se procure un agneau pour sa famille paternelle, un agneau par maison.
4 but if the noumbre is lesse, that it may not suffice to ete the lomb, he schal take his neiybore, which is ioyned to his hows, bi the noumbre of soulis, that moun suffice to the etyng of the lomb.
Celui dont le ménage sera trop peu nombreux pour manger un agneau, s’associera avec son voisin, le plus proche de sa maison, selon le nombre des personnes; chacun, selon sa consommation, réglera la répartition de l’agneau.
5 Forsothe the lomb schal be a male of o yeer, without wem; bi which custom ye schulen take also a kide;
L’Animal doit être sans défaut, mâle, dans sa première année; vous le choisirez parmi les brebis ou les chèvres.
6 and ye schulen kepe hym til to the fouretenthe dai of this monethe; and al the multitude of the sones of Israel schal offre hym at euentid.
Vous le tiendrez en réserve jusqu’au quatorzième jour de ce mois; alors toute la communauté d’Israël l’immolera vers le soir.
7 And thei schulen take of his blood, and schulen put on euer either post, and in lyntels, `ether hiyer threschfoldis, of the housis, in whiche thei schulen ete hym;
On prendra de son sang et on en teindra les deux poteaux et le linteau des maisons dans lesquelles on le mangera.
8 and in that niyt thei schulen ete fleischis, roostid with fier, and therf looues, with letusis of the feeld.
Et l’on en mangera la chair cette même nuit; on la mangera rôtie au feu et accompagnée d’azymes et d’herbes amères.
9 Ye schulen not ete therof ony raw thing, nether sodun in watir, but roostid oneli by fier; ye schulen deuoure the heed with feet and entrailis therof;
N’En mangez rien qui soit à demi cuit, ni bouilli dans l’eau mais seulement rôti au feu, la tète avec les jarrets et les entrailles.
10 nether ony thing therof schal abide til the morewtid; if ony thing is residue, ye schulen brenne in the fier.
Vous n’en laisserez rien pour le matin; ce qui en serait resté jusqu’au matin, consumez-le par le feu.
11 Forsothe thus ye schulen ete hym; ye schulen girde youre reynes, and ye schulen haue schoon in the feet, and ye schulen holde stauys in hondis, and ye schulen ete hastili; for it is fase, that is, the passyng of the Lord.
Et voici comme vous le mangerez: la ceinture aux reins, la chaussure aux pieds, le bâton a la main; et vous le mangerez à la hâte, c’est la pâque en l’honneur de l’Éternel.
12 And Y schal passe thorou the lond of Egipt in that niyt, and Y schal smyte al the firste gendrid thing in the lond of Egipt, fro man til to beeste; and Y the Lord schal make domes in alle the goddis of Egipt.
Je parcourrai le pays d’Égypte, cette même nuit; je frapperai tout premier-né dans le pays d’Égypte, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la bête et je ferai justice de toutes les divinités de l’Égypte, moi l’Éternel!
13 Forsothe blood schal be to you in to signe, in the housis in whiche ye schulen be; and Y schal se the blood, and Y schal passe you; nether a wounde distriynge schal be in you, whanne Y schal smyte the lond of Egipt.
Le sang, dont seront teintes les maisons où vous habitez, vous servira de signe: je reconnaîtrai ce sang et je vous épargnerai et le fléau n’aura pas prise sur vous lorsque je sévirai sur le pays d’Égypte.
14 Forsothe ye schulen haue this dai in to mynde, and `ye schulen make it solempne to the Lord in youre generaciouns bi euerlastynge worschipyng.
Ce jour sera pour vous une époque mémorable et vous le solenniserez comme une fête de l’Éternel; d’âge en âge, à jamais, vous le fêterez.
15 In seuene daies ye schulen ete therf breed; in the firste dai no thing diyt with sour douy schal be in youre housis; who euer schal ete ony thing diyt with sour douy, fro the firste dai til the seuenthe dai, that soule schal perische fro Israel.
Sept jours durant, vous mangerez des pains azymes; surtout, le jour précédent, vous ferez disparaître le levain de vos maisons. Car celui-là serait retranché d’Israël, qui mangerait du pain levé, depuis le premier jour jusqu’au septième.
16 The firste day schal be hooli and solempne, and the seuenthe dai schal be worschipful bi the same halewyng; ye schulen not do ony werk in tho daies, outakun these thingis that perteynen to mete;
Le premier jour vous aurez une convocation sainte et le septième jour encore une sainte convocation. Aucun travail ne pourra être fait ces jours-là; toutefois, ce qui sert à la nourriture de chacun, cela seul vous pourrez le faire.
17 and ye schulen kepe therf breed. For in that same dai Y schal lede out of the lond of Egipt youre oost; and ye schulen kepe this dai in youre generaciouns bi euerlastynge custom.
Conservez la fête des Azymes, car c’est en ce même jour que j’aurai fait sortir vos légions du pays d’Égypte; conservez ce jour-là dans vos générations, comme une institution perpétuelle.
18 In the first monethe, in the fouretenthe dai of the monethe, at euentid, ye schulen ete therf breed, til to the oon and twentithe dai of the same monethe at euentid.
