Deuteronomy 23
1 A geldyng whanne hise stoonys ben brokun, ethir kit awey, and his yerde is kit awei, schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord.
No entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé el hombre que tenga los testículos majados o cuyo miembro genital haya sido cortado,
2 A child borun of hordom schal not entre in to the chirche of the Lord, `til to the tenthe generacioun.
no entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé ningún bastardo; ni siquiera en la décima generación entrará en ella.
3 Ammonytis and Moabitis, yhe aftir the tenthe generacioun, schulen not entre into the `chirche of the Lord with outen ende;
No entrará en la comunidad de Yahvé amonita ni moabita, ni siquiera en la décima generación entrarán en ella; jamás entrarán;
4 for thei nolden come to you with breed and watir in the weie, whanne ye yeden out of Egipt; and for thei hireden ayens thee Balaam, the sone of Beor, fro Mesopotanye of Sirye, that he schulde curse thee;
porque no vinieron a vuestro encuentro con pan y agua en el camino cuando salisteis de Egipto, sino que sobornaron contra ti a Balaam, hijo de Beor, de Petor de Mesopotamia, para que te maldijera.
5 and thi Lord God nolde here Balaam, and God turnede `the cursyng of Balaam in to thi blessyng, for he louyde thee.
Pero Yahvé, tu Dios, no quiso escuchar a Balaam; antes Yahvé tu Dios, te convirtió la maldición en bendición; pues Yahvé, tu Dios, te ama.
6 Thou schalt not make pees with hem, nethir thou schalt seke goodis to hem, in alle the daies of thi lijf in to with outen ende.
No buscarás jamás su paz ni su bienestar en todos sus días.
7 Thou schalt not `haue abhomynacioun of a man of Ydumye, for he is thi brothir, nethir of a man of Egipt, for thou were a comelyng in the lond of hym.
No abominarás al idumeo, porque es tu hermano. No abominarás al egipcio, porque fuiste peregrino en su tierra.
8 Thei that ben borun of hem, schulen entre in the thridde generacioun in to the `chirche of the Lord.
Los hijos nacidos de ellos en la tercera generación, podrán entrar en la comunidad de Yahvé.
9 Whanne thou schalt go out `in to batel ayens thin enemyes, thou schalt kepe thee fro al yuel thing.
Cuando salgas a campaña contra tus enemigos, guárdate de toda cosa indecente,
10 If a man is among you, which is defoulid in `sleep of nyyt, he schal go out of `the castels;
Si hubiere en medio de ti alguno que se (haya) hecho inmundo por algo que le sucedió de noche, salga fuera del campamento y no vuelva al campamento,
11 and he schal not turne ayen bifore that he be waischun in watir at euentid, and aftir the goyng doun of the sunne he schal go ayen in to the castels.
hasta que al caer la tarde se haya lavado con agua, y a la puesta del sol regresará al campamento.
12 Thou schalt haue a place without the castels, to which thou schalt go out to nedeful thingis of kynde;
Además tendrás fuera del campamento un lugar, adonde podrás salir.
13 and thou schalt bere a litil stake in the girdil; and whanne thou hast sete, thou schalt digge `bi cumpas, and `thou schalt hile with erthe thingis `defied out,
Tendrás también en tu equipo una estaca, con la cual harás un hoyo cuando te sentares fuera, y antes de volverte cubrirás tus excrementos.
14 where thou art releuyd. For thi Lord God goeth in the myddis of castels, that he diliuere thee, and bitake thin enemyes to thee, that thi castels be hooli, and no thing of filthe appere in tho, lest he forsake thee.
Porque Yahvé, tu Dios, anda en medio de tu campamento para protegerte y entregar tus enemigos delante de ti; por eso tu campamento ha de ser santo, para que Él no vea en ti cosas vergonzosas y no te abandone.
15 Thou schalt not bitake a seruaunt to his lord, which seruaunt fleeth to thee;
No entregarás a su amo, esclavo que se haya refugiado contigo, huyendo de su amo.
16 he schal dwelle with thee in the place that plesith hym, and he schal reste in oon of thi citees; and make thou not hym sori.
Habitará contigo, en medio de ti, en cualquier lugar que eligiere, en algunas de tus ciudades que le gustare; no le oprimirás.
17 Noon hoore schal be of the douytris of Israel, nether a letchour of the sones of Israel.
No haya prostituta entre las hijas de Israel; tampoco haya prostituto entre los hijos de Israel.
18 Thou schalt not offre the hire of `an hoore hows, nether the prijs of a dogge, in the hows of thi Lord God, what euer thing it is that thou hast avowid; for euer eithir is abhomynacioun bifor thi Lord God.
No lleves a la Casa de Yahvé, tu Dios, las ganancias de la ramera, ni el salario del perro, para cumplir un voto, pues ambos son objeto de abominación ante Yahvé, tu Dios.
19 Thou schalt not leene to thi brothir to vsure money, neither fruytis,
No exijas de tu hermano interés alguno por el dinero, ni interés por comestibles, ni interés por ninguna otra cosa, por las cuales se suele tomar interés.
20 nethir ony othir thing, but to an alien. Forsothe thou schalt leene to thi brothir without vsure that that he nedith, that thi Lord God blesse thee in al thi werk, in the lond to which thou schalt entre to welde.
Del extranjero podrás exigirlo, mas no lo exijas de tu hermano; para que Yahvé, tu Dios, te bendiga en toda empresa de tu mano en la tierra adónde vas para tomarla en posesión.
21 Whanne thou makist auow to thi Lord God, thou schalt not tarie to yelde, for thi Lord God schal `requyre, ether axe, that; and if thou tariest, it schal be arretid to thee in to synne.
Cuando hagas algún voto a Yahvé, tu Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque Yahvé, tu Dios, sin falta te lo reclamará y te cargarías con un pecado.
22 If thou `nylt bihete, thou schalt be with out synne.
Si te abstienes de hacer voto, no cometas pecado.
23 Forsothe thou schalt kepe, and `do that that yede out onys of thi lippis, as thou bihiytist to thi Lord God, and hast spoke with thin owne wille and thi mouth.
Pero lo que una vez salió de tus labios, lo cumplirás y ejecutarás, conforme al voto libremente hecho a Yahvé, tu Dios, que prometiste con tu boca.
24 If thou entrist in to the vynere of thi neiybore, ete thou grapis, as myche as plesith thee; but bere thou not out with thee.
Cuando entrares en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer uvas según tu apetito, hasta saciarte, mas no las pondrás en tu cesta.
25 If thou entrist in to `the corn of thi freend, thou schalt breke `eeris of corn, and frote togidere with `the hond; but thou schalt not repe with a sikil.
Cuando entrares en la mies de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con tu mano; mas no meterás la hoz en la mies de tu prójimo.
