Deuteronomy 9
1 Here thou, Israel; thou schalt passe Jordan to dai, that thou welde mooste naciouns, and strengere than thou; grete citees, and wallid `til to heuene;
सुन ले ऐ इस्राईल, आज तुझे यरदन पार इसलिए जाना है, कि तू ऐसी क़ौमों पर जो तुझ से बड़ी और ताक़तवर हैं, और ऐसे बड़े शहरों पर जिनकी फ़सीलें आसमान से बातें करती हैं, क़ब्ज़ा करे।
2 a greet puple, and hiy; the sones of Enachym, whiche thi silf `siest, and herdist, whiche no man may ayenstonde in the contrarie part.
वहाँ 'अनाक़ीम की औलाद हैं जो बड़े — बड़े और क़दआवर लोग हैं। तुझे उनका हाल मा'लूम है, और तूने उनके बारे में यह कहते सुना है कि बनी 'अनाक का मुक़ाबला कौन कर सकता है?
3 Therfor thou schalt wite to dai, that thi Lord God hym silf schal passe bifor thee; he is a fier deuourynge and wastynge, that schal al to breke hem, and schal do awei, and destrie bifor thi face swiftli, as he spak to thee.
फिर तू आज कि दिन जान ले, कि ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा तेरे आगे आगे भसम करने वाली आग की तरह पार जा रहा है। वह उनको फ़ना करेगा और वह उनको तेरे आगे पस्त करेगा, ऐसा कि तू उनको निकाल कर जल्द हलाक कर डालेगा, जैसा ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझ से कहा है।
4 Seie thou not in thin herte, whanne thi Lord God hath do hem awey in thi siyt, For my riytfulnesse the Lord brouyte me yn, that Y schulde welde this lond; sithen these naciouns ben doon awey for her wickidnessis.
“और जब ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा उनको तेरे आगे से निकाल चुके, तो तू अपने दिल में यह न कहना कि मेरी सदाक़त की वजह से ख़ुदावन्द मुझे इस मुल्क पर क़ब्ज़ा करने को यहाँ लाया क्यूँकि हक़ीक़त में इनकी शरारत की वजह से ख़ुदावन्द इन क़ौमों को तेरे आगे से निकालता है।
5 For not for thi riytfulnessis, and equyte of thin herte thou schalt entre that thou welde the lond `of hem; but for thei diden wickidli, thei weren doon awey, whanne thou entridist, and that the Lord schulde fille his word which he bihiyte vndur an ooth to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
तू अपनी सदाक़त या अपने दिल की रास्ती की वजह से उस मुल्क पर क़ब्ज़ा करने को नहीं जा रहा है बल्कि ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा इन क़ौमों की शरारत की वजह से इनको तेरे आगे से ख़ारिज करता है, ताकि यूँ वह उस वा'दे को जिसकी क़सम उसने तेरे बाप — दादा अब्रहाम और इस्हाक़ और या'क़ूब से खाई पूरा करे।
6 Therfor wite thou that not for thi riytfulnesses thi Lord God yaf to thee this beste lond in to possessioun, sithen thou art a puple of hardeste nol.
“ग़रज़ तू समझ ले कि ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा तेरी सदाक़त की वजह से यह अच्छा मुल्क तुझे क़ब्ज़ा करने के लिए नहीं दे रहा है, क्यूँकि तू एक बाग़ी क़ौम है।
7 Haue thou mynde, and foryete not, hou in the wildirnesse thou terridist thi Lord God to greet wraththe; fro that dai in which thou yedist out of Egipt `til to this place, thou striuedist euere ayens the Lord.
इस बात को याद रख और कभी न भूल, कि तूने ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा को वीराने में किस किस तरह ग़ुस्सा दिलाया; बल्कि जब से तुम मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से निकले हो तब से इस जगह पहुँचने तक, तुम बराबर ख़ुदावन्द से बग़ावत ही करते रहे।
8 For whi also in Oreb thou terridist hym, and he was wrooth, and wolde do thee awei, whanne Y stiede in to the hil,
और होरिब में भी तुमने ख़ुदावन्द को ग़ुस्सा दिलाया, चुनाँचे ख़ुदावन्द नाराज़ होकर तुमको हलाक करना चाहता था।
9 that Y schulde take two tablis of stoon, the tablis of couenaunt which the Lord made with you, and Y continuede in the hil fourti daies and nyytis, and Y eet not breed, and Y drank not watir.
