Deuteronomy 5
1 And Moises clepide al Israel, and seide to hym, Here, thou Israel, the cerymonyes and domes, whiche Y speke to dai in youre eeris; lerne ye tho, and `fille ye in werk.
Şi Moise a chemat tot Israelul şi le-a spus: Ascultă, Israele, statutele şi judecăţile pe care le vorbesc astăzi în urechile voastre, ca să le învăţaţi şi să le ţineţi şi să le împliniţi.
2 Oure Lord God made a boond of pees with vs in Oreb;
DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru a făcut cu noi un legământ în Horeb.
3 he made not couenaunt, `that is, of lawe writun, with oure fadris, but with vs that ben present, and lyuen.
Nu cu părinţii noştri a făcut DOMNUL acest legământ, ci cu noi, adică cu noi, toţi aceştia care suntem în viaţă astăzi.
4 Face to face he spak to vs in the hil, fro the myddis of the fier.
DOMNUL a vorbit cu voi faţă în faţă pe munte, din mijlocul focului,
5 Y was recouncelere and mediatour bitwixe God and you in that tyme, that Y schulde telle to you the wordis `of hym, for ye dredden the fier, and `stieden not in to the hil. And `the Lord seide,
(Eu stăteam în timpul acela între DOMNUL şi voi, ca să vă arăt cuvântul DOMNULUI, pentru că vă temeaţi din cauza focului şi nu v-aţi urcat pe munte), spunând:
6 Y am thi Lord God, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hows of seruage.
Eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău care te-am scos din ţara Egiptului, din casa robiei.
7 Thou schalt not haue alien Goddis in my siyt.
Să nu ai alţi dumnezei în afară de mine.
8 Thou schalt not make to thee a grauun ymage, nether a licnesse of alle thingis that ben in heuene aboue, and that ben in erthe bynethe, and that lyuen in watris vndur erthe;
Să nu îţi faci chip cioplit sau vreo asemănare a ceea ce este sus în cer, sau a ceea ce este jos pe pământ sau a ceea ce este în apele de sub pământ,
9 thou schalt not herie tho, `and thou schalt not worschipe tho; for Y am thi Lord God, `God a feruent louyer; and Y yelde the wickidnesse of fadris, in to sones in to the thridde and the fourthe generacioun to hem that haten me,
Să nu te prosterni înaintea lor, nici să nu le serveşti, pentru că eu, DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, sunt un Dumnezeu gelos, pedepsind nelegiuirea părinţilor peste copii până la a treia şi a patra generaţie a celor care mă urăsc,
10 and Y do mersy in to many thousyndis to hem that louen me, and kepen myn heestis.
Şi arătând milă la mii dintre cei care mă iubesc şi păzesc poruncile mele.
11 Thou schalt not mystake the name of thi Lord God in veyn, for he schal not be vnpunyschid, that takith the name of God on a veyn thing.
Să nu iei în deşert numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, pentru că DOMNUL nu îl va considera nevinovat pe cel care ia în deşert numele lui.
12 Kepe thou the `day of sabat that thou halewe it, as thi Lord God comaundide to thee.
Ţine ziua sabatului ca să o sfinţeşti, precum ţi-a poruncit DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
13 In sixe daies thou schalt worche, and thou schalt do alle thi werkis;
Lucrează şase zile şi fă toată munca ta;
14 the seventhe day is `of sabat, that is the reste of thi Lord God. Thou schalt not do therynne ony thing of werk; thou, and thi sone, and douyter, seruaunt, and handmaide, and oxe, and asse, and `al thi werk beeste, and the pilgrym which is with ynne thi yatis; that thi seruaunt reste and thin handmaide, as also thou.
Dar ziua a şaptea este sabatul pentru DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău; să nu faci nicio lucrare, nici tu, nici fiul tău, nici fiica ta, nici servitorul tău, nici servitoarea ta, nici boul tău, nici măgarul tău, nici vreuna dintre vitele tale, nici străinul tău care este înăuntrul porţilor tale, ca să se odihnească şi servitorul tău şi servitoarea ta, la fel ca tine.
15 Bithenke thou, that also thou seruedist in Egipt, and thi Lord God ledde thee out fro thennus, in a strong hond, and arm holdun forth; therfor he comaundide to thee, that thou schuldist kepe the `dai of sabat.
Şi aminteşte-ţi că ai fost servitor în ţara Egiptului şi că DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te-a scos de acolo cu mână tare şi cu braţ întins; de aceea ţi-a poruncit DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău să ţii ziua sabatului.
16 Onoure thi fadir and thi modir, as thi Lord God comaundide to thee, that thou lyue in long tyme, and that it be wel to thee, in the lond which thi Lord God schal yyue to thee.
Onorează pe tatăl tău şi pe mama ta, precum ţi-a poruncit DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, ca să ţi se lungească zilele şi ca să îţi meargă bine, în ţara pe care ţi-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
17 Thou schalt not sle.
Să nu ucizi.
