Deuteronomy 25
1 If cause is bitwixe ony men, and thei axen iugis, thei schulen yyue the victorie of riytfulnesse to him, whom thei perseyuen to be iust, thei schulen condempne hym of wickidnesse, whom thei perseyuen to be wickid.
Ha pör lesz férfiak között és odalépnek a törvény elé, hogy ítéljenek fölöttük, és fölmentik az igazságost és elítélik a bűnöst
2 Sotheli if thei seen hym that synnede, worthi of betyngis, thei schulen caste him doun, and make to be betun bifor hem; also the maner of betyngis schal be for the mesure of synne,
Akkor lesz, ha verést érdemel a bűnös, fektesse le őt a bíró és veressen rá maga előtt bűnösségéhez mérten, szám szerint.
3 so oneli that tho passe not the noumbre of fourti, lest thi brother be to-rent viliche bifore thin iyen, and go awei.
Negyvenet veressen rá, ne többet; nehogy többet veressen rá, ezenfelül sok ütést, és lealáztatnék testvéred szemeid előtt.
4 Thou schalt not bynde the `mouth of the oxe tredynge thi fruytis in the corn floor.
Ne kösd be az ökör száját, mikor nyomtat.
5 Whanne britheren dwellen to gidere, and oon of hem is deed with out fre children, the wijf of the deed brother schal not be weddid to anothir man, but his brothir schal take hir, and schal reise seed of his brother.
Ha együtt laknak testvérek és meghal az egyik közülük, és fia nincs neki, ne legyen a halottnak felesége (családon) kívül idegen férfié, sógora menjen be hozzá és vegye őt nőül, sógorsági házassággal vegye el.
6 And he schal clepe the firste gendrid sone `of hir bi the name `of hym, `that is, of the deed brothir, that his name be not don awei fro Israel.
És legyen, az elsőszülött, akit szülni fog, maradjon meghalt testvére nevén, hogy ne töröltessék a neve Izraelből.
7 Forsothe if he nyle take the wijf of his brother, which is due to hym bi lawe, the womman schal go to the yate of the citee; and sche schal axe the grettere men in birthe, and sche schal seie, `The brother of myn hosebonde nyle reise seed of his brother in Israel, nethir wole take me in to mariage.
De ha nem akarja a férfi elvenni sógorasszonyát, akkor menjen ki sógorasszonya a kapuba, s vénekhez és mondja: Sógorom vonakodik fenntartani az ő testvérének nevét Izraelben, nem akar engem sógorsági házassággal elvenni.
8 And anoon thei schulen make hym to be clepid, and thei schulen axe. If he answerith, Y nyle take hir to wijf;
És hívják meg városának vénei és szóljanak hozzá; ő meg odaáll és azt mondja: Nem akarom elvenni,
9 the womman schal go to hym bifor the eldre men of Israel, and sche schal take awei the schoo, and sche schal spete in to his face, and schal seie, So it schal be doon to the man, that bildith not `the hows of his brother;
akkor lépjen oda sógorasszonya hozzá a vének szemei láttára, húzza le saruját a lábáról és köpjön ki előtte; szólaljon föl és mondja: Így történjék a férfiúval, aki nem építi föl testvérének a házát.
10 and `the name of hym schal be clepid in Israel, The hows of the man vnschood.
És neveztessék el Izraelben: Saruja – lehúzottnak háza.
11 If twei men han strijf bitwixe hem silf, and oon bigynneth to stryue ayens another, and the wijf of `the tother man wole delyuere hir hosebonde fro the hond of the strongere man, and puttith hond, and `takith the schamefast membris `of hym,
Midőn férfiak egymás közt tusakodnak, valaki meg testvére, és közeledik az egyiknek felesége, hogy megmentse férjét annak kezéből, ki őt veri s kinyújtja kezét és megragadja a szemérmét:
12 thou schalt kitte awei `the hond of hir, nether thou schalt be bowid on hir bi ony mercy.
akkor vágd el kezefejét, ne sajnálja szemed.
13 Thou schalt not haue in the bagge dyuerse weiytis,
Ne legyen neked zacskódban kétféle súlykő, nagy és kicsiny.
14 a grettere and a lesse, nether a buyschel more and lesse schal be in thin hows.
Ne legyen neked házadban kétféle éfó, nagy és kicsiny.
15 Thou schalt haue a iust weiyte and trewe, and an euene buyschel `and trewe schal be to thee, that thou lyue in myche tyme on the lond which thi Lord God schal yyue to thee.
Teljes és igazságos súlyköved legyen, teljes és igazságos éfód legyen, hogy hosszú életű légy a földön, melyet az Örökkévaló, a te Istened ad neked.
16 For the Lord schal haue hym abhomynable that doith these thingis, and he wlatith, `ethir cursith, al vnriytfulnesse.
Mert az Örökkévaló, a te Istened utálata mindaz, aki ezeket teszi, mindaz, aki hamisságot követ el.
17 Haue thou mynde what thingis Amalech dide to thee in the weie, whanne thou yedist out of Egipt;
Emlékezzél meg arról, amit tett neked Amalék az úton, mikor kivonultatok Egyiptomból:
18 hou he cam to thee, and killide the laste men of thin oost, that saten wery, whanne thou were disesid with hungur and trauel, and he dredde not God.
Hogy rádtámadt az úton és megverte az utócsapatodat, mind az elgyöngültetek mögötted; te pedig bágyadt és fáradt voltál, és ő nem félt az Istentől.
19 Therfor whanne thi Lord God hath youe reste to thee, and hath maad suget alle naciouns `bi cumpas, in the lond which he bihiyte to thee, thou schalt do awei `the name of hym vndur heuene; be thou war lest thou foryete.
Azért lesz, midőn nyugalmat szerez neked az Örökkévaló, a te Istened mind az ellenségeidtől köröskörül, az országban, melyet az Örökkévaló, a te Istened ad neked birtokul, hogy elfogadjad, akkor töröld el Amalék emlékét az ég alól, el ne felejtsd!