Le premier mois, le quatorzième jour du mois, au soir, vous mangerez des azymes, jusqu’au vingt-et-unième jour du mois au soir.
19 In seuene dayes no thing `diyt with sour douy schal be foundun in youre housis; if ony etith ony thing diyt with sour dow, his soule schal perische fro the cumpeny of Israel, as wel of comelyngis, as of hem that ben borun in the lond.
Durant sept jours, qu’il ne soit point trouvé de levain dans vos maisons; car quiconque mangera une substance levée, celui-là sera retranché de la communion d’Israël, le prosélyte comme l’indigène.
20 Ye schulen not ete ony thing diyt with sour dow, and ye schulen ete therf breed in alle youre dwellyng placis.
Vous ne mangerez d’aucune pâte levée; dans toutes vos demeures vous consommerez des pains azymes."
21 Forsothe Moises clepide alle the eldre men of the sones of Israel, and seide to hem, Go ye, and take a beeste by youre meynees, and offre ye fase; and dippe ye a bundel of isope,
Moïse convoqua tous les anciens d’Israël et leur dit: "Choisissez et prenez chacun du menu bétail pour vos familles et égorgez la victime pascale.
22 in the blood which `is in the threisfold, and sprynge ye therof the lyntel, and euer either post; noon of you schal go out at the dore of his hows til the morewtid.
Puis vous prendrez une poignée d’hysope, vous la tremperez dans le sang reçu dans un bassin et vous teindrez le linteau et les deux poteaux de ce sang du bassin. Que pas un d’entre vous ne franchisse alors le seuil de sa demeure, jusqu’au matin.
23 For the Lord schal passe smytynge Egipcians; and whanne he schal se the blood in the lyntel, and in euer either post, he schal passe the dore of the hows; and he schal not suffre the smytere to entre in to youre housis, and to hirte.
Lorsque le Seigneur s’avancera pour frapper l’Égypte, il regardera le sang appliqué au linteau et aux deux poteaux et il passera devant la porte et il ne permettra pas au fléau d’entrer dans vos maisons pour sévir.
24 Kepe thou this word; it schal be a lawful thing to thee and to thi sones til in to with outen ende.
Vous garderez cette loi, comme une règle invariable pour toi et pour tes enfants.
25 And whanne ye schulen entre in to the lond which the Lord schal yyue to you, as he bihiyte, ye schulen kepe these cerymonyes;
Et lorsque vous serez arrivés dans le pays que le Seigneur vous donnera, comme il l’a promis, vous conserverez ce rite.
26 and whanne youre sones schulen seie to you, What is this religioun? ye schulen seie to hem,
Alors, quand vos enfants vous demanderont: ‘Que signifie pour vous ce rite?’
27 It is the sacrifice of the passyng of the Lord, whanne he passide ouer the housis of the sones of Israel in Egipt, and smoot Egipcians, and delyueride oure housis. And the puple was bowid, and worschipide.
vous répondrez: ‘C’Est le sacrifice de la pâque en l’honneur de l’Éternel, qui épargna les demeures des Israélites en Egypte, alors qu’il frappa les Égyptiens et voulut préserver nos familles.’" Et le peuple s’inclina et tous se prosternèrent.
28 And the sones of Israel yeden out, and diden as the Lord comaundide to Moises and to Aaron.
Les enfants d’Israël se mirent en devoir d’obéir: comme l’Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse et à Aaron, ainsi firent-ils.
29 Forsothe it was doon in the myddis of the nyyt, the Lord smoot al the firste gendrid thing in the lond of Egipt, fro the firste gendrid of Farao, that sat in the trone of hym, til to the first gendrid of the caitif womman, that was in the prisoun, and alle the first gendrid of beestis.
Or, au milieu de la nuit, le Seigneur fit périr tout premier-né dans le pays d’Égypte, depuis le premier-né de Pharaon, héritier de son trône, jusqu’au premier-né du captif au fond de la geôle et tous les premiers nés des animaux.
30 And Farao roos in the nyyt, and alle hise seruauntis, and al Egipt; and a greet cry was maad in Egipt, for noon hows was, in which a deed man lay not.
Pharaon se leva de nuit, ainsi que tous ses serviteurs et tous les Égyptiens et ce fut une clameur immense dans l’Égypte: car il n’y avait point de maison qui ne renfermât un mort.
31 And whanne Moises and Aaron weren clepid in the nyyt, Farao seide, Rise ye, go ye out fro my puple, bothe ye and the sones of Israel; go ye, offre ye to the Lord, as ye seien;
Il manda Moïse et Aaron, la nuit même et dit: "Allez! Partez du milieu de mon peuple et vous et les enfants d’Israël! Allez adorer l’Éternel comme vous avez dit!
32 take ye youre scheep and greete beestis, as ye axiden; and go ye, and blesse ye me.
Prenez votre menu et votre gros bétail comme vous avez dit et partez! Mais, en retour, bénissez-moi."
33 And Egipcians constreyneden the puple to go out of the lond swiftli, and seiden, All we schulen die!
Les Égyptiens firent violence au peuple, en se hâtant de le repousser du pays; car ils disaient: "Nous périssons tous."