18 Thou schalt not do letcherie.
Nici să nu comiţi adulter.
19 And thou schalt not do thefte.
Nici să nu furi.
20 Thou schalt not speke fals witnessyng ayens thi neiybore.
Nici să nu depui mărturie falsă împotriva aproapelui tău.
21 Thou schalt not coueite `the wijf of thi neiybore, not hows, not feeld, not seruaunt, not handmayde, not oxe, not asse, and alle thingis that ben hise.
Nici să nu doreşti soţia aproapelui tău, nici să nu pofteşti casa aproapelui tău, câmpul său, sau servitorul lui sau servitoarea lui, boul lui sau măgarul lui, sau ceva din ce este al aproapelui tău.
22 The Lord spak these wordis to al youre multitude, in the hil, fro the myddis of fier and of cloude and of myist, with greet vois, and addide no thing more; and he wroot tho wordis in two tablis of stoon, whiche he yaf to me.
Aceste cuvinte le-a vorbit DOMNUL către toată adunarea voastră, pe munte, din mijlocul focului, din nor şi din întuneric gros, cu voce tare, şi nu a mai adăugat nimic. Şi le-a scris pe două table de piatră şi mi le-a dat mie.
23 Forsothe after that ye herden the vois fro the myddis of the derknessis, and sien the hil brenne, alle ye princis of lynagis, and the grettere men in birthe, neiyiden to me, and seiden, Lo!
Şi s-a întâmplat, când aţi auzit vocea din mijlocul întunericului, (fiindcă muntele ardea cu foc), că v-aţi apropiat de mine, adică toţi capii triburilor voastre şi bătrânii voştri;
24 oure Lord God schewide to vs his maieste and greetnesse; we herden his vois fro the myddis of fier, and we preueden to day that a man lyuede, `while God spak with man.
Şi aţi spus: Iată, DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru ne-a arătat gloria sa şi măreţia sa şi i-am auzit vocea din mijlocul focului; am văzut astăzi că Dumnezeu vorbeşte cu omul şi omul trăieşte.
25 Whi therfor schulen we die, and schal this gretteste fier deuoure vs? For if we heren more the vois of oure Lord God, we schulen die.
Şi acum pentru ce să murim? Pentru că acest foc mare ne va mistui, dacă vom mai auzi vocea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul nostru vom muri.
26 What is ech man, that he here the vois of God lyuynge, that spekith fro the myddis of fier, as we herden, and that he may lyue?
Fiindcă cine este acela, ca noi, din toată făptura, care a auzit vocea Dumnezeului cel viu vorbind din mijlocul focului, şi a trăit?
27 Rathere neiye thou, and here thou alle thingis whiche oure Lord God schal seie to thee; and thou schalt speke to vs, and we schulen here, and schulen do tho wordis.
Apropie-te tu şi auzi tot ce va spune DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru şi vorbeşte-ne tu, tot ce îţi va vorbi DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru; şi vom auzi şi vom face.
28 And whanne the Lord hadde herd this, he seide to me, Y herde the vois of the wordis of this puple, whiche thei spaken to thee; thei spaken wel alle thingis.
Şi DOMNUL a auzit vocea cuvintelor voastre, când mi-aţi vorbit, şi DOMNUL mi-a spus: Am auzit vocea cuvintelor acestui popor, pe care le-a spus către tine, bine au spus tot ce au spus.
29 Who schal yyue `that thei haue siche soule, that thei drede me, and kepe alle my comaundementis in al tyme, that it be wel to hem and to the sones `of hem, with outen ende?
O, de ar fi în ei o astfel de inimă, ca să se teamă de mine şi să păzească întotdeauna toate poruncile mele, ca să le fie bine, lor şi copiilor lor, pentru totdeauna!
30 Go thou, and seye to hem, Turne ye ayen in to youre tentis.
Du-te, spune-le: Întoarceţi-vă la corturile voastre.
31 Sotheli stonde thou here with me, and Y schal speke to thee alle comaundementis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche thou schalt teche hem, that thei do tho in the lond which Y schal yyue to hem in to possessioun.
Dar cât despre tine, stai aici lângă mine şi îţi voi spune toate poruncile şi statutele şi judecăţile care să îi înveţi să le împlinească în ţara pe care le-o dau să o stăpânească.
32 Therfor kepe ye, and `do ye tho thingis, whiche the Lord God comaundide to you; ye schulen not bowe awey, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side,
Să luaţi seama să faceţi de aceea precum v-a poruncit DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru, să nu vă abateţi la dreapta sau la stânga.
33 but ye schulen go bi the weie whiche youre Lord God comaundide, that ye lyue, and that it be wel to you, and that youre daies be lengthid in the lond of youre possessioun.
Să umblaţi în toate căile pe care vi le-a poruncit DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru, ca să trăiţi şi să vă fie bine şi să vă lungiţi zilele în ţara pe care o veţi stăpâni.