जब मैं पत्थर की दोनों तख़्तियों को, या'नी उस अहद की तख़्तियों को जो ख़ुदावन्द ने तुमसे बाँधा था लेने को पहाड़ पर चढ़ गया; तो मैं चालीस दिन और चालीस रात वहीं पहाड़ पर रहा और न रोटी खाई न पानी पिया।
10 And the Lord yaf to me, twey tablis of stoon, euer either wrytun with Goddis fyngur, and conteynynge alle the wordis whiche he spak to you in the hil, fro the myddis of the fier, whanne the cumpany of puple was gaderid togidere.
और ख़ुदावन्द ने अपने हाथ की लिखी हुई पत्थर की दोनों तख़्तियाँ मेरे सुपुर्द की, और उन पर वही बातें लिखी थीं जो ख़ुदावन्द ने पहाड़ पर आग के बीच में से मजमे' के दिन तुमसे कही थीं।
11 And whanne fourti daies and so many nyytis hadden passid, the Lord yaf to me twei tablis of stoon, tablis of boond of pees;
और चालीस दिन और चालीस रात के बाद ख़ुदावन्द ने पत्थर की वह दोनों तख़्तियाँ या'नी 'अहद की तख़्तियाँ मुझको दीं।
12 and he seide to me, Rise thou, and go doun for hennys soone, for thi puple, which thou leddist out of Egipt, han forsake swiftli the weie which thou schewidist to hem, and thei han maad to hem a yotun calf.
और ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझसे कहा, 'उठ कर जल्द यहाँ से नीचे जा, क्यूँकि तेरे लोग जिनको तू मिस्र से निकाल लाया है बिगड़ गए हैं वह उस राह से जिसका मैंने उनको हुक्म दिया जल्द नाफ़रमान हो गए, और अपने लिए एक मूरत ढाल कर बना ली है।'
13 And eft the Lord seide to me, `Y se that this puple is of hard nol;
“और ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझसे यह भी कहा, कि मैंने इन लोगों को देख लिया, ये बाग़ी लोग हैं।
14 suffre thou me, that I alto breke hym, and do awey the name `of hym fro vndur heuene; and Y schal ordeyne thee on a folk which is grettere and strongere than this folk.
इसलिए अब तू मुझे इनको हलाक करने दे ताकि मैं इनका नाम सफ़ह — ए — रोज़गार से मिटा डालूँ, और मैं तुझ से एक क़ौम जो इन से ताक़तवर और बड़ी हो बनाऊँगा।
15 And whanne Y cam doun fro the hil brennynge, and helde with euer either hond twei tablis of boond of pees, and Y seiy,
तब मैं उल्टा फिरा और पहाड़ से नीचे उतरा, और पहाड़ आग से दहक रहा था; और 'अहद की वह दोनों तख़्तियाँ मेरे दोनों हाथों में थीं।
16 that ye hadde synned to youre Lord God, and hadden maad to you a yotun calf, and hadden forsake swiftli the weie of God which he schewide to you,
और मैंने देखा कि तुमने ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा का गुनाह किया; और अपने लिए एक बछड़ा ढाल कर बना लिया है, और बहुत जल्द उस राह से जिसका हुक्म ख़ुदावन्द ने तुमको दिया था, नाफ़रमान हो गए।
17 Y castide doun the tablis fro myn hondis, and brak tho tablis in youre siyt.
तब मैंने उन दोनों तख़्तियों को अपने दोनों हाथों से लेकर फेंक दिया और तुम्हारी आँखों के सामने उनको तोड़ डाला
18 And Y felde doun bifor the Lord as `biforto, in fourti daies and fourti nyytis, and Y eet not breed, `and drank not watir, for alle youre synnes whiche ye diden ayens the Lord, and terriden hym to `greet wraththe;
और मैं पहले की तरह चालीस दिन और चालीस रात ख़ुदावन्द के आगे औंधा पड़ा रहा, मैंने न रोटी खाई न पानी पिया; क्यूँकि तुमसे बड़ा गुनाह सरज़द हुआ था, और ख़ुदावन्द को ग़ुस्सा दिलाने के लिए तुमने वह काम किया जो उसकी नज़र में बुरा था।
19 for Y dredde the indignacioun and yre of hym, by which he was stirid ayens you, and wolde do you awey. And the Lord herde me also in this tyme.