34 Therfor the puple took meele spreynd togidere, bifor that it was diyt with sour douy; and boond in mentils, and puttide on her schuldris.
Et le peuple emporta sa pâte non encore levée, leurs sébiles sur l’épaule, enveloppées dans leurs manteaux.
35 And the sones of Israel diden as the Lord comaundide to Moises; and thei axiden of Egipcians siluerne vesselis and goldun, and ful myche clooth.
Les enfants d’Israël s’étaient conformés à la parole de Moïse, en demandant aux Égyptiens des vases d’argent, des vases d’or et des vêtements
36 Forsothe the Lord yaf grace to the puple bifor Egipcians, that the Egipcians lenten to hem; and thei maden bare Egipcians.
et le Seigneur avait inspiré pour ce peuple de la bienveillance aux Égyptiens, qui lui prêtèrent, de sorte qu’il dépouilla les Égyptiens.
37 And the sones of Israel yeden forth fro Ramasses in to Socoth, almest sixe hundrid thousind of foot men, with out litle children and wymmen;
Les enfants d’Israël partirent de Ramsès, dans la direction de Soukkoth; environ six cent mille voyageurs, hommes faits, sans compter les enfants.
38 but also comyn puple of malis and femalis vnnoumbrable stieden with hem; scheep, and oxun, and ful many beestis of diuerse kynde, stieden with hem.
De plus, une tourbe nombreuse les avait suivis, ainsi que du menu et du gros bétail en troupeaux très considérables.
39 And thei bakiden meele, which spreynd to gidere `a while ago thei token fro Egipt, and maden therf looues bakun vnder the aischis; for the looues miyten not be diyt with sour dow, for Egipcians compelliden to go out, and suffriden not to make ony tariyng, nether it was leiser to make ony seew.
Ils firent, de la pâte qu’ils avaient emportée d’Égypte, des gâteaux azymes, car elle n’avait pas fermenté; parce que, repoussés de l’Égypte, ils n’avaient pu attendre et ne s’étaient pas munis d’autres provisions.
40 Forsothe the dwellyng of the sones of Israel, bi which thei dwelliden in Egipt, was of foure hundrid and thretti yeer;
Or, le séjour des Israélites, depuis qu’ils s’établirent dans l’Égypte, avait été de quatre cent trente ans.
41 and whanne tho weren fillid, al the oost of the Lord yede out of the lond of Egipt in the same dai.
Et ce fut au bout de quatre cent trente ans, précisément le même jour, que toutes les milices du Seigneur sortirent du pays d’Égypte.
42 This nyyt is worthi to be kept in the worschipyng of the Lord, whanne he ladde hem out of the lond of Egipt; alle the sones of Israel owen to kepe this in her generaciouns.
C’Était la Nuit prédestinée par l’Éternel, pour leur sortie du pays d’Égypte; c’est cette même nuit instituée par le Seigneur, comme prédestinée à toutes les générations des enfants d’Israël.
43 Also the Lord seide to Moises and Aaron, This is the religioun of fase; ech alien schal not ete therof;
L’Éternel dit à Moïse et à Aaron: "Ceci est la règle de l’agneau pascal. Nul étranger n’en mangera.
44 sotheli ech seruaunt bouyt schal be circumcidid, and so he schal ete;
Quant à l’esclave acheté à prix d’argent, circoncis-le, alors il pourra en manger.
45 a comelyng and hirid man schulen not ete therof;
L’Habitant et le mercenaire étrangers n’en mangeront point.
46 it schal be etun in oon hows; nether ye schulen bere out of the fleischis therof; nether ye schulen breke a boon therof.
Il sera consommé dans une même maison, tu ne transporteras rien de sa chair au dehors et vous n’en romprez pas un seul os.
47 Ech company of the sones of Israel schal make that fase;
Toute la communauté d’Israël doit y prendre part.
48 that if ony pilgrym wole passe into youre feith and worschipyng, and make fase of the Lord, ech male kynde of hym schal be circumcidid bifore, and thanne he schal make lawfuli, and he schal be to gidere as a man borun of the lond; forsothe if ony man is not circumcidid, he schal not ete therof.
Si un étranger, habite avec toi et veut célébrer la pâque du Seigneur, que tout mâle qui lui appartient soit circoncis, il sera alors admis à la célébrer et deviendra l’égal de l’indigène; mais nul incirconcis n’en mangera.
49 The same lawe schal be to a man borun of the lond, and to a comelyng, that takith youre feith, which is a pilgrym anentis you.
Une seule et même loi régira l’indigène et l’étranger demeurant au milieu de vous."
50 And alle the sones of Israel diden as the Lord comaundide to Moises and Aaron.
Tous les Israélites obéirent: comme l’Éternel l’avait prescrit à Moïse et à Aaron, ainsi firent-ils.
51 And in the same dai the Lord ladde out of `the lond of Egipt the sones of Israel, bi her cumpanies.
Or, ce fut ce jour-là même que l’ Éternel fit sortir les Israélites du pays d’Égypte, selon leurs légions.
