Exodus 1
1 These ben the names of the sones of Israel, that entriden into Egipt with Jacob; alle entriden with her housis;
೧ಯಾಕೋಬನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು:
2 Ruben, Symeon,
೨ರೂಬೇನ್, ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್, ಲೇವಿ, ಯೆಹೂದ,
3 Leuy, Judas, Isachar, Zabulon, and Benjamin,
೩ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರ್, ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್,
4 Dan, and Neptalim, Gad, and Aser.
೪ದಾನ್, ಗಾದ್, ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆಶೇರ್.
5 Therfor alle the soules of hem that yeden out of `the hipe of Jacob weren seuenti and fyue.
೫ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂತತಿಯವರು ಒಟ್ಟು ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ. ಆದರೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.
6 Forsothe Joseph was in Egipt; and whanne he was deed, and alle hise brithren, and al his kynrede,
೬ಆ ನಂತರ ಯೋಸೇಫನೂ, ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರೂ, ಆ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದರು.
7 the sones of Israel encreessiden, and weren multiplied as buriounnyng, and thei weren maad strong greetli, and filliden the lond.
೭ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಲ ಹೊಂದಿದರು. ಆ ದೇಶವು ಅವರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಹೋಯಿತು.
8 A newe kyng, that knewe not Joseph, roos in the meene tyme on Egipt, and seide to his puple, Lo!
೮ತರುವಾಯ ಯೋಸೇಫನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದ ಹೊಸ ಅರಸನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
9 the puple of the sones of Israel is myche, and strongere than we;
೯ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮಗಿಂತ ಬಹಳ ಬಲಶಾಲಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನೋಡಿರಿ.
10 come ye, wiseli oppresse we it, lest perauenture it be multiplied; and lest, if batel risith ayens vs, it be addid to oure enemyes, and go out of the lond, whanne we ben ouercomun.
೧೦ನಮಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧವೇನಾದರೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು, ನಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದಾರು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗದಂತೆ ನಾವು ಉಪಾಯ ಮಾಡೋಣ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ
11 And so he made maistris of werkis souereyns to hem, that thei schulden turmente hem with chargis. And thei maden citees of tabernaclis to Farao, Fiton, and Ramesses.
೧೧ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಂದ ಪೀಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಫರೋಹನನಿಗೆ ಪಿತೋಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಮ್ಸೇಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಉಗ್ರಾಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.
12 And bi hou myche thei oppressiden hem, bi so myche thei weren multiplied, and encreessiden more.
೧೨ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಉಪದ್ರವಪಡಿಸಿದಷ್ಟೂ, ಅವರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿ ಹರಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೆದರಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾದರು.
13 And Egipcians hatiden the sones of Israel, and turmentiden, and scorneden hem;
೧೩ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ಕ್ರೂರವಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
14 and brouyten her lijf to bitternesse bi hard werkis of cley and to tijl stoon, and bi al seruage, bi which thei weren oppressid in the werkis of erthe.
೧೪ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಮಾಡುವ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ವ್ಯವಸಾಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಧವಾದ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಜೀವಿತವನ್ನೇ ಬೇಸರಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಐಗುಪ್ತರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಬಹಳ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
15 Forsothe the kyng of Egipt seide to the mydwyues of Ebrews, of whiche oon was clepid Sefora, the tother Fua;
೧೫ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದ ಅರಸನು “ಶಿಪ್ರಾ” ಮತ್ತು “ಪೂಗಾ” ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು.
16 and he commaundide to hem, Whanne ye schulen do the office of medewyues to Ebrew wymmen, and the tyme of childberyng schal come, if it is a knaue child, sle ye him; if it is a womman, kepe ye.
೧೬ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಹೆಂಗಸರಿಗೆ ಹೆರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರು ಹೆರುವ ಮಗುವು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿರಿ, ಹೆಣ್ಣಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಬದುಕಲು ಬಿಡಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
17 Forsothe the medewyues dredden God, and diden not bi the comaundement of the kyng of Egipt, but kepten knaue children.
೧೭ಆದರೆ ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಐಗುಪ್ತರ ಅರಸನ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಉಳಿಸಿದರು.
18 To whiche clepid to hym the kyng seide, What is this thing which ye wolden do, that ye wolden kepe the children?
೧೮ಆಗ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನು ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ, “ನೀವು ಅವರ ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಹೀಗೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
19 Whiche answeriden, Ebrew wymmen ben not as the wymmen of Egipt, for thei han kunnyng of the craft of medewijf, and childen bifore that we comen to hem.
೧೯ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರು ಫರೋಹನಿಗೆ, “ಇಬ್ರಿಯರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಂತೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಅವರು ಬಹು ಚುರುಕು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯವರು. ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯು ಅವರ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಹೆರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
20 Therfor God dide wel to medewyues; and the puple encreesside, and was coumfortid greetli.
೨೦ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವರು ಆ ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಬಹಳ ಬಲಗೊಂಡರು.
21 And for the mydewyues dredden God, he bildide `housis to hem.
೨೧ಸೂಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯರು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಂಶಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿ ಬಲಗೊಂಡರು.
22 Therfor Farao comaundide al his puple, and seide, What euer thing of male kynde is borun to Ebrewis, `caste ye into the flood; what euer thing of wymmen kynde, kepe ye.
೨೨ತರುವಾಯ ಫರೋಹನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಇಬ್ರಿಯರ ಗಂಡು ಕೂಸುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೈಲ್ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು, ಹೆಣ್ಣುಕೂಸುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉಳಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