और मैं ख़ुदावन्द के क़हर और ग़ज़ब से डर रहा था, क्यूँकि वह तुमसे सख़्त नाराज़ होकर तुमको हलाक करने को था; लेकिन ख़ुदावन्द ने उस बार भी मेरी सुन ली।
20 Also the Lord was wrooth greteli ayens Aaron, and wolde alto breke hym, and Y preiede in lijk maner for hym.
और ख़ुदावन्द हारून से ऐसे ग़ुस्सा था कि उसे हलाक करना चाहा, लेकिन मैंने उस वक़्त हारून के लिए भी दुआ की।
21 `Forsothe Y took youre synne which ye maden, that is, the calf, and brente it in fier, and Y alto brak in gobetis, and droof outerli in to dust, and castide forth in to the stronde, that cam doun fro the hil.
और मैंने तुम्हारे गुनाह को या'नी उस बछड़े को, जो तुमने बनाया था लेकर आग में जलाया; फिर उसे कूट कूटकर ऐसा पीसा कि वह गर्द की तरह बारीक हो गया; और उसकी उस राख को उस नदी में जो पहाड़ से निकल कर नीचे बहती थी डाल दिया।
22 Also in the brennyng, and in the temptacioun at the watris of ayenseiyng, and in the Sepulcris of Coueytise, ye terriden the Lord;
“और तबे'रा और मस्सा और क़बरोत हत्तावा में भी तुमने ख़ुदावन्द को ग़ुस्सा दिलाया।
23 and whanne Y sente you fro Cades Barne, and seide, `Stye ye, and welde the lond which Y yaf to you, and ye dispisiden the comaundement of youre Lord God, and ye bileueden not to him, nether ye wolden here his vois;
और जब ख़ुदावन्द ने तुमको क़ादिस बर्नी'अ से यह कह कर रवाना किया, कि जाओ और उस मुल्क को जो मैंने तुमको दिया है क़ब्ज़ा करो, तो उस वक़्त भी तुमने ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के हुक्म को 'उदूल किया, और उस पर ईमान न लाए और उसकी बात न मानी।
24 but euere ye weren rebel, fro the day in which Y bigan to knowe you.
जिस दिन से मेरी तुमसे वाक़फ़ियत हुई है, तुम बराबर ख़ुदावन्द से सरकशी करते रहे हो।
25 And Y lay byfore the Lord fourti daies and fourti nyytis, in whiche Y bisouyte hym mekeli, that he schulde not `do awey you, as he manaasside.
“इसलिए वह चालीस दिन और चालीस रात जो मैं ख़ुदावन्द के आगे औंधा पड़ा रहा, इसी लिए पड़ा रहा क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द ने कह दिया था कि वह तुमको हलाक करेगा।
26 And Y preiede, and seide, Lord God, distrye not thi puple, and thin eritage, which thou `ayen bouytist in thi greetnesse, which thou leddist out of Egipt in strong hond.
और मैंने ख़ुदावन्द से यह दुआ की, कि ऐ ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा तू अपनी क़ौम और अपनी मीरास के लोगों को, जिनको तूने अपनी क़ुदरत से नजात बख़्शी और जिनको तू ताक़तवर हाथ से मिस्र से निकाल लाया, हलाक न कर।
27 Haue thou mynde of thi seruauntis, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; biholde thou not the hardnesse of this puple, and the wickidnesse, and the synne therof,
अपने ख़ादिमों अब्रहाम और इस्हाक़ और या'क़ूब को याद फ़रमा, और इस क़ौम की ख़ुदसरी और शरारत और गुनाह पर नज़र न कर,
28 lest perauenture the dwelleris of the lond, out of which thou leddist vs, seien, The Lord myyte not bryng hem in to the lond which he bihiyte to hem, and he hatide hem; therfor he ledde hem out that he schulde sle hem in wildirnesse;
कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जिस मुल्क से तू हमको निकाल लाया है वहाँ के लोग कहने लगें, कि चूँकि ख़ुदावन्द उस मुल्क में जिसका वा'दा उसने उनसे किया था पहुँचा न सका, और चूँकि उसे उनसे नफ़रत भी थी, इसलिए वह उनको निकाल ले गया ताकि उनको वीराने में हलाक कर दे।
29 and thei ben thi puple and thin eritage, which thou leddist out in thi greet strengthe, and in thin arm holdun forth.
आख़िर यह लोग तेरी क़ौम और तेरी मीरास हैं जिनको तू अपने बड़े ज़ोर और बलन्द बाज़ू से निकाल लाया है।
